  1. Agreed! Zombie rifle chews on any ammo you have available (Wolf) and puts max rounds down range with good accuracy. Varmint rifle is one shot one kill MOA accurate and should use only quality factory ammo or precision reloads! Top rifle, My .204 Ruger! NON ZOMBIE rifle! Middle, 6.8 SPC with Kotonics upper (sold to Joe at Hero Gear) Bottom, Zombie special, RRA UTE with EOTech.
  2. All this talk and now I figure I need to go see the Bench this afternoon. Need some shell holders for some new loadings I'm starting!
  3. The lower is a place you CAN save but be careful there too! If you get to far down the quality chain you'll have a lower that won't match up to your good upper and that will mess the whole deal up! (DO NOT BUY OLYMPIC ARMS lowers, my opinion but after owning two, I'm convinced). Put a quality trigger kit in it. I use Rock River Arms single or two stage National Matches. Getting an upper is the same. Tolerances are what is going to make it a plinker or a tack driver. Chrome lined barrel will make it last longer at the sacrifice of a little accuracy. Stainless is what the varmint shooters use. Unless you want to throw down some big cash on a custom (White Oaks Armament, etc) get a stainless from RRA or Bushmaster. I have no experience with the Bushy, but my RRA chrome lined AR is great and at a good price. My other ARs were custom so you don't want to hear what I dropped for a .458 or a .204 Ruger. If you were serious about the varmint portion of your statement go here and order: http://www.rockriverarms.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=AR0500X&storeid=1ℑ=uva407.gif&CFID=553403&CFTOKEN=97676976 Then spend some good money on quality optics. YMMV
  4. We still have to deal with the ugliness in life Stricj, no matter how nauseating or unappealing. The only consolation is there is a ring in hell reserved for those folks like ole Bill. Read Dante's Inferno or the revised edition by Larry Niven for some relief that he WILL get whats coming to him!
  5. Who is he "desking" nowadays anyway? Rosie or Oprah?
  6. Get a bigger Hammer and some Vice Grips! Nothing else needed in a tool kit.
  7. Welcome! Carry is a very personal choice. I'm finding that having a selection of pistols is the best way to go. Of late, my little S&W 642 has been traveling. Before that a Kimber 1911. Now I have an XD40 and a G22 that also want time to travel! If your going to Walmart to pick up groceries, the small pocket guns you can just pick up and throw in your jeans are great. If you wear a coat all the time, work outside an office or can handle IWB for long periods then the mid sized models work well. When I go outdoors on the family farm, the belt holsters get strapped on and anyone can go! See, its all in what your able to do for the situation. Have a selection of firearms and choose which one you want that day! Its terrible having to make the choice:p
  8. Rabbi is dead on.
  9. hehehehehe:) Of course its mandatory that you DIE after blowing up said tank.
  10. Buy some and when he doesn't produce the product sue his AR$E! Do those work on a G22 ?
  11. Its not RRA. They use UZI mags and a mag well block with a set screw to hold it all in place. Once set properly everyone loves them. When they can't get it set, horror stories. I am actually thinking about the RRA .40 S&W upper when it comes out. That way I'll have a large number of weapons all using the same caliber ammo.
  12. You looking for wood, G10, Hogue? Guns and Leather in Greenbrier Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet Rivergate Guns and Knifes Franklin Gun shop. I still find ordering on line and having UPS or postal dude bring em to me is easiest. But then I like Hogue on everything so I'm easy:)
  13. My 6.8 is hanging on Joe's wall at Hero Gear, nice caliber! I also have a .204 Ruger upper and if you deer hunt, a .458 Socom upper. No modifications needed to the lower you already have for either upper. There are lots more calibers coming out now. The AR platform is fantastic to tailor your weapon to your target! The fun is only beginning.
  14. You only built one? Come on man, more! More!
  15. Just down the road in a little strip mall complex at the corner of Gallatin Road and New Shackle Island. Its in that low area where there was a Lumber yard years ago.
  16. Might have to! Seriously, congrats. I just bought one of the G22s from Dan two weeks ago so I gots mine! Joe hooked me up with a nice Pentax scope and a Boker knife today. The Misses rang me up so I got to see one good looking person at the shop! I also conducted a FTF trade and got an XD40 from jrgrahm which I really like! It was a good day. Thanks Joe, Misses Joe, Dan, and all the rest of the crew!
  17. Shoot, a Benjy and two Ho Ho's and Dan said it would be mine!
  18. Dang it, I want my bribe money back!
  19. I was in the Army from 85 to 89 and what amazed me was how LITTLE they taught us to fight. Heck if you owned a firearm you were not allowed to keep it in your quarters. I was an officer and had to keep my pistol in the armory during the short period I stayed in the BOQ. It was a real fight to even qualify with our small arms. The real stupid thing was that in order to keep the ammo levels available for training at the same or increase them, we had to use it all up every year. So during the last quarter, after only allowing or scheduling one required qualification, they would run as many folks as possible to the range and just shoot it all up. Rock and Roll was encouraged but no real training was engaged in the action. They just wanted it gone so they could say, send more next year and then again fail to set up real training the following year. When I as a lowly Lieutenant complained to my commander that it was stupid and wasteful, he gave the old Army axiom, it is what it is. Hand to Hand? We never saw the one day of that during my stints with a FA unit in Korea and with two airborne units at Ft. Bragg. Sad that the fighters were not trained to be fighters. I'm glad they are trying to instill some fighting spirit now.
  20. The place was hopping boys! I don't think Joe or Dan will post for a day or two while they recover! Thanks Joe, another well spent trip to your store. I really like the new layout, you and your crew obviously worked your butts off to get it that way. Folks, I have spent a lot of money on many things over the years and have NEVER received customer service from anyone selling anything. We need to support Joe enough so that he expands to Nashville area and I can go work for him!
  21. and your point?
  22. Way to go Creeky! I was going to post "Whats being married got to do with fighting? Ooops, just answered my own question" decided to read through the thread and figured someone may have misdirected on the martial to marital! GMTA:D
  23. Oh, you don't finish up your laser play with a shot? (cats remember!) (no cats were harmed in the typing of this message:p)
  24. Cats love laser dots!!!
