All those folks who work there and complain seem to have forgotten they live in freaking America and can choose to quit on the spot and move on! If I owned a business I would be totally anti union as well! Healthcare is a BENEFIT not a right! If you don't like the benefits, keep looking! Make yourself competitive enough in the market to walk in anywhere, interview and bargain for your compensation! Don't sit on your ass, get some of a high school education, get your buddy to fill out the application at Wally world and then once hired demand the same rate of pay and benefits that someone who worked their arse off in school, got the knowledge and then went out and became the analyst, doctor, lawyer, technician, driver, teacher, etc did. It is NOT going to happen. Find your niche and live happy there, don't keep looking up and wishing there was an elevator that could get you around hard work! RANT OFF, I gotta go to work tomorrow so I can afford low prices!

Geek toy... Logitech MX Revolution cordless mouse
Rightwinger replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Baud = Baudot as I recall. I learned baud rates with wired, cabled and radio teletype networks in the Army in the 80's (just pre-Singars and MSE) The teletypes used the punched paper tape to read in the messages after we typed them to them. Ahh, the memories....like the time my NCO did NOT properly ground the RATT rig and as I was exiting one rainy night when one foot hit the ground as the operator switched to "SEND" and I got knocked or jumped about 10 feet without trying! Lovely! I learned basic on a TRS-80 cassette driven computer back in 77-78 and had a binary learning board so we could make that really neat thing in the middle make numbers....a LED! 10 Print "EAT ME" 20 GOTO 10 The loop of love we always left for the teacher. -

Same as a standard plastic AR grip and probably those ERGOs, the one bolt/screw with a lock washer right up the middle.

Letter to Bradley Square Mall
Rightwinger replied to dralarms's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Gun Free Zone in Rivergate Mall north of Nashville worked out really well this weekend. Shots fired, no one hurt but that criminal didn't abide by the signs! Can't you read the signs?? Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs.....don't do this, don't do that, carry a gun and get fined! -
Houges don't have a compartment, just that softer rubbery feel with the finger grooves. Both the ARs you shot were equipped with Hogues.

Great start! I can't wait to shoot it!

If you got or are getting the RRA LPK then yes. I haven't ever bought any others. And order the "oh shoot" kit as well. You will loose or break some pin, detent or other small part as you build these things.

When you get your lower parts kit you will get a little spring with a metal cap that goes in that wee little hole in front of the threads on your lower. You screw the buffer tube in until it covers just a portion of the buffer retainer and it stays in place then and holds the buffer in the tube. You just push it down into the lower rec and the buffer and spring will pop right out to clean. I took a few days to go to Wayne Co TDR, glad to see you are well on your way! When your LPK comes in just follow along with that tutorial on AR15.com to put it all together. http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=287 Go here and look at parts 108 and 109 and the buffer dilemma may become clearer.

Sigh I was a member of "Waiting to Go" and "Don't want you Back". Guess I'll pass on operations I was on and just get a set of Airborne Wings or something tacked on. Sounds like my Christmas present is sitting as a block of billet somewhere!

This will be long and hard to read! HELL NO

Wow, he made them do their jobs....congratulations...your mediocre! He is a politician pure and simple. He makes policy with the winds of change, he stumps for whomever is in charge, he uses the position to foster his liberal tendencies. He can't manage his own family (DUIs by son) and he looks ridiculous in a black uniform...switch to the double breasted suit and he could be an undercover "good fella". I was accepted into Metro back in 92. I spent 9 months writing tickets downtown while they drummed up money for their next academy, all because they didn't want to let me get away. I got away and went into private investigations where I spent the next 8 years. You can have a good life as a LEO, I have lots of friends that do but it usually means you have to work doubly hard to have a home life. The hours, the side jobs for extra money...its tough. I agree with the other posters that say talk to someone that is there now. Preferably someone out of the academy only a few years so you see how the guys on the lower rungs (where you will be) feel and are treated. It might be for you! They were also correct in telling you to be in great physical shape! Unless its changed they will PT you pretty hard.

Wouldn't even think of it while Surpass was in charge. What a pud.

+1 on the Gerber LMF Very strong utility knife with the plus that it feels as good as it looks. Picked mine up at Smokey Mtn Knifeworks as well a year and half ago.

Yep, Carbine length gas system. No bells and whistles there. I shoot spray bore cleaner down the gas tube from time to time and follow that up with CLP. Never had any problems from short stroking or any other signs that the gas system is having a problem. Besides, a new gas tube is like 12.00 and moderately easy to swap out.

Me? I've known it wasn't called that and never posted otherwise. Personally I like to call it the Firecracker so I knew what it was when Mike posted it that way.

Sorry TDR but Jeff is persona non grata in the Winger household! The shrub has not won me over yet but you have to respect that he can drive (or at least has the best equipment) Little E just needs to start shutting it off on every caution, he can win maybe 3 more races this year if he does the MPG strategy. Maybe we can change his moniker to Little MPG !

TDR, I have heard good and bad on the Chip McCormicks. No personal experience with one of those. The worst thing I can think of is its a one all enclosed system so if a part breaks in those the whole thing goes. With a single or two stage, you can break a section and not have to replace it all, just a hammer or sear, etc. I personally have never had a trigger group have an issue. When the guys are talking battle rifle, you can really substitute "durable". Folks that shoot for precision do just that and don't worry about durable as they are going to replace anything they feel is wearing to maintain their groupings which is what counts for them. For you and me, we want durable. Go to the range, farm, etc and shoot when you want to shoot and not worry that something is going to break on you. That RRA you shot today has over 3k in rounds through it now with a few "fast" rounds of very rapid fire:). I won't burn the barrel out but I am not afraid to dump a magazine through it when I want to. Oh and by the way, you said you were looking to improve your aim....well you were NOT shabby in anyway today! Like I said I saw a few flinches prior to first shots but you were in the "kill zone" all day. When we looked at that cardboard target you were inside a 20x10 area which was smaller than center mass on a man size target. Not bad with an unfamiliar weapon and holo optic you had never used! Keep doing your research but don't overthink where your going. Start settling in on what you know you want, your going to do another upper anyway!

Yeah baby, Gordon spins! ! ! ! Now everyone wrecks...wow
-
I do have to say it has not been painful to watch it on TNT today. Now someone wreck Jeff Gordon! 9 to go. Out
-
I would highly recommend it ! Only two sources, Rock River Arms and the developer of the round who makes the custom uppers, Marty Ter Weeme in Texas. If you want it fast....do RRA. If you want it highest quality but can wait 6 months to a year, contact Marty. He uses PacNor barrels so they are top shelve.

If you like shooting the 55 grain, .22 inch BBs from a regular AR, think who much fun putting 300 to 500 grain half inch rounds down range out of the same platform! Yeah, I like my little SOCOM.

Anytime TDR, anytime. Like I said, the payback is when I get to shoot YOURs !
