The Great Tennessee Air Show 2008 at Smyrna Airport
Rightwinger replied to Urse's topic in Events and Gatherings
I can't count how many P51 models I made as a kid and a young man. The F15 was up there as well. I would have to say the Mustang was my favorite WWII plane, then the Thunderbolt, Corsair and Wildcat. Thanks for that fantastic picture. -

I hope you don't mind YOUR pictures being MY desktop wall paper...damn nice photos. You can't post stuff that nice and not expect em to get copied a bit....can ya? -
It gives me a better cheek/stock weld as I'm using both eyes open. This feels better and has my head more upright for scanning. Its a small Yankee Hill riser.

Mike, your supposed to let them get their feet wet, become a benefactor and post outside of the new members thread before you throw the Glock question at them! Remidial training for you! Roscoe, you don't need to answer that (yet). You can plead the 5th. (Best answer is to own a Glock as well as a 1911 and a revolver somewhere so that you fit all categories)

Rabbi, I have been getting more into shotgun as well this year. I purchased this from "he who shall remain nameless" last year and did a little upgrading. It works very well! Remy 870 Police Magnum, Mesa Tactical Side Saddle and a Burris Fast Fire mini red dot. Cheaper to shoot 50 slugs and/or 00 buck than a box of 20 .45 HP! Original configuration With additions

Ask them to check out your firearms for you when you do, since they are there and looking around.
-
Look, they won't let kids take a American Rifleman magazine to school or draw a picture of a gun in school. What are they going to do with the news item that bullet goes off in garbage truck or landfill ! ! It doesn't have to hurt anyone. It just has to be near a brainless anti to cause a furor. I'll just play it to the ultra conservative safe side.

That would be the normal action. As I stated, with modern methods of sanitation, lots of garbage is compressed, sifted or moved with heavy machinery that does put lots of pressure on the items in it. Once would be more than enough.

You have to have the password to enter Chat. You did receive your password when you joined didn't you?? If not, email Tungsten and MolonlabeTN and ask them for your chat room password.

I see potential for a us vs. them in this thread, BUT..as Tungsten likes to state, we should strive to show the best side of firearms and their owners. It would only take one incident of a dumb error to give the anti's more ammo for their cause. Is the chance of a loose round going off and injuring someone a large one? Obviously no. But when you take into account all the possibile scenarios, it could happen so why take the chance. The sanitation trucks have a compression system in them to compact the garbage. The places garbage is handled use compression systems, incinerators and heavy equipment to move it. All it would take is a highly compressed wad of garbage to hold the round in place and a shove on the glass, metal or polymer behind the round to set it off. Do the right thing, make the round inert, then toss the bad brass and bullet. If you reload, you know you generate a bad one once in a while. I don't want some of my bigger rounds like .340 Wby Mag or .458 Socom going off by accident somewhere other than my rifle!

Glad I'm not a sanitation worker in your area. (come to think of it, glad I'm not a sanitation worker anywhere....not that there's anything wrong with that ((quote from Seinfeld))

What the hell is that on Shultz'es chest?????? Cancerous growth??

No fun way to do this. Safe method is to buy a kinetic bullet puller and get that bullet out, dump the powder in water then soak the empty casing in water overnight to kill the primer. Quicker way to kill the primer is to pour some gun oil in the case. Not good to be monkeying around with live ammo. Do NOT try any "fun" ways to get rid of this one cartridge.

First rule of the "coup".....cut off communication to the masses. Who's taking over what and where.....

One of the best in the business for quality but their prices reflect that as well.

Quit it! I keep reading this War and Peace thread everytime someone posts looking for someone to finally throw down on Yeager with a paintball gun and no one does....so stop it. Back to the sidelines for another year. RW oooooooout.

I want MolonlabeTN's password so I can post another reference to beer and boobs! I like Red Head 1911's responses.

I own a Kimber Compact Stainless with the 4" and it shoots like a champ. I owned a Springfield Armory Micro 3" and it shot really well too! I had a 3" Para Light Hawg and it wouldn't chew anything! Depends on the maker, the day it was made and all the other variables any 1911 deals with. Break in, lube, fit, etc. You will hear horror stories on Kimbers but as with most things the bad stuff is very vocal, the ones with no problems never need to post. Get the Kimber, you'll love it.

OK. I like Georgia Arms better now

I have shot their .38 +P and its great. Good folks at Georgia Arms.

To hell with Trijicon! I had a bad sight on a Glock I bought from Hero Gear and emailed the listed problem address on Trijicon's website and got NO answer at all. Nothing! They could have at least acknowledged they were not going to back up their warranty. Now I'll never be able to own a ACOG because I won't trust this company to fix their problems. Big thanks to Joe at Hero Gear who did make it right and will either have to deal with TrijiCON himself or eat the costs on that front sight ( I sure hope he doesn't). Meprolight is what the Kimber shop would install so they would be okay. The TruGlo sights I had on an XD for a short time were very bright. I haven't tried it but there is a self applied glow dot system I have been looking at. For the price it might be OK. http://www.nitesiters.com/?gclid=CJ2hlYqbk5ICFQVqIgodkyzX6g

Time to help some fellow gun-owners!
Rightwinger replied to Mr. Brooks's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Exactly. Why are we trying to help those that won't or can't help themselves. Rock River Arms has an exit plan should the State outlaw the manufacture of firearms. I'm sure all the other manufacturers do to. Every citizen up there that cares about 2nd amendment rights as well as less leftist living should as well. To me, the groups and citizens that are generating the revenue to run a place like Chicago are generally a conservative group. Logic would state then that the polar opposites are generally liberal. If the makers of jobs and revenue move out......what does the machine have left? I can see a bunch of Dem/Lib machine operators up there in conference speaking with one another trying to figure out how to get money to the "working poor" who aren't really working when there is no money in the coffers. All those that refuse to leave because its home.....they should leave as a group and come back in a year or two and buy it all back at a quarter of the price after the dumbass libetards finish raping and pillaging by fiat. -
I think it was Sermon8r that had one for sale here a while back. It stayed a while if I recall.

Charles Hathcock didn't let things like 1000 yards get in his way did he! Scarab, you might be interested to know, I talked to my brother today and he wanted me to post that 50 BMG I posted pics of is available and is for sale in the Guns for Sale section!

POGs, how aptly they have named themselves. We spelled it Pouges when I was in the military. The definition remains the same. Useless persons that get in the way of real life. I think these activits just like saying and typing big words!
