Different strokes for different folks man. Why do people put lifts and mud tires on trucks to cruise the boulevard, or replace formica countertops for granite? It's all about what you like. My 10/22 is not tricked out either, but I have done some trigger work and such.

My wife always says I drive like a grandpa. I know some of you on here are grandfathers, so please don't take offense. I will preface this by saying that I have not been one much for speeding, but I have found the best way to have hassle free interstate driving. I just set my cruise about 3-4 mph below the speed limit and park it in the right lane. I rarely have to pass, and I just let all the people in a hurry, blast around me on the left. It makes things a breeze when you don't have to worry about merging in and out with people at different speeds.

Barring any sentimental value, a .22 would be the last gun I would ever sell. Even with sentimental value, it might just be a .22. I have a 10/22 that is great, but my father has a Remington Sportmaster 512 that will eventually be mine. The story behind it is that my grandfather had a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealership, and he took the rifle on a trade for some mechanical work that was done at his dealership. It was not even close to covering the cost of the work. However, the customer would not take a hand out, and the rifle was all he had to offer. My grandfather gave it to my dad, and he took the gun to shop class in high school and refinished the stock. I have no idea what the gun is worth, but to me, it is about priceless. It is hard to beat a .22, especially an old bolt action with a little story behind it. Congrats on your new gun.

My understanding of the hospitals I have worked in is that their reimbursement is not itemized, but rather based on DRGs. My understanding my be incorrect, but with this type of system, the hospital is paid a fixed price for a given diagnosis or procedure. This gets rid of the incentive to be wasteful, and in fact gives an incentive to be efficient. Another aspect of billing that was briefly mentioned in the clip is that providers are never paid what is billed. You may get a EOB in the mail that states the bill is 20K, but the actual reimbursement is maybe only 10K for whatever was done. Well, what this leads to is that if what was done was really worth 20K, the providers realizes that they must bill for 40K in order to get 20K. That little game is fine until you have a self-pay patient or the deductable is not met or whatever, and now the patient are sitting there holding a bill for 40K thinking they have to pay all that. As mentioned above, I think one of the most effective way to reduce the cost of medicine, especially for physicians is to limit all the lawsuits. I know ob/gyn's who are now just gyn's because they could not afford to continue to pay the insurance for delivering babies. One such person was paying about $100,000/yr just for ob malpractice. She was practicing in an area that was mostly medicaid and self-pay patients, so the numbers simply did not compute to good business practice. I personally have the opinion that if you are on an entitlement program for healthcare, in which other people are paying for your care, you should not be eligible for some type of windfall payout. If you are injured as a result of poor care, you should be able to file complaint for an investigation with corrective action taken by the medical board, but you will not receive financial compensation.

Have her shoot the pk380 before you buy it. I bought my wife a Bersa 380 and she really liked to feel of it. However, it was just too snappy for her. In my non-scientific opinion, many of those compact 380s have just as violent, if not worse, recoil of a 9 in a similar size. I have talked to several others who feel the same way. Either way, all I'm saying is have her shoot it. As is turns out, my wife did not enjoy shooting the Bersa and could not hit worth a damn, likely because she was scared of the recoil. She now has a Ruger sr22. I know a .22 is not the best defense round, but anything you hit with beats the hell out of anything you miss with.

This story sounds bad; however, having had neighbors with terribly annoying pets, I must admit that I have thought about killing a pet on more than one occasion. There is no telling what history exist between these two neighbors, and I can tell you from experience that the recommended resources are often little help. Either way, I am sad for the family with the slain dog, but I cannot not be too quick to judge the old man.

I love being outdoors, and Tennessee offers ample opportunity for just about everything outdoors. One thing to remember about TN, though, it that the landscape and outdoors change so much from the eastern to western areas of the state. I, myself, am more partial to the mountains in the east. Secondly, as you know, this is a gun forum, so I would be amiss if I did not mention the gun laws. There are certainly things many of us would like to see change about the gun laws, but I do believe that, when compared to many other states, TN is rather gun friendly. Thirdly, I like the people here. Of course there are some a--holes, but in general, people are much more polite and hospitable than many other places I have been. If you all do decide to move down here, I am sure you will find it to be a wonderful place to live. I have honestly never known anyone who did not like living in TN. The people I have known, who moved from the state, were always sad to go and eager to return.

Also Biden may be a dumbass, but he is not the narcissistic dumbass like Obummer. They are both complete idiots, but if I had to choose, I would rather have the idiot that does not feel like he has to put all the upper class and conservative white folks under his reign.

You can also ask if they have busted sheets. I've picked up some scrap pieces to do small repairs. Sometimes they'll just give them to you, but even if you have to pay, that is better than having to store a whole piece that you may never need again.

I will preface this by saying, I met my wife at a mutual friend's house where a bunch of people had gathered to do some shooting. With that said, the first date we went on, I picked her up, and before I backed my truck out of the driveway, I said something to the effect of, "I just want to let you know, I carry a gun all the time, pretty much everywhere I go. If that is a problem, we should just quit now." She later told me she appreciated that, and she was glad I carried all the time. It makes her feel safe. If you feel strongly about carrying, there is no reason not to be up front and direct about it. Lay it out there from the word go, and there will never have to be a question about it.

Thanks Reef! Thanks for sharing that article. I hope your friend is doing well. My dad has had two resections; hopefully there will not be another. Just a little tid bid about surgery for Crohn's, it is a last resort type treatment. To my knowledge, bowel resections are only used to treat Crohn's when the disease causes a bowel obstruction. The surgery does not treat the disease, and in fact, it essentially always causes the spread of the disease to areas of the bowel that were not previously affected. The disease kind of forces your hand, but treating Crohn's with surgery is basically like trying to cut the corners off a square using straight lines. Hopefully, through raising awareness and continued research, there will eventually more definitive treatment options available. Thanks again, and best of luck to your friend.

Misadventure with a vehicle?

I don't think they are that bad, but it does getting painful when trying to do work on them like triggers and such. I decided to tweak the trigger on mine and had it together and apart about 5 or 6 times in one day. Finally, I decided it was good enough.

I have not seen my dog in about two months due to travel. Those pictures make me want to fly home tonight to see him, but sense I can't, I'll just post some pics of him.

I just want to know who in the hell is banging these chicks that they are so worried about birth control. Granted I don't keep up with all the lib chicks, but I really doubt that dudes are beating their doors down to get to the few I've seen ranting about BC.

I wouls go with the Kel-Tec. The smaller size and increased capacity wins out in my book. As far as the Rossi goes, I think you will find the wheel gun to be harder to conseal, heavier, and just generally more awkward to carry. Also, I've never understood the point of a snubby .357. I figure just carry a .38 +p. It seems like the short barrel neuters the potential of the .357.
