  1. Afternoon all,

So after hitting Coal Creek a few times and trying a bunch of their rental guns, and firing a friends P99 and XD9 SC, I've decided that the XD9 SC is the gun for me. I really like the grip safety option, the gun shoots well, handles well, good for EDC, etc, so it's time to go shopping...

I had originally thought that the best options would be to have the bi-tone with night sights, so this is what I shopped around for locally (Knoxville), but after reading over at XDTalk, I'm wondering about my choices.

Prices seem to be fairly even:

Gander Mnt (Black on Black) = $549

Coal Creek (Bi Tone) = $549

    Austins (Bi Tone) = $569

Night Sights are $100 (installation is $20 some places, free at others)

Obviously I could buy it online or elsewhere, have it transfered for a fee.

    My main questions are:

What are your thoughts on the finish? Is the bi-tone just for looks or does the finish have advantages/disadvantages?

What are your thoughts on the night sights vs laser? Crimson Trace grip laser is an option, Lasermax laster, etc.

What are your thoughts on the price? Is it worth having it shipped in from elsewhere, or just suck it up and pay a few bucks more for local?

Any other thoughts about this choice?

    Thanks

    Gareth

  2. What didnt you like about it?

I didn't like much of anything about it to be honest, I guess I'm just not into the whole Asian look/feel/sound of games.

It was the little things that annoyed me the most: not being able to rotate while casting, not being able to invert the mouse, the annoying emotes when chatting, etc. They may have fixed some of those by now though.

Looking forward to Borderlands being released, hope it's not as disappointing.

  3. I tried calling the number on the website, mailbox is full. I'll try the admin number above.

EDIT: Well the above number is the Domains by Proxy, Inc numbers. Not a customer of theirs so they won't help me. I'll just let the bank figure the crap out

  4. That card should have been shutdown by the bank...first and foremost. Doesn't matter about pending charges, they still can be shutdown.

Yeah, I didn't shut it down this morning bc I was still trying to figure out if the first instance was a legit charge I'd made. This 2nd was is definately not mine, so the card is now shut down.

  5. Definatly call your CC 800 number on the back of it...

I spoke to them this morning. The transaction is still "Pending" on the account, so there isn't much they can do until it changes to "Posted".

Guess I'll wait and see what happens...

  6. Find a contact number for XBC Forestry and call them to correct it.

Then if you still can't get it fixed call your bank.

Really it may well be a innocent mistake. Happened on me one time. Phone call fixed it.

I looked on Google for a contact number but I wasn't able to find anything for X BC Forestry, or XBC Forestry, in or around North Hampton, VA. If anyone is able to find anything I'd gladly call them first before going through the bank.

I bank with 5/3 and they're great at taking care of issues like this, so I've no doubt they'll take care of it tomorrow for me.

  7. First thanks for the donation man! I checked my account, my wife's and checked with a few other people who donated and no one else got hit with that so hopefully you can scratch the MS Society off your list.

I've never had any issues with the TGO stuff either so it my be one of the others or just one of those things.

    Thanks for checking.

  8. Hey,

Wondering if anyone here as seen a charge on their CC from anything resembling this:

X BC FORESTRY, NORTH HAMPTON, VA

I have an account that I rarely use except for play stuff. In the past 6 months I've used it at the following merchants:

    Supply Capt

    Coal Creek Armory

    TGO (Hat purchase and Membership)

MS Society (Donation per this thread - http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/25203-help-my-cousin-please-read.html)

Today I have a $20.00 pending charge from whatever X BC Forestry is.

Hopefully it's nothing except my own forgetfulness, but I'm doubting it, and the bank will take care of it tomorrow. I'm just wondering if anyone else here got hit this morning, especially those who purchased a hat/membership/donation, as those are the most recent charges.

    Thanks

    Gareth

  9. Defrag and Checkdisk wouldn't hurt.

Open up "My Computer", right click your "C" drive, choose "Properties", select the "Tools" tab.

From there, choose "Defragment Now" to start the defrag utility, or choose "Check Now" to run checkdisk.

Checkdisk will tell you it needs exclusive access to the disk and will run at the next restart, so you may have to hold the power button down to shut the PC off and let it run at the next boot.

  10. I think a lot of adults are interested in shooting/protecting themselves they just need someone to lead them in the right direction.

This is me. Very little exposure to shooting, and when I did have chances when I was younger I let them pass me by.

I think a lot of other people are in the same situation.
