  2. Borat was funny, Bruno was way over the top with gayness, there were some funny moments.
  3. I was thinking about solar panels the other day, and was wondering how it would work in TN. 2 things that came to my mind, 1: How would it fair in tornadoes? and 2: when ever i am in nashville, i find the skies covered with clouds. any input?

    Ruger Mark 3

A quick few minute instruction by someone who knows the gun well seem to do the trick. The Ruger MK series is built like a rock, they shoot well and can be accesserized easily. It is easy to take apart and put back together just work with it a few times.
  7. Welcome to TGO, also if you are looking at finding ways to keep and bear arms in Ca visit calguns.net it is full of useful info for Ca gun owners.
  8. The Nagant is a beast, with no other rifle have I taken 20 rounds to the range and have come back with some rounds remaining. Once i shot 25 rounds and my shoulder was hurting for 2 days.

    Advice on 45 carry

when I get to TN my CCW would be a SA MicroCompact 1911. they are so easy to conceal. I believe 1911 make some of the better concealment weapons, due to their naturally narrow profile.

    Update from SIG SAUER

The factory Sig rep was in our store and i asked him about the crap boxes and only one mag. He said they had so many guns but not enough mags since MegGAr could not keep up, so they started shipping them with one mag. However guns manufactured after June 3 2009 would have 2 mags. And i see they are already using better boxes.
  11. You can get a combloc side mount with their scope, most people just do that. the Saiga already has the mounting bracket for it. As far as red dots go you could most likely be able to install an AK railed gas tube cover, but to think about it i dont think it would work.

    duracoat opions

I don't believe duracoat can hide flaws. it is simply a rugged coating( if cured properly). I've duracoated some stuff and it works fine, in certain colors it may even rise the value IMHO.

    Rental Ranges

I took my wife to Gun City when we were engaged, nice friendly people a small selection of firearms for rent, my wife is now scared of guns because of the dark under ground range. I'd recommend an outdoor range for first timers.
  14. what is your budget? that can be helpfull as far as giving ideas. what are the features you are looking for in your first handgun? do you want a single/double or single action only or double action only? Metal frame or polymer? As far as caliber i'd go with 9mm over 380acp price is better and has more ummph less snappy as well.
  15. my thoughts exactly. what size paper are we supposed to print the target on? 8x11?

    S&W Sigma .40VE

the Sigmas are decent guns, i believe they are well made, if you can live with the trigger then. I kinda like the trigger, for some odd reason. at the range i've had people bringing me the gun saying it broken and does not shoot well, and then i go and shoot the x ring with it.
  17. Nice, i am diggin' that bench.
  18. Thanks Phantom, the rock n roll part is funny, i still am laughing no body likes Nancy Pelosi. I'm having my brother in-law look up some houses for me, even though all my friends and family are here, just want to get out of Ca.
  19. the ruger MK series are a great choice. the look requires but getting used to but they are a great platform to tinker with. taken apart and putting back together is a pain for new shooters but ones you get used to it is a breeze, price is not bad, I dont like the 22/45s however.

    FNH 5-7

good gun accurate, low recoil, did i mention accurate. not the most dependable gun i've owned but you keep it super clean and it works fine. ammo is not bad you can get them at around $19 per 50 if you look around.

    G17 or XDM9mm?

I find the factory XDM trigger to be a bit smoother than the factory glock17, however, you can put a 3lbs glock 34 trigger in your 17. XDM give you the choice of adjustable back straps, the glock does not. glock is a more simple gun, so when something breaks you can fix it yourself, with the XD you don't have that choice. personally I don't like either, I am more accurate with a XD than i am with glocks. but you can rapid fir a glock better. go with whichever gun you feel better with and shoot better with.

    G17 or XDM9mm?

When i help people choose a gun i tell them 3 thing to look for, does it fit your hand, does it fit your wallet and does it have sex appeal. all that said I'd prefer the Glock over the XD.
  23. What is/was it called, i might be able to get it running.
  24. I like my E.German Mak, they are simple, effective and shoot well. Ammo is cheap, and they eat up all kinds of dirty ammo without a heck up. by the way the deadliest warrior is crap.
  25. Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. If things work out seems like i'll be moving by Sept. I'm thinking of going back to school, new GI Bill is awesome, for service-members who served after 9/11 they even pay for your housing, and books. As for as work I guess I'll try to find a gun store to work in.
