I like this one. Good price, keeps sound and blast down and going the right direction http://www.surplusammo.com/saa-5-56mm-dragons-head-muzzle-brake-linear-compensator/

Best low cost pistol AR stripped lower currently?

Is it just me or is the side of those Anderson's really "busy" with the horse and writing on it? With the really big engraving, that would be my only complaint. -

Anderson and PSA seem to be of the same quality. I have one of each currently in the stable. -
That is an awesome price. Just built one though.

Here ya go OS. 10.5 inch 1/8 twist with Wylde chamber. It took a standard pistol length gas tube and a lo-pro .750 gas block http://www.ebay.com/itm/291195184195?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT And put together

We used to shoot my brothers Armalite 50 BMG off the hood of his truck. Recoil was negligible with a very similar brake on that rifle. So yeah, if that brakes done right, you could shoot it all day.

Very very nice.

I've got an Anderson lower on the pistol build I just did, no issues.

well so much for a southern light show. Meh

I'd be happier if it weren't going to be cloudy tonight. We might get to see aurora this far south with an event this size. I've only seen them once down here and it looked like a slightly blue/purple cloud. I was at the junction of 840 and 65 at the time headed to deer hunt so light pollution was an issue. That would be something to see though.

Do you and your neighbor have back up generators? In a truly screwed up situation, not to mention EMP attack, there is no power to anyone. I guess we may be mixing a "civil unrest" situation with the bigger SHTF scenarios. I'm not worried about the bigger city populations being pissed off about something. -

I don't think they will just randomly be shooting into homes. They will be looking for food, water, drugs etc as they move from the urban areas. So if you stay, block all but one entrance (the back one should stay open) and don't leave signs that say "come take my stuff". If they do come, take em at the door. Same scenario then as a home invasion. If they are in really large groups, your screwed anyway unless your neighborhood comes together with a defense plan. I'm not staying to develop that plan. Not defensible here. -

He needs to eliminate some of the variables. Lock the rifle down and take out the shooter and the red dot as issues. If rested it still shoots that poorly, it's ammo or twist. Buying a box of heavier grain bullets can then fully find out where the issue is.
-
Yep but it's not necessarily hard nor a loss on your part. Keep the 1/7 for longer range shooting and get you some 75 grain stuff (tracers are fun!) but buy you a nice 1/9 with a Wylde chamber and shoot the cheaper stuff when your not trying to go out past 250. This group and the info on AR15.com can walk you through a barrel swap. Heck, several of us, including myself, schedule permitting can have you swing by and swap out barrels.

You do your thing I'll do mine.......Montgomery Gentry Wedding ring is the only permanent addition to the body I'll ever have.

Lots of factors here. Dots are just that, a fairly big target area being shown. What twist rate on the barrel and what grain on the ammo? I ask because I was watching PSA for several months back when I was doing a "low cost" build and all they kept putting out was their 1/7 twist barrels which work better on the heavier grain bullets. I prefer 1/9 for 55 grains. Now the other factor not mentioned in the twist rate discussions is actual length of the bullets themselves while engaging the lands/grooves. It is mostly covered in that a larger grain bullet, like a 70 to 75 grain is going to be longer and thus have more surface contact based on the same caliber size. Were the holes perfectly concentric or did they keyhole? If they keyholed with that spread, I'm betting you have a 1/7 and were shooting 55 grainers. One other way to eliminate some of the data is to lock your rifle down in a bench rest so you remove the "shooter" from the equation.

So beer should work........oops, forget I said that.

Been on it about a year and a half here as well and same thing as Mike. I get a dry cough every now and then but started at 20 mg and about 6 months ago asked the doc to reduce to 10 mg and am still maintaining good numbers. The cough hasn't been a big enough issue to ask about changing. It made me sluggish and sleepy the first few days I started on it but since then, no issues.

A good portion of America (and the world for that matter) has no soul, no ethics and no inhibitions anymore. Anyone can be offended for any reason and somewhere there is someone that will back them up as being the victim. Somewhere a group is waiting for this women to come to the spotlight so they can show us how unreasonable you were.
