  1. Hey, tell me what you invest a lot of time and energy into so that I can make spiteful comments about it and then we can compare notes. :koolaid:

Exactly, you invest a lot of time and energy into something that is not simply a place to discuss firearms, TGO is a lot more than that. With the events sponsorship, regional co-ordinators, attire, etc, TGO is becoming more and more like a business, which is fine. I supported you with my benefactor and attire purchases, so I'm all for you turning TGO into whatever you can...

...however, as THE representitive of this forum, allowing the jacked up opinion of one member to provoke such a reaction seems very uncalled for.

It's your forum, and you can behave like a dictator if you choose to (and I base this on the "something accidentally happens to your account" comment you made), but it's not what I expected to see from you, or anyone else associated with TGO.

  2. Thanks for making it clear that you're a douche! :koolaid:

The ability to use the forum is free as it always has been. The ability to use the forum to sell your gear, isn't... but neither is selling your crap in the classifieds of your local paper or on the Local Sales Network site (or whatever it's called) or on Gunbroker or anywhere else similar for that matter. But hey, thanks for giving me the big EFF YOU by including that last statement. It makes me feel good about providing TGO to the 90% of the membership who don't support the site at all.

You'll just have to excuse me for not jumping through my ass to fix your account if something accidentally happens to it. Especially since you went out of your way to tell me just how much you never intend to support the TGO community.

Regardless of the attitude of some members of the forum, this is not a very professional response.

  3. Well crap. Anybody got a suggestion about what to try to fix this?

I'm assuming you can connect to other websites just fine using the Comcast connections?

A good starting point would be to verify if you can't connect at all, or just can't connect by name (DNS resolution):

Open up a Command Prompt, and type: ping www.tngunowners.com and then press Enter.

You should get 4 replies back from the server.

If they fail, ping by IP address, type: ping 72.44.88.31 and press Enter.

You should get 4 replies back from the server.

If it works by IP, but not by name, you have a DNS issue, and you should probably place a call to Comcast.

  4. I've ran the RC and RTM versions on my machine and in VMs, and my wife runs the RC on her Dell laptop.

So far it's been running great. I put the 64-bit version on my wifes machine, and it choked on iTunes and a couple of other apps, but updates to those apps seemed to fix things up.

Compatibility Mode isn't a VM, it's just a setting for the app that changes how the OS treats the executable.

All in all I'm pleased with the way 7 is running. New versions of the drivers and apps come out all the time, so hopefully it'll only get better.

  5. At the HCP class I took on Saturday this issue was brought up time and time again. Every bullet has a financial obligation (or a lawyer) attached to it.

Even had a rep for Pre-Paid Legal come in and talk to us for 15 mins or so about pre-paid legal services, not so much regarding the person you shoot, but any damage you might cause with bullets that miss, injuries to bystanders, the FAMILY of the BG suing you, etc, etc.

  6. If you already have Malwarebytes installed, rename MBAM.EXE to something else, and try running it again.

If you don't have it installed, download and install it, rename MBAM.EXE to something else, and give it a try.

    By default MBAM.EXE will be in c:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

EDIT: You could also try the same thing with any other anti-spyware programs you have, just rename the main executable.

  7. That said, I bought some ammo at Gander mountain today (apparently they keep all the 9mm behind the counter) and it ran $20 for 50 rounds. That's twice as much as WM.

I was in Gander the other day looking at ammo. The aluminium casing 9mm was just under $20/50 and the brass casing 9mm was just under $15/50.

They had both the Remington UMC and Blazer Brass 9mm at $15. Limit 2 boxes though.

  8. I'd imagine you could get one used significantly cheaper... perhaps with aftermarket sights already installed.

Yeah, I looked on gunbroker.com and at the For Sale section here, but for some reason buying a used gun as my first ever gun purchase just gives me the willies. I need to get past that.
