  1. You'll probably get some of the swagger folks say they would not have disarmed and never come back but I think you did a wonderful job! You showed a great attitude and worked with the operator/owner of the place and I think you would be clear to carry now with no reservations from her again. You also educated as you presented the rest of us in a good light to the owner. If they did ask you to disarm again, I think at that point you could go the route of explaining you were not comfortable with that (more chances for incidents handling a firearm in the parking lot with more eyes) and tell them you would not continue your patronship of their establishment. I think you did good! Now, go back next week for something small and cheap so you don't go all alcoholic on us and report back how it went.
  2. Uh, I ruined my sons juvenile hunt this morning by waking up at 0730 with daylight streaming in!! I just recently switched over to using my new cell phone as my alarm and it lets you select the days you want a repeated alarm to go off. Well, who wants the alarm going off on the weekends when you don't have to get up right? I forgot to check the settings to allow it to go off on Sat or Sun so we slept in. I made it up to him by taking him shooting anyway. We blasted away with his 20, my 12 and he shot it for the first time (bird shot lightweights). We also plugged away with some 38 special and 45. Good time for all. I got to shoot my brothers 10 gauge semi with 3 inch mags and have to say.....my 12 with 3.5 turkey's was harder on recoil. Gotta love a semi for taking up some of that recoil. Would like to invest in a nice 10 gauge someday though after shooting his. Anyway, alarms are set properly, we are set again so headed to bed in a few. Hope to post a pic of a nice tom after we eat him tomorrow night!
  3. I would say its the standard for all magazine makers as I took apart two Kahr magazines and two Mec Gar tonight after an afternoon shooting. Same thing. Brand new magazines with lots of oil and now oily residue. Did not affect anything today but I could see where time, usage and them collecting dust and firing residues, it could become problematic.
  4. I was gonna say something about old goats but it probably might be misconstrued.
  5. Sounds a little tight to me. I usually have to put my thumb on mine to push it in, it's a Lee also, but I have never had to alter it or tap it. Its only a wire spring in there that your pushing out and it snaps back in the recess on the shell holder. You might want to look in the top of the piston and make sure that wire isn't bound up or broken. Lee will make it right. If you call, you might just talk to Mr. Lee himself or his boy.
  6. The order of command progression in the oath says it all! Even much older, out of shape and the eyes getting blurry, I re-affirm that that oath still shapes my actions and thoughts in life. Thanks for putting it out there Joe. I think that was a great affirmation of where you stand and where more of us should strive to be. I need to find my way into my local govt here rather than sitting on the sidelines watching them
  7. KWW67 Very well stated! I guess I also want to say thank you. I took some heat for something recently related to your topic, but you posted what I was thinking and feeling at the time. I'm a member of three sites that deal specifically with firearms (4 if you count Arfcom but I rarely go there anymore) I browse through many others and I want continued access to all of them, It's great to participate in sharing and discussion with you guys and all the information we see here. That and the darn good comedy they generate. There are plenty of trolls out there and we should remain aware of everything we post.
  8. I forgot you are out near me at times. I got sometimers going on I think.
  9. Wasn't the SKYY pistol or some other pistol made somewhere west of Nashville? I thought he might be talking Sabre and yes, I would agree they are a quality made weapon. Had a lower from them and it was excellent
  10. My opinion is I have no idea what or who your talking about:D Did you forget to post some details? If not then I say YES, definitely but only if you want to and it's Tuesday.
  11. Don't buy Powder and Primers on line. Buy it locally and save the HAZ MAT charges. Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet is your friend here. Heck, if you want, call and get the prices on what you want, holler and we can meet one morning on my way to work and I'll pick it up for you. I'm two exits down from them on I-40
  12. You nailed it!!! That family that is not as well off as me, why? Did they not work as hard, perhaps on the dole already and waiting for more gubment help? What pissed me off most about Katrina was these folks that stayed and got flooded out then complained the government did nothing for them did NOTHING to help themselves! They knew for days it was coming, it was bad or had the potential but they did nothing! The old supply sergeants quote still hangs with me "Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine"
  13. Ultra fine tip paint pens! The RRA logo is in dark brown so not as clear as the red and green safe and fire.
  14. Them skins are starting to look better now that they are mounted and worn!
  15. Good news fellas! A lot of parts for you Camaro's were built right here in Tennessee and Kentucky. I have seen them before they wuz cars! Just to let you know, GM is pushing hard right now and making huge changes in their methods. If they are not around in a year, it wasn't for lack of trying.
  16. LOL, nice pistola there neighbor! I had to check my pocket.....yep, mine is still here.
  17. It gets crowded but if all the lanes are open its okay to shoot holes. Make sure all guns are cased to walk up to check in. Don't bring any non-standard targets.
  18. Thanks for the information. Well stated. I don't and the group as a whole, do not call BS unless warranted. I definitely do not want to hinder anyone from relating their experiences. That's what the OP meant for this thread to be. I apologize for its direction but not my intent, which in the big picture was something I felt had to be done. Time will tell.
  19. Ain't your avatar missing a number? I thought it was 332 not 32 Maybe in the south we can't get as high as they can at Yale:screwy:
  20. Can do. Gotta check what nights we DON'T have baseball practice. You okay with evenings (after turkey hunting)?
  21. I did like the ambush reporting part!
  22. Got to see the vid today. Uh, it was...something?
  23. It's held up well on the 870 it's on but I have probably only shot it 25 or 30 times in that configuration. That being said, all shots have been with 00 buck, slug or turkey shells so it's taken the gambit of 12 gauge 3 inch mags. I wouldn't have a problem mounting it on the Stoeger except for the problem of mounting it. I have found another saddle with pic rails that I could get for the P 350 but am not really wanting to go that route. Heck, for all I know there is a completely different bottom mount for the Fast Fires they sell with the Speed Bead shotgun mounts and it wouldn't work anyway. The saddle option may be my only option. Here is what she looks like on the 870.
  24. They don't look bad. It's your choice. There are plenty of folks that like the bumpers and they do help if you drop the mag. Kimber sells plenty of pistols with mags just like that (just not snaky) Do what you want. A Smith and Alexander mag well would look very nice around that mag and look great on 1911's though.
