  1. They announced on the radio a few hours ago that they have a suspect under arrest. He is from Antioch, TN and is "cooperating" with officials. Putz
  2. DUCT TAPE! Fixes anything
  3. Reloaders Bench or.....in the middle of no where KY, Gamaliel, KY is one of the best outfitted shops for reloading and shooting I have been to. If your in middle TN and out and about, run on up through Lafayette, TN or Red Boiling Springs and your just about there. Web link below http://www.gamaliel.com/cart/
  4. Did it come as a shock to you that you had back issues? I got a little suprise when I "strained" mine again putting up some steel in a warehouse about 3 years ago and it finally drove me to see the specialist. He had me do the MRI and then suprise, asked me when I had broken my back! ! Apparently I crushed two of the lower sections in the L3 and L4 back when I was jumping out of perfectly good airplanes back in the day. Needless to say, I just thought I had a couple of weak spots and grunted to hard to often. Surgery was an option but he said if he fused one, then a few years later they would probably fuse another and so on. I just stretch good now and steer clear of steel girders. No issues since. I hope you had a second opinion because once they start cutting, they love to keep cutting....its like...job security for Docs! Aspirin really is the wonder drug!
  5. Dang, and I was all set to invite you down to the farm this weekend.
  6. Ok, trade secrets and they work pretty well as you can tell from my story of having to throw things at a young buck this week to get him to leave. We always build a small fire at the cabin, this time of year as defense against the bugs so we can sit on the back porch a little. Well, I walk through the ashes the next morning. We also wave our britches, shirts and outer garments through the smoke just a bit, not so we can't stand putting the clothes on, but enough to "filter" if you will what might leak through as you sit in that "pool" of scent your generating after sitting still for hours. There are still a lot of wood burning stoves used in Wayne Co and someone is always burning brush so its a familiar smell to them. Getting off the ground in a ladder or climber is still the key to seeing the good ones. As far as ultraviolet, I don't buy the expensive camo and as you can see from pics in the other thread, don't even bother to match them up much. They are comfortable, well washed (scentless HS scents detergent, my contribution to marketing) and mostly natural fibers. They see movement better than anything!
  7. Earlier model, still effective today, lower cost as well.
  8. Aren't they a Pac 10 team?
  9. That is awesome! Sending that out to some buddies. Thanks Verbal!
  10. Agreed. And 7 rounds is always plenty.
  11. Hey, I almost gots them crazy eyes myself.....is that tacti-cool points or what?
  12. Left for Wayne Co from work Wed evening. Hunted every morning and afternoon and all I kept seeing was the little fork horn buck shown above fighting with ole Half Head. Was really hoping for some does to start the meat locker stockage. Well this little tard deer came in on me late Friday afternoon and would not leave! I even watched him get his picture taken on the camera! I did not want him to see me come down out of the tree so I threw a spit bottle at him! Still didn't run. He finally moseyed over to said bottle and got in close and finally sniffed "human". He sprinted about 15 yards and then stood there again! I finally resorted to barking like a dog and he ran off. I walked by the camera on my way out to show the timing of the little bastard and how dark he let it get on me. I vowed that if he showed up this morning I would just go ahead and stick him...you guessed it, not a damn thing. Deer....damn I hate deer sometimes.
  13. I'm grumpy because I should have shot that stupid little prong horn buck that messed with me all week. I could have stuck him 3 different times and had to throw a bottle at him finally to get him to leave the area as it was dark and I wanted to get out of my stand without him seeing where I was at! Is there a "your totally grumpy rating" test I can take somewhere? Guess I could watch Grumpy old Men. Hey, why you raggin on me...your no spring chicky anymore either, come on over and grouch a bit! Try it, you'll like it.
  14. If your 18 to 25 and take tests like that to see how tacticool you are, you probably need the validation from other 18-25 years olds. I did not bother to take the test as I need no number or tacticool label. I own several firearms and that is all ye need to know till the moment of truth. Then I will either be tacti-proficient or the guy in the obit. If the latter occurs then I obviously still won't care what the number was. If the former, neither HE nor I will care what the number was. So how many licks does it take to get to center of a tootsie pop? (old fart Mr. Owls can now answer)
  15. Hell, is that a grease gun on top of the buried mini gun? I shot one of those back in 84. We still had them in our National Guard unit (H company 278th ACR, Clinton, TN). Wow, that brings back some scary memories. Those things are pigs to shoot and most of the time would not stop firing! Still would be cool to have one just lying around. Nice pic, where did ya get it?
  16. The big boys are pretty easy...M2, 2 M60s, an M249 SAW, a 50 BMG on the left, could be an early Barrett, couple of M16s on the right, what appears to be the tail of an Uzi or Mac 10 with the folding stock. After that its a jumble. Could be a BAR and a Thompson in that mess. Why would anyone be throwing their crap in a truck like that unless its some propaganda shot from an anti while taking these off to be de-mil'd?
  17. The one on the left about 3 deep has a scratch on it. Might want to get that rubbed out. and give me back my mini-gun. I didn't leave that on the coffee table for you to borrow!
  18. I wish they were in Westmoreland and I wouldn't have to drive so far! Flash is hell on the nocturnal eyes ain't it! (I'll be headed to the woods for a long attempt at knocking something down starting Thursday morning, wish me luck....or not)
  19. That is the question? He looks like he is asking us in the pic doesn't he? "Hey, you guys seen my right antler? It was on the branch when I went to bed this morning, now I can't find it" I suspect he is a bully and got his clock cleaned already. See below. This is him trying to push a little prong horn yearling buck around.
  20. Saw two does and one turkey, nothing got within range. Bugs were the death of me both afternoons! I did get another funny photo off the game camera. Sometimes it just isn't your year!
  21. Also on the Lee single and like the peace of a reloading session. .45 ACP, 30-06, 340 Wby Mag, 458 Socom and of course .223
  22. oh yeah....those things are pesky. They hide in that free brass I collect off ranges and try to get me to break my decapper!
  23. What....shoot a guy hanging out in my hunting areas....never. Flog him a bit and make him go home nekkid....probably.
  24. Come on TDR, you were going to do the AR drugs whether I offered you a hit or not....don't be hating:)
  25. I have counted 6 different bucks at this location ranging from one year spikes to that biggest one. I have watched him grow up the past two years for sure and maybe three. Here he is with his big brother...last year. I didn't get the bigger one and have not seen him this year at all. Looks like he has either totally moved out of the area or someone got him last year. If I get the shot at this one he comes home with me as I have plenty coming up behind him. I have posted this one before as well but its at the same spot with some dominance games going on as well as some spectators cheering on the fight! And this was one taken about 400 yards down off this ridge in 05 Sorry, not trying to show off, got a little fever running right now!
