That looks like a job well done. One question though, are you not concerned with how hot a black floor will get in the summer sun?

That's frightening; they're going to work hard to fix it. Mr. President, just stop! Please just effing stop! Look where your "hard work" has got us so far. He is someone I really would like to kick in the nuts.

It's the same ole sh!t anytime one of these bastards gets what coming to him. I have never heard a family go on tv and say, "Yep, he was a piece of shit. Always did think he was a worthless asshole. He deserved to get shot." Frankly, I think the shooter did society a great service. I wish more of these thugs would get ventilated at a young age. Why should we wait until they become "hardened criminals?"

I've never shot there, but I might have to try it out some day. It's just hard to go to ranges when you're used to being able to shoot at your own pace without having to worry about what some idiot next to you is doing.

Haha. I'd just leave it. That's kinda a cool name. You're "vintage."

I have some private land I shoot on. Why do you ask?

So this is more of a thread to tell you about some good customer service I received while buying a new rifle. I recently decided I wanted a Remington 700 Varmint gun in .308. I was in our local Dunham's store in Tullahoma, TN on Friday looking at one they had in stock. Their price was high, but the manager informed me that if I came back on Saturday, it would be $100 off. I was happy with that, and decided I would come back and get it. Upon returning to the store, I noticed that the tag on the rifle said it came with a scope; a 3-9x40 un-named brand. I asked the clerk what scope it came with, and he said he did not know, whatever was in the box, probably a low end Bushnell. I was not really planning to get a scope, so any scope was a nice bonus. I had to go back to the front to pay for a background check, and when I returned, the manager and the clerk had the box there with no scope. They said that there was not supposed to be a scope with it; the tag was mistaken. The manager said he could make me a really good deal on a scope, but I had not brought enough cash to pay for a scope as well. I told him I was not prepared to buy one that day, and he said alright, let me see what I can do. To make a long story longer, he gathered up ring, bases, and a scope to include with the gun. After all this, it was time to complete the purchase. When the gun rang up and the tally was calculated, the gun did not ring up at the appropriate discounted price. I informed them that I did not think that was correct, and they promptly corrected the price. In the end, it was a little bit of hassle and took a little longer than most purchases, but I was reassured that even though this is a big box store, not a local business, their customer service was most upstanding. For all you "pics or it didn't happen" crowd, here's the obligatory gun porn. The freebie scope will only be staying until I decide what glass I want to really put on it. I use my truck fairly often around the farm and such, so I wanted a tire that was a little beefier and had more bite than the typical LT tire. The last tires I bought were a set of General Grabber AT2. When these wear out, I will buy another set without question. These tires have worn longer and more even than any tire I've ever had. They have great traction offroad and are well behaved on road. I do not remember the exact cost, but I know they were reasonable from Wal-Mart. I know a bunch of people hate on wal-mart, but since I've had these tires, I have lived in about 5 different states for 1-6 months at a time. It was nice to go to any store and get them rotated and balanced for free. At this time, they have about 60K miles on them, and I suspect I'll get another 10-15K out of them.

I am certainly interested, but I too would need some pricing and FFL information. Do we have any idea on where we would have to go to get them and how much they will cost?

thompson center 50 caliber left loaded from last year
dats82 replied to Peevee's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
The only concern I would have is if he was an idiot and loaded it with a powder that would be unacceptable to use in a black powder rifle, like modern or smokeless powder. I have shot guns that I had left loaded for close to two years without worry, but I knew with which powder they were loaded. -
Who watches TV the old fashioned way for free and not cable ?
dats82 replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
Yeah, they still work. My grandmother used a converter box with a tv that was probably older than that. I nixed cable several months ago and went with the antenna, I have a newer tv, so I did not need the converter. Either way, there are obviously no promises on how many channels you'll get, but if you're like me and only turn the tv on once or twice a week, you'll probably be just fine with whatever ones you do get. -
I was set up with my wife on kind of a blind date. Told her I was glad I had met her, but I did not want a relationship. Got to know her a little better and realized she was one of the most caring and selfless persons I had ever met, not to mention I did, and still do, find her attractive. She stuck with me through school, even though I had no time for her or anyone else. One day, I finally realized that I did't think I could ever get through life without her. She is the only person I could ever see growing old with or having children together, so I decided I should keep her around. I love her more everyday, and every morning when I leave her, I look forward to getting home to see her that evening. I know people bitch and moan about marriage all the time, but I will say that mine is great. I love my wife.

I was at walmart this morning, and they had a pretty good amount of magnums. I probably would not shoot it much as a plinker, but I think it would be a good truck gun to help control the pet population.
-
I'd be interested in one in a magnum version. Hopefully it won't be like many of the other new products that make you wait about a year before the crazy prices settle out.

I have an SR9C, but I don't have a CZ. With that said, I cannot really compare them, but I will say that I love the sr9c as a carry gun. I have no intentions of going with anything different at this time. Although it a smaller gun, it points and shoots really well, and with an 11 rd capacity and a spare 17 rd mag, I have never felt like I would need more rounds. In my opinion (which I will admit that I am a Ruger fan), these guns, both the sr9 and sr9c, are hard to beat for the price you pay for them. I cannot tell you they are the best 9mm, because for one, I have not owned enough different 9mm to make that claim and two, what is best for one person is not what is best for the next.

Many bites don't really require antivenin. However, few providers are really experienced in treating snake bites and therefore over treat. It is exceedingly rare for anyone in this country to die from a venomous snake, and just because you are bitten by a venomous snake, that does not imply that you need any antivenin at all. In this area of the country where only pit vipers have been reported, the indication for antivenin is how painful the wound is. Even if you know it was a rattler or copperhead that hit you, if your pain is localized only to the site of the bite, antibiotics and a tetanus shot will probably serve you just fine. Granted extractors may help improve the long term effects of possible necrosis and the need for tissue debridements, I seriously doubt it will have any affect on your overall survival. For someone to say that, without an extractor, you wouldn't make it to the hospital is just asinine in my book.

I enjoyed Central BBQ. It's hard to say if it is the best I've ever had, but it was good. I know this is a bit off topic, but this thread got me thinking, if I had to call a best from a restaurant, I'd probably go with Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City. Over all, Kansas City BBQ doesn't live up to all the hype, but I do like Arthur Bryant's from the original location.

My wife asked what she should do if someone tried to stop her on the road. That's pretty simple, you run their ass over. There is no way I would be stopping for somebody trying to block the road.

What would that look like? Given the government is the reason he's in this mess, if I were GZ, they would be the last sons of bitches I would ever entrust with my safety.

Thanks for the info, but I was a step too late on this one. Maybe I'll catch the next deal.

I shot a Sig a few months ago, and loved it. I came across a German p226 for sale, but I was hoping come of ya'll could give me a bit of advice on its worth. Comes with box and 3 mags. In pretty good shape. Don't think it has night sights. Thank you all in advance.

It was pretty good work then.

Should've shot his tires out; that's the way it's done in the movies. I'm kidding obviously. Pulling a gun would have only made things worse. Is he an asshole because he did not merge? Yes. Would you have been an asshole for pulling your gun and making the situation worse? Yes. Of course this is just my internet expert opinion. :)
