As the others stated, leave the M38 in its original form. Get the Savage, 308win is a great round for both hunting and target shooting.

You are on the right track. A converted Saiga would be fine, Arsenal is selling them for between 5-7 hundred dollers. Now some more options for you. If I were you I'd keep the AR and buy an AK, that would be otion one. ( i am a gun whore and the more i have the happier i am even if i don't get to shoot them often ) Option 2 is sell your upper and buy a 6.8SPC or 6.5 Grendel upper. If you are not into the whole direct impengment thing, then buy one with a gas piston and live happily everafter.

Stoeger is not a bad gun they are mainly Turrkish made with some decent quality. For under $600 you can look at the Benelli Nova Tactical, not sure if there are any Big5 stores in Tn but they usually have them advertised at 399.99. You can also look at Saiga 12, the basic model is under 600. And ofcourse you can always look at the used racks most stores hvae one can find some sweet deals on some quality guns there.

They are let's say codes for the size of the pistol. Government is full size-5 inch barrel and full grip. Commander is 4 inch with a shorter grip and Officer is 3.5 inch with a tiny grip.

For that price I'd go with the Walther P99.

For 55 bucks i don't think so, cough up another 30 or 40 and go with Badger, it might not be quik release at that price however.

You can sand down the stock a bit, I don't believe it would hurt any. you can also look at glass or aluminum bedding.

No EDC yet, as i am new to Tn and have not had the chance to go to a class, mainly cuz of the cold. I really like the Walther P99 series. I first bought the P99c, mainly because it looked good to me, at first shoot i hated it, because if its heavies trigger. But as i kept shooting it I started loving it. It shoots super accurate for a little pistol. At 10 yards I've had 3 or 4 rounds in the same hole many times, not sure if i mentioned it but it is a 9mm, the 40sw has a 8 round mag. If I am to carry right now it would be the p99c. I have not shot the full size p99 as much so i really can't say much about it. I do perfer the AS trigger much more however, it has a true single/double action trigger.

Oh the Glock, I don't have one. maybe one day a Glock23 if i find one for $200. EDC?
