  1. Seems like the only reason this would be a bad idea is that you would have to be pushing a much higher pressure to achieve the high velocity with the heavier bullet. I am really not up too much on all the reloading and ammunition stuff, but it seems that to achieve this you would have to be using a gun rated for +p as well as a fairly lengthy barrel. Not like rifle long, but at least a full size pistol.

    Car towing tips

No, it is no different then if you kick it, and it down shifts. When you get off the gas, it shifts back to OD. Just make sure not to over shoot past OD.

    My first AR

Are you left handed? How do you operate the light?
  4. If you can look at the from the front and it looks extactly the same from the back, it is non-directional. Directional treads often have a "V" shape to the tread or some other design which you can see is not symmetrical. Most radial tires are not directional especially if it is an off-brand lt.
  5. As mentioned above, the only problem is that this reverses rotation. This is not a problem other than if it is directional tread or if the tires are over loaded and starting to seperate. If you have the later going on, you have problems anyway. I always rotate mine between the sides with no problems. They are some Wal-Mart specials going on 80k miles.
  6. I would consult your agent as to if the ticket will hurt your rates. If not, then pay it and get on with things. The only ticket I have ever had ended up costing me the fine, the court cost, and 16 hrs of community service. If I were not worried about insurance, it would have been much easier and cheaper to pay the fine.
  7. I also agree with the two inexpensive option. It seems to me with my experience that small game hunting is hard on rifles as far as carrying them alot and putting scratches in them. You would be well served by buying a used gun that you are not worried about putting some blimishes in it. Hit up the pawnshops or the various local gun sale pages online.
  8. There is someone from the state office monitoring this thread. They must just be dicking with you. Sometimes all you can do it laugh .... and then send the form back.

    Beaver Habits?

They do indeed dig. That is the main reason they are a problem. I would not be too sure about it being dog food. If it is a good size one, it will be a bit of a fight. My grandmother's dog is now blind in one eye from a ground hog encounter. If I were you, I would make it disappear next time I saw it, if you know what I mean.
  10. Mine took over 90 days. When I started approaching the 90 day mark, I got on the phone. Finally, after about three and half months, I got ahold of a lady at the state office. Her response was, "hang on, let me check." She gets back to the phone and said, "Here it is, it will be sent out today." I was like WTF, how long has it been sitting there? Oh well, I have it now. It is about time to renew, so that may be another adventure.

    Beaver Habits?

Ground hog perhaps? They will fight a little bit with a dog.
  12. I usually carry mine with the CCI mags, whatever they call them, or snake shot. Just try to get the heaviest bullet you can in a hollow point for PD. Most the time I am carrying mine is when I am on the farm or on the river and snakes are more of the concern; however, I do keep a mixed cylinder in the event of a more personal threat. I have never had any issues with mine. It sees some pretty dusty pockets at times, and it has always gone bang when I have pulled it out to use it. It is not my ideal weapon for personal protection, but it is certainly better than the .45 I had to leave in the truck.
  13. If you do not have to tuck your shirt, you do not have a problem. Just get a good belt holster or a paddle holster and fill it with whatever you like. It is amazing what you can hide under an untucked shirt.
  14. I knew there was another reason I was republican, but I never could put my finger on it. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
  15. I have seen one shoot, but I have never shot one. The guy I saw shoot one, it surprisingly went bang everytime. He shot a full box of 9mm through it that day, and I do not recall a single malfunction. However, this was the second one he had. The first one would f-up somehow about every other shot. I think it is a crap shoot. No pun intended. I say put on some heavy leather gloves, and take her to town or at least as far as she will go.
  16. This is another one of those situations that are best if you stay quite. I certainly would not have an ar or ak in my car; that is pretty hard to justify if you are trying to say it was for your protection during your commute. However, I do know what I would do if I were in your situation, and I would not be driving around Memphis, especially that area, without at least my carry weapon. I think the whole guns on campus thing is federal law, and one of my friends was an ATO at Ole Miss when the ATO house burned down. He was saying when the firemen and police came, there were guns in the house, and nothing ever came from it. In fact, the owners of the weapons carried them out and put them in their vehicles that were obviously parked on campus. Like the good rapper so eloquently said, "Don't start no *****, there won't be no *****."
  17. Not a waste, but like I said earlier, put some water with it to make it not so sweet. For each gatorade, drink that much or maybe twice as much water.
  18. Quite frequently there is also an element of rhabdomyolysis associated with "over doing it." If you have experienced a overly active day and have exerted yourself more than usual, as is often the case with heat related problems, and you let your electrolytes get out of whack, it is not unreasonable to suspect you have damaged your muscles. This can also help explain the dark urine. If Mike had done a urinalysis on the dark urine, I would not be surprised to see 4+ protein. The renal system is amazing, and it can handle massive amounts of fluid. Drinking too much water with hyponatremia will cause the kidneys to dump more water. It is essential to replinish the Na to keep the water in the system. Water follows Na.
  19. It is important to remember that you are not just sweating water. Many of the symptoms are due to electrolyte imbalances. To properly stay hydratated, you also have to take in the other stuff; this is the purpose of Gatorade or Powerade or any of the other sports drinks. Generally, I think they have too much sugar in them to drink while I am working, but I will often water them down and try to use the G2 Gatorade. It is scary how easy it is to get yourself in trouble with the heat. Really, once you realize you are too hot or dehydrated, you are so far behind, it is hard to get caught up if you keep trying to work.
  20. Back to the OP. That is an awesome video. Those type of videos are cool anyway, but that song with it knocks it out of the park. Very cool.
  21. Last time I was there, you were good to go. I carried there last summer.
  22. That is great. I too would hire her.
  23. I have not put mine on the scale, but I am going to guess about 14 lbs. Needless to say, when you put a 20 in ss bull barrel on one, the whole weight issue is shot. My next AR will be more of a light weight carbine.
  24. When they are under fire for how they have handled the situation and want to make it look as good as possible, YES.
