    help on mini 14

Ruger customer service is great. I think that would be my first course of action given the comment about them being hard to work on. Just look at the Ruger website for the correct number to call. On a side note, my friend had a 22/45 that had a casing explode or something, but it broke the loaded chamber indicator. He called them, they paid for shipping both ways, replaced the broken part, replaced all the springs, and had it back to him in less than two weeks for no charge at all. Excellent service.
  2. Thanks for the info everyone. That avatar is the most awful thing I have seen in a while. I get a nauseous feeling just looking at her.
  3. I am sorry to hear that man. I guess I have been in the shoes of your grandsons. I know it is hard for both parties. My prayers will be with your family.
  4. So I have been seeing these things popping up, and I have run across several different models available for sell. I know nothing about these guns, and I was hoping some of you all could clue me in on any models better than others and prices on those. I guess what I am really getting at, are these worth having? Thank you for any input.
  5. The take down on the mk pistols is really not that bad. I have heard horror stories about it, but seriously, I can pull mine down in about two minutes. Detail stripping takes a little longer naturally, but field stripping is really fairly simple. I am not trying to despute eapking, but I have never had to use a hammer on mine.
  6. It appears there is no hope. I did a quick Google search for "sigs suck," and it was all about mail signatures. Looks like you are just going to have to get it.
  7. I have a mk III and love it. I think if you are going to be mainly plinking, you would have more fun with an auto verse a single action. I have a single action in a 22. It is cool and all, but if I had to pick one based on overall enjoyment, it would be the mk III.
  8. That is awesome. I love how his buddies sit there and watch him.
  9. I agree, it is all about the proper grip to control the recoil. Just do a little research, spend a little range time, and it will probably grow on you. If you have been looking about getting one, this seems like a good one to get.
  10. You might not could shot him, but I sure as hell could make a good case for running over a jaywalker. Actually, looking at the video, as soon as he was on the driver side of the vehicle, I think the driver could have used deadly force for sure. I will be damned if I would just sit there thinking a piece of glass is sufficient protection.
  11. That is a blackmail photo for sure later in life. Sounds like fun times!

    Well, Son of a B****

    What!?!?!? Alcohol and guns!!!!!
  13. I think you did well. I am pretty sure I would have been straight to "red" as well; I think someone coming into your house uninvited automatically takes you there. I am glad you were finished with your business when this all happened. I know someone who had the BG come into the bathroom while they were on the throne. The only good think about that is they were in an appropriate position to have the scared out of them.
  14. The most reliable bulk ammo I have found is the Federal stuff. I have had a bunch of duds in both Winchester and Remington's stuff. The only bulk I use is copper dipped. Maybe the lead stuff is different, but I doubt it.
  15. He is not looking at a .380. The Bursa he is referring to is a 9mm.

    A TGO PSA

like that makes me believe the whole bit about a democracy being doomed to failed once the public realizes they can vote themselves a check from the public till. These type of actions will be the demise of the country if they are not gotten back into check.
  17. I have one with the stock rosewood grips. They still very managable even though you are basically holding it with one finger. It is pretty snappy, but not bad. You will not have any problem with the small grips. Main time is carry mine is when I am floating the river or around the farm. I keep about two or three rds of snake repellent with two or three rds of hollow points behind that to repell the larger problems. I also usually go with the cci, but I cannot remember the grain.
  18. What does this have to do with the price of tea in China?
  19. I agree. Loaded mags at a relatively constant temp are not going to wear out. The only time a loaded mag will wear out the spring is with large fluctuations in temperature, but you do not need to worry about this.
  20. I carry the speed strips for a 38/357. They work great. They are a little slower to reload, but much better to carry.
  21. Pick a pretty day and make the drive. Beautiful area up there. Best way to gauge the program is to go talk to the students and faculty in the program. If anything, it will be a nice road trip. While you are there, eat at Pal's; there is just something great about those places.
  22. Many of the docs I know carry. They are not blind to the issues. Next time you go in, just ask him straight-up what the deal is with the sign. You have already brought it up, so it is not like you will be blowing your cover.
  23. I have never used the 9mm, but the 22 shot shells would not cycle in my mark III.
  24. I think Wesson needs a friend named Smith.

    BUG

I personally would shy away from the Kel-Tec. I had a p11 that broke, not just malfunction, but actually broke. Of the people I know with p32 and p3at, 3 out of 4 had to be sent back for repairs or malfunctions. I am not a fan of the BUG, but if I do feel the need to carry one, I have a NAA mini revolver in a 22 mag. You might want to check into that.
