TGO Guns & Leather Shoot August 30th @ 5pm
Rightwinger replied to Metalhead's topic in Events and Gatherings
You don't have pricing on paper for your Duracoating yet do you David? Would be an opportunity. -
I have cancelled several orders with them in the past but did get a few good deals back in 06. They really seem to have fallen off as they got more popular. The ownership apparently is making enough money that they don't feel the need to increase staffing to work through this. I don't even bother ordering from them anymore.

Mid-Tenn TGO Motorcycle Ride
Rightwinger replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Events and Gatherings
I may look him up. I trust Precision down in the Providence area but they are a regular dealer and charge at those rates. Plus I have to load the bike in the truck. I'm going to go to the shop Tuesday and get my bike, fixed or not from these folks. -
Mid-Tenn TGO Motorcycle Ride

Make that three!! TDR, I would like to meet up with you in H'ville that morning before we head to the staging point if that's okay. (assuming I have a bike to ride, one week in the shop for a fuel leak and they can't even call to tell me what's wrong) Holler -
New web site for the Mid-South Guns & Gear Expo ... Feedback wanted
Rightwinger replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Great start. Would suggest a different map on the When and Where and Vendor pages. -
Got any cedar nearby? Get a few boughs and make a small smokey fire and run your clothes through the smoke. It works and its not as offensive to you since you have to smell it all day.

Where is TNT Performance? I have thought about having a new pipe and re-jetting it to match it but this Suzuki needs some special care to do it! The jets are not accessible without drilling the body of the carb. I have not found anyone that I was comfortable with doing this!
-
LOL ! I have no idea what's wrong, I came home three times to find gas leaking from one of the carb's overflow tubes for no reason. Some valve is not releasing that's supposed or releasing when it's not. Paul's repair up here has been asked to fix it once and did not so they have a second chance. If they can't find the problem and fix, it's off to Precision down in Mt. Juliet (Providence). It will be fixed by time for this ride one way or another.

Awesome! Now if I can get my bike out of the shop. Seems Murphy read this great thread and went outside and jumped dead in my bike. The puddle of gas under it confirmed it. Should be good to go by then though. Nice job TDR.

no one's listening

That was a cat and you know it. Good job!

Set it as primary route ONE and see if anyone can talk you out of it! What about this as a eating possibility? Scroll down to the restaurant info for David Crockett State park. Right on Hwy 64 TN State Parks: David Crockett State Park

I have to chime in a negative on this one as well. I went and scouted the area near the big stream/creek east of the main airbase where the north/south road meets the big east west. Sorry I can't recall the names. I went in day light and used a few reflective thumb tacks to mark my route back out to the road. When I went in, I was the only truck on that road and thought, wow, this will be great, we all must be really spread out. The first problem was as soon as I turned on my flashlight, there were markers in many areas as well as that damn flourescent tape hanging from limbs. I knew I had parked really close to my original entrance point as I marked the mileage in 10ths but I could not tell which path in was mine so I just started in. Well, after settling in and waiting for the sun to rise, I heard lots of vehicle traffic from that road which was about 500 yards away. I then saw a light walking in on me. I did the normal hunters etiquette of shining my light back in their direction to wave them off but they kept coming. Finally they stopped and turned south from me after I held the light on them! I could hear the guy muttering something but it's always been what I thought common courtesy that in group or public areas, first in gets the spot! Closer to sunrise I saw and heard several other hunters coming in and setting up (climbing) and it sounded like a rock concert to me. About 10 am I hadn't even seen a squirrel I climb down and pack up the climber, head to the truck. When I get to the road, there is a truck or car every hundred yards or closer! I went and got some lunch and went north of that area for the afternoon hunt. I purposefully found an area where there were no vehicles and went in again. This hunt was also a turkey hunt option with archery equipment. I started hearing guys using calls an hour or so after I got settled in. I did finally see a doe come running by but she was so spooked by all the people in the woods that she never slowed down. I guess she had heard that sound everyone uses to stop a deer 40 times because as soon as I gave a short one, she picked up speed instead of stopping to find out what was going on. To many people, with so little hunting etiquette made that my one and only trip. I guess if you live within 30 miles it might be worth it but not from north of Nashville. YMMV

From the Highway 100 entrance to the exit at Highway 64 is probably about 75 miles and Lawrenceburg is another 20 east. I don't think anyone will have any issues if they start off at full tank.

Set the ride route first and then folks can chime in what to see and where to eat along or near it. Sadly, I can not do Hooters any longer so its out. A route to a gun friendly eatery would be double plus delicious! I throw my recommendation in on your choice, the Natchez Trace. Have driven it for years as an alternate route to go hunting down in Wayne Co. I will say there is no good place to eat in the areas I get off at (Hohenwald and Waynesboro) just the usual McDs and Sonic, etc. But if someone knows something in Centerville, Columbia or even further south that I just haven't heard or know about, rock on. A nice big loop could be Trace down to 64 near Waynesboro then 64 east through Lawrencburg and Pulaski to 65, then back up by choice. This would allow those in the east area (Winchester) to just keep on 64 and go, the rest can come up 31 or 65. Just input, I just want to ride with you all.
