  1. That .223 case gauge might roll under something on the bench and forget to go home though:death:
  2. This will be a "dutch" session. He gets to keep what he rolls!
  3. I'll have my youngest set to run him around the yard then! If he has a skateboard or anything that rolls, have him bring it, I'll clear the carport for riding.
  4. Yeah, when people are hitting a thread and you try to reply to the guy that just posted, you'll be three spots down by the time you reply and it doesn't make sense anymore!
  5. 56FordGuy, I seriously apologize for drifting YOUR thread. I get to typing in these like they were text messages.
  6. 6ish? I'll get some type of munchable set up (oh wife, where for art thou please) We can roll some ammo, then retire to the back porch and see how bad the mosquito's are. I'm throwing Win296 at mine so if you want to try a new powder just bring brass, bullets and primers. I can't remember what type of dies you used but mine are Lee and have done very well. You have a case gauge for .223 already don't you? I'm still just bringing an upper to the garage to test them for the "clink" going into the chamber. If you want to bring that I think we will have all we need.
  7. It's a reloading session Sun night Irish but your welcome to sit and sweat out in the shop with us. Shooting will be Monday afternoon (or should be depending on weather) Where and when exactly to be determined. Uker, bring what you want to load. I plan on only knocking out 30 or so and will then turn it over to you. We can check each other's work and trade war stories. PM being sent for you to google map the address.
  8. Amen 56 was ready to go but couldn't find any small pistol primers. I couldn't stand knowing he was ready to go so found 4 or 5 of them for him to practice with. So, Uker, we going to try and run a session tomorrow night? I'm having my folks up around 3 after Indy is hopefully over. I don't have to watch the Charlotte race, especially after tonight's Nationwide is pretty boring. 56, if you want to participate in some .223 rolling, it looks like we might pull this off finally. I have been promising Uker to show him how to reload for so long now that when he finally gets up here he can show me how to do it.
  9. Woot! That dusk shooting is fun to watch with the flashes. Now all we need is for your neighbors to all be warned and we do a little tracer shooting just after dusk one evening!
  10. I wasn't going to post the secret to it for numerous reasons but yeah, you seem to have found it:D
  11. I cannot say what I might do with a few of those silhouette looking posters.
  12. I go all the way cleaning the 10/22. It's a pain the first time to get the bolt back in as you have to compress the spring on the charging handle but there is a ton of junk that piles up in the top of the frame above the bolt. It appears you can get away without cleaning them that heavily but I don't mind. The .22 bore snakes are what really made cleaning these rifles a breeze though to me. You gotta take it all the way down just once so you see how simple the design is and maybe give you're local gunsmith some action when you can't get that darn spring to compress and get the bolt back in there!
  13. Still waiting on the upper to put this one on but Rock River is selling these for 47.50! Rock River Arms: RRA Hi-Rise Scope Mount
  14. I usually refer to both my Lyman and Lee reloading books, get the average of the two "middle" loads and start there. Always well below max load.
  15. I hope you subscribed Musicman. I would like you to spend the time to send further updates on the "Buck Wildness". I would but I'll be at the Red House buying furniture for a white man but black people can come sit on it if they want to.
  16. 56, I'm off Friday so if you have a short day or when you get in give me a shout and I'll bring you those primers. We could meet up at the Sideview market or the Bethpage store so you don't have to do much traveling.
  17. I might have one for sale if the price is right! Shipping would be free!
  18. See if this item looks like what you have for the shotgun rig. You'll see why I say it looks like its missing some of the containers. They may just not be attached right now. You have any components in the drawers or out of view? MidwayUSA - MEC Sizemaster Single Stage Shotshell Press 12 Gauge 2-3/4", 3"
  19. Any time. If you want some more details, get in a little closer on the items you have questions on. I'm very familiar with the Lee stuff and I'm sure someone can assist on the press on the left. It looks like pretty standard stuff.
  20. Being Daddy never stops, even when they know everything and you're just holding them back! Good job DAD !
  21. Looks like you have parts of a Lee Anniversary Kit. The press in the middle on the small bench is definitely a Lee aluminum press. The item mounted above the press is a powder thrower, you put your powder in the red plastic cylinder and use the graduated aluminum sleeve on the left to adjust how much powder each stroke of the little handle comes down from the small funnel. The two red cylinders to the right of the press are dies for pistol or rifle. You can look on the side of the sizing die and it should tell you what calibers. There should be some shell holders in those containers as well. The little silver and black item next to the die containers is a Lee Auto Primer. You put primers in the black tray and attach your case to it using a shell holder and press the primers in. Price for a new Lee Anniversary Kit is currently 89.00 at Midway but I got one for 59 two years ago. There should be a set of beam scales somewhere. MidwayUSA - Lee Challenger Breech Lock Single Stage Press Anniversary Kit Looks like you have some shell boxes below the middle bench as well for putting completed loads in. Did he leave you any old reloads in there? I'm not real familiar with shotgun reloading presses but the jumble of stuff on the wood bench to the left looks like a shot gun progressive of some sort but does not look complete. Since you have a bag of shotgun shells below the middle bench I would say he reloaded shotgun as well. I think its missing some components though like the powder and shot containers. You have the makings of a basic reloading bench. Someone else can weigh in on the shotgun reloading.
  22. Will do. Not much planned but we have rained out ballgames they may make up Saturday. I'm taking off Friday as well since very little going on at work right now, they are pushing us to burn up vacation. Pretty much any afternoon or evening looks pretty good right now. Even Monday.
  23. Just wanted to say Thanks and it was great to meet 56FordGuy today! I got to visit a little slice of heaven going up to his home and that's all I'll say on that. The rest of you will just have to wish you knew where he hangs his hat...just gorgeous! 56 is good people and we swapped brass, a Fobus Holster and gun stories. I'll see you this weekend with some goodies.
  24. Look at you Uker....you darn safety nut! You going to be around this weekend? I gotta run some primers down to 56FordGuy and figured I would find some time before or after Indy to roll something. Not that you need any guidance now, you gotz it down brother!
  25. How come I just got the picture of the Welcome committee from Animal House......there are a lot of great guys here, so don't feel you have to meet everyone. We just want you to enjoy yourselves while your here, I'd like you to meet Muhammed, Jugdish, Sydney and Clayton, and don't be shy about helping yourself to punch and cookies ..... Welcome to TGO gunlovingirl!
