    Auction prices

I think that is often just actions in general. People just seem to get caught up in bidding and forget what a reasonable price is.
  2. It only shows back up after someone else posts.
  3. I check mine all the time. Never had any problems. Like Warbird said, just have it in a locked case. Obviously make sure it is unloaded and have the ammo in a box or something to make sure it is not just loose in the bag. I always go ahead and lock the case and have it in the bag. Usually they just put the card in your bag on top of the case, but sometimes the people like to switch it up a little or something. I have never locked my bag, but there is no way to know there is a gun in it. When you hand the bag to the TSA guy, just say, "There is a weapon in this bag." The guy says okay and runs it through the x-ray machine. Hang around at there until you see the bag come off the scanner and go on the main belt with all the other bags. It is really not a big deal, but you should give yourself a little extra time. By the way, if you use Southwest in Nashville, you have to go to the main ticket counter and not to the computer counters or the curbside.
  4. I am inclined to agree. You have a leak somewhere other than your toilets. Can you shut the water off at your house, not at the meter, but acutally at the house? If so, try that and see if your meter runs. If it does, you don't need a sprinkler system because you have a leak keeping everything green. However, if you do decide to change your flappers, make sure to wipe around where the valve will seal. I have seen some that get mold or something growing around there to keep it from sealing good.
  5. The knife from the OP states in red that it is made in Italy Am I missing something?
  6. I have wondered about this myself. I would also like to know how much the ballistics would vary between 38+p and a .357 out of a snub nose. It seems to me the ballistics would be negligible without a longer barrel.
  7. I am out of the state right now. When I am home, I don't go to ranges, but where I am right now, I can shoot indoor for $9 per day, all day long, or I can shoot outdoor for $3 an hour.
  8. I do not know about the rest of the guys on here, but it sounds like you need to find a new range. That is some high priced range time.
  9. I am glad to see most everyone else has sent them a message. I sent them one earlier this afternoon. I would love to see that site go the way of a sparkler on the Fifth of July.
  10. Pretty crazy. By the way, I think the helmets are to keep your partner from dropping something on your head and knocking you out. That would suck for sure.
  11. If it is such an amazing deal, buy it. Then, you can shoot it for a while, sell it for profit, get your membership, and have extra funds for the fun account. That is a win, win, win in my opinion.
  12. I think he is already well on his way to being washed up.
  13. I have used Wal-Mart tents for years. Obviously not the best in the world, but they are pretty easy on the wallet too. I have taken them back packing and car camping both. For the price you pay, I think it would be a good option for you. They are cheap enough that it will not kill you if your son looses interest, but they are good enough quality that you will get your money out of them for sure.
  14. You can absolutely make it to go in a reciever hitch. That is what I use. It started life as one that you put in the ground as you say, but I found some 2" square tubing about 4 or 5 feet long. I put a little seat on it, so you can sit on it and the arm is still far enought away to not bash your knees. It works pretty well.
  15. This sounds like an engineer talking. Jk, that was well said. I do, however, agree with the OP. I am not as active as many others one here, but I do enjoy spending a little time here. I think it is healthy to be able to have spirited debate when both sides are able to be mature about it and understand that other people are not going to agree with you just because you say it is so. What bothers me most about people debating, and it is true here as it is in any other theatre, is when people intentionally instigate a debate that has been known to piss a bunch of people off and go nowhere. Why would you come to a gun website, granted there is an off-topic section, and start a debate about abortion, religion, or even politics for that matter? I guess some people are just walking around way to happy and think, "I need to find a way to kill the mood." It defies logic for me, and it makes time spent here less enjoyable.

    Gorilla Glue?

If the surfaces are fresh wood, just go to Lowe's and get some wood glue. Any of the stuff that is that light yellow color seems to alway work well. Do not use wood glue if you are trying to glue a previously glued joint. You will either have to prep the surface back down to fresh wood, or use an epoxy or something. As for the glue in question, when I was in high school, we had a wooden bridge competition in physics class. Gorilla had just come out, and one of the groups used it on their bridge. That stuff would not let go. It was not ridged, but it held together. The brigde was all sorts of deformed when it finally let go.
  17. I have not owned many handguns, but the only one I had to fail was a Kel-Tec p11. I do not remember how many rounds were through it, but it failed to the point that it would not fire. For me, that was a little scary for my carry gun to do this. I quickly sold it after I fixed it. It never had any issues until that failure, but given the nature of the gun and the failure, I have to say it is the worst handgun I have ever owned.

    a dove gun.

I am envious. If you are fortunate to be in a good field, it will be a wonderful time. Just make sure to have plenty of shells.
  19. My appartment had Hoppe's airfresher for a few days here recently when I spilled half a bottle in the carpet
  20. If I were a cop, I would ask all kinds of questions just to see what kind of craziass answers I got. Surely to goodness they all gather around the doughnuts and share the stupid answer stories; I certainly would anyway.
  21. For me, form is of most importance. I can usually shoot fairly well, and if I find one day that I am not shooting well, it is usually something basic that I have gotten lazy with. This is truely one of those things that you can read about it all you want, but when it comes to it, you will find you can only really learn it by doing it. I recomend finding some one to spend a little time with who can really coach you through a few things to get you started. It is really hard to evaluate your problems yourself as you are doing it. From my person experience, many skeet and trap clubs are a little bit arrogant and are not very friendly when it comes to teaching some dude with a hunting gun how to shoot. I hope you can have a different experience with this aspect, but a different approach might be to try sporting clays. Generally, the stands are designed for hunting scenarios, so the guns used are often more of a hunting gun. Skeet guns have all kinds of customizing crap on them that many of those shooter think you have to have. All I am saying is that from my experience, unless you are wanting to go balls deep into skeet shooting, you might have a better experience first trying sporting clays or by throwing your own in a field with someone to coach you. And yeah, buy a wrench and a skeet choke, you will not be sorry you did.
  22. Would not what you thread over the cut threads replace the strength of the material machined off?
  23. I have had a begger follow me to my truck at a shady gas station. He wanted "fiddy cens" to ride the bus but he was wearing some new Nikes that probably didn't cost much less than a case of .45. He also had some box that he was holding in a weird way. Everything about it seemed wrong. It is crazy how your instincts just take over in those situations if you have mentally prepared yourself for it. I am glad you situation turn out well.
