  1. I am just pissed that OWN is taking out Disc. Health. I don't watch TV much, but when I would, Discovery Health was on the short list that OWN will never be on.
  2. The people who will buy these are the people who will also buy that case to go along with it. An art piece is really what they are selling. I do think they are some pretty guns, and that alone has the potential to sell these guns at that price. However, I agree with the above; I, myself, would rather just buy a Ruger.
  3. I love fly fishing. We usually just float the river in the summer catching bluegill and the rare perch on popping bugs. I have never been anywhere other than the Elk and Duck just floating in a flat bottom. I have also never caught a trout with a fly rod; however, the funnest thing I have snagged is a carp. That is a helluva fight. Fun times for sure.

    Ruger SR1911

You should do a search on here if you have not already. There are a couple of threads previously started on the gun by people here who have purchased them.
  5. I am embarrassed to say that I am part of that demographic. It is always amazing to me when I try to talk to some of my classmates about these type of social issues. My school is in the ghetto, and everyday, we see people buying slurpies and ice cream at the seven eleven with food stamps. Regardless of the obvious waste and abuse and regardless of the fact that some of the people I am talking to will hit the higher tax brackets and regardless of the amount of work and struggle they are putting in now, they still seem to think it is a good idea. I agree with the above, I would love to talk to these same people 10-12 years from now, when they actually see the amount of money that gets stolen from them every week. I had one guy tell me it was not our money anyway. Sense the government prints it, it is and will always be their money, so we should not be angry when we have to give it back to them.
  6. I have seen some autopsy stuff for school where I had to ID weapons used, and from the "half the skull" rumor and the pic I have seen (which I do not know if it is fake or not), it was not a 9mm. A 9 will not take off half his calvarium, nor do I believe a .45 would either. Obviously the only people who know for sure are those who were there, but I would have a hard time believing it was not a 5.56.

    New toy....SR1911

    Jealous for sure.
  8. This is about as far as I will go giving him credit for this. Even that is wearing thin with all the probes into it and the talk about the dead people being unarmed. The whole picture thing kinda pisses me off too.
  9. Foxnews.com also has a slide show of pics from within the compound. I agree with David, nice shooting.
  10. It is interesting what you say about Nashville not being as forgiving. I have a story to the contrary. Not trying to argue with it, but I think it is a pretty crazy story. I'll try to give you the short version. A friend of mine was surprised by his girl friend with a trip to Vegas. He did not know he was going to be flying when he packed his bag, and he packed a gun for travel. At the time, he did not have a permit. The gun was left unloaded, but there was ammunition in the same bag. When he found out where they were going, he got so excited and forgot about the gun. When arriving at the airport, they decided he would drop her off to check the bags and such, and he would park the car and meet her at the gate. Needless to say, when he returned from parking the car, he was greated by the airport security. He finally talked them into letting him take the gun back out to car. If that was not bad enough, he also forgot he had a knife in his pocket, so after actually going through security, he had it confiscated. Through all this, he ended up with no fines, charges, etc.
  11. It is the oil on the filter that causes the problems with sensors and such. This is mainly why I tell you to look at the washable dry filters. Also, if you do put one in, unplug the battery for over-night or at least for an hour or two to reset your computer. It will eventually adjust itself, but this will just help do it quicker. Btw, the only gains you will see will be in highway miles and mostly acceleration at the upper end of your power curve. If you just drive around town, you will probably never see any difference. The easiest place for me to tell a difference is towing on the highway or climbing hills at highway speeds. This makes sense to me given the fact that it is helping to decrease the resistance to air flow which is only appreciable at higher rpms (not off the line). Also consider too that the air filter is only half of the breathing equation. I realized as much improvement by adding just a free flow muffler as I did by adding an intake.
  12. That is a good idea. I'll have to try that.
  13. I think this is the one I have. I have had it for a few years and it still seems to work well. Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Air Intake - Chevy - Performance Air Intakes
  14. I have never used the drop-in replacement, but I have used one on an intake set-up. In that fashion, I did see on average of about 3-4 miles over stock if I kept my foot out of it. That was on a Grand all wheel drive with the old 5.2 in it. However, I think the oiled filters are sorta old technology, and I would look about other options. I have a cold air intake on my truck now that is a washable dry filter that I like much better. In fact, the washable have a lower maintance cost than the oiled filtered because you don't have to put the oil in them. I just wash mine with dishwasher detergant and let it dry.
  15. I was just curious. I have a friend that lives in Nashville that just did this recently; wondering if it was the same guy.
  16. I am with you man. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
  17. I don't know if you go to church or not, but it is kind of like reading a religious text. If you pick through it all with a fine tooth comb, you will always get hung up on a few insignificant words. You should always consider the big picture and understand that 99% of the signs you are talking about is so people are not throwing around loaded weapons in the store. If you are carrying, is that really an issue? I certainly hope not. So don't worry about the seemingly ambiguous text, and just be a courteous and safe HCP holder while proceeding with your business. If you followed me around in a day and asked the people I come in contact with if they thought I had a gun, I would be surprised if even one is suspecting. Act like this and the many other responsible people who carry, and you will have nothing to worry about regardless of how confusing you think the sign is.
  18. The majority of the gratifying reaxn is actually killing the good cells. It would work great to clean the blood off your floor. Next time to have a drop of fresh blood, put a couple drops of H2O2 on it; I think it is kinda fun.
  19. In the future, you should not use H2O2 to "boil out" deep wounds. This causes even the healthy and still viable cells to lyse and will prolong your bleeding and healing time. It essentially can increase the necrotic margins of a wound. It is fine to be used with superficial wounds, but I would stay away from it with anything that will require stitches. The alcohol would do just fine.
  20. I second Steamboat Bill's. We ordered some from him for a tailgate and was planning on boiling them on our own, but he gave us a deal too good to pass up on some cooked ones. They were just right, and the price was excellent. Well, I guess you can disregard the above. I just googled to see where you are, but if you happen to be in the area, try Steamboat Bill's.
