  1. I carry at home. I always at least have a mini-mag in my pocket. I am more paranoid about someone being in my house and accessing one of my weapons and using it against me. For this reason, I am not a fan of having a bunch of guns "stationed" in my house. I know you can hide them and all that stuff, but I just feel more comfortable if I am in control of the only weapon that is readily accessible.
  2. I was really referring to burning something other than just petrol products to achieve greater efficiency, or perhaps greater use of non-naturally aspirated engines to have the same power in a smaller size and less use of fuel. I was thinking more along the lines of using turbos or N20 to get more power.
  3. It's normal for Estill Springs. They are notorious for being bassackwards with the way they run. The moral of this story is don't speed through Estill Springs. I thought everyone who lived anywhere near there knew that.
  4. The more pressing issue that should be addressed right now is finding a way to make internal combustion more efficient for the cars already on the road. Even if you come up with an alternative, whether it be electric or hydrogen or whatever, it will take decades for everyone to be on board with that. What do you do in the meantime for people who cannot afford to go spend 20-25k on a new car just because some environmentalists wants? I am not a chemist or engineer, but I do believe there has to be a way to dramatically increase the efficiency of what is being used now. I have heard and read a few stories of such things, but i've never seen anything available for consumers.
  5. If I understand what you are going to try, I don't think it will work. Fiber optics only project light from end to end. If you paint the sides of the sight, that light generated will not be projected out the end of the optics for you to see. Perhaps I am miss understanding the methods, but I would be curious to "see" if it works.
  6. I am having some FTE on mine, so thanks for all the info. I will be referring to this when I finally get around to messing with it.
  7. That Bisley's a keeper for sure.
  8. I think I will go for some pineapple wine on the rocks. Wine is used loosely; it's probably about 40-50 proof.
  9. Not so much, just snakes. If I see them in the woods or something and know they are not a venomous snake, I will probably let them live. If one gets in my yard or an area I frequent, it will be game over regardless of species.
  10. Maybe he is referring to the country of origin for your sig.
  11. I am a big pansy when it comes to snakes, and I'd have to say that would have been the end of the line for that little feller if it were me weed eating. I know, illegal to kill... blah blah blah, it's just a garder... blah blah blah, they eat bugs... blah blah blah. I don't give a damn, they make my skin crawl.
  12. That was powerful. Thank you for posting.
  13. My understanding is that there is no room for a heavier bullet and still have enough room for powder to push it at standard velocities. The SSS is in a short case in order to make the over all round length such that it will still fit in mags and cycle through an action. Another thing about the SSS, the whole point of them is to be quite. They run them low velocity to keep them below the sound barrier.
  14. You could carry one for hunting purposes, but it would be hard to plead your case for that if you were in town or something
  15. Holy thread resurrection Batman!
  16. Yeah, I was just dicking with you man. I am not one of the "experts," but if you scan through the rest of the posts, you will find them.
  17. Trust me, you are crazy. You are just having visual hallucinations. Cougars, panthers, or any large cats do not exist in this area; it is absolutely impossible. None of the experts on this forum have seen them, so they do not exist. Period.
  18. Clip/magazine : cougar/panther My taxonomy might have been a little off, but considering probably even less people know the difference between a cougar and panther than between a clip or magazine, I don't think I was misunderstood. Either way, you are correct; the idea that non-native or suspected extinct species could emerge in a region is completely ludicrous. No such thing has ever happened.
  19. They are in middle tn as well. I am not sure that I have seen one, but I know four credible sources who have positively seen them. I have seen evidence of them, and early one morning hunting, I very well could have seen one. It was before light when everything looks black regardless of the color, and it was for sure a cat. If it were not a panther, it was the biggest bobcat I have seen by at least a foot of body length.
