How have you reacted personally? Bought guns? Mags? Ammo?
Worriedman replied to hipower's topic in General Chat
He is always fair, and goes way above and beyond to be of help to his customers. Who else will offer to stop and pick up a 1 lb can of powder in Clarksville and drop it off in Jackson as a service to someone who he has never met, or made a dime off of before? God grant me more Davids! I did ask him for an 8 lb jug of W 748 on his next trip through town. Let a buddy have 3-30 round Magpuls, he is just finishing his first build. Told him he could replace then when things settle down, or for what I paid for them if we can't get any more, I had a few extra. -

Freedom Group being sold...?
Worriedman replied to jeremy155rr's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I have personally spoken with some of the top echelon leadership about approaching firearms and ammunition manufacturers to come to TN. There was absolutely no interest in pursuing it from our "Supermajoirty" Republicans. -
Best pay attention to the person behind the curtain. Valerie Jarrett swings a lot bigger stick, and she is the one in charge.

That is the scariest thing I have read in a long time.

For those of you who support the NRA....
Worriedman replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I got a call for ABC's "Nightline", seeking to do an interview with a "gun owner" from Tennessee, who would take the "team" to a firing range in the daytime, and carry their weapon to a "bar" in the evening. I politely declined to be their redneck hillbilly, guntoten shine swilling TFA/NRA member. But I bet they find somebody to play the part. -

Pro 2nd Amendment? Sign This Petition:
Worriedman replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I am a "Benefactor" member of the NRA and a Life member of the TFA as well as a yearly member of GOA. The NRA is the 800 lb. Gorilla, and depending on how they respond to all this is how far down the tubes our ability to keep and bear arms will slide, but I still believe that here in TN is where we get our best bang for the buck, and sadly, there is very little effort out there to stem the tide of the loss of our freedoms. I received this e-mail today, and I am afraid that it harbingers the fact that too many have decided to not work, to not get involved. Wilson County Tea Party December 2012 Dear Friends ... In the last 3.5+ years, we have met many wonderful people who believe in liberty just as much as we do. Many are now fearful that we are about to cross a threshold in which some of our beloved freedoms will be lost forever. However, few people have stepped up to volunteer their time to help us accomplish the mighty tasks before us if we are to remain a free nation. During these 3.5+ years, we have relied on a small core group of volunteers to accomplish all of the duties necessary to run this tea party. We have always hoped that others would come forward to help us but this has not been the case. Although we've gotten much verbal support and our supporters have grown dramatically since 2009, few have believed in our cause enough to come forward and devote the time and physical presence necessary to show the strength in numbers needed to force positive change in our federal and state government. Everyone in this core group is tired and, as a result, we have made the very difficult decision that we can no longer continue running the Wilson County Tea Party. Therefore, we have decided to disband the WCTP effective immediately. We wish all of you well and want to thank those who have helped us along the way. May God bless.... Sherrie Orange Like the story of Scrooge, if this remains unchanged, we will all be saddened and our progeny moved toward serfdom. -

Will be far worse than that, it will be a full ban of semi-auto anythings, high powered rifles, pistols and shotguns. With their passing will go any semblance of Liberty... -
Mae Beavers loses TN Repub Senate Caucus position

I personally would like to know just what it is that you consider harm done by Senator Beavers?? She has done nothing but support every firearms issue given an opportunity. -
Jumping Through Hoops in Tenneessee. This has to change
Worriedman replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Keeping a realistic view of the way things happen in Nashville, I welcome any and all help with the Legislature that I can get. The major push by the TFA will be Constitutional Carry, but until we can get some true Conservative members of the House and senate elected, it is a pipe dream. The "Moderate/Liberal" leadership we have, both in the legislature and executive branches of TN want us shoved to the side. Harwell, McCormick and the new caucus chair Casada all view the firearms rights group as an evil to be dealt with, not worked with. Madam Speaker has not voted in favor of a pro-gun issue in the last 5 years, don't expect her to start now. With Matheny's ouster from the Pro Tempore spot, it will take a massive effort on the electorate's part to change the direction of an anti Rights Legislature. -
Why pass laws when you can wait until you're the minority again and reuse the 2nd amendment as a wedge issue The party doesn't support the 2nd amendment unless it serves some political purpose. Stop electing RINOs
On this JayC, we agree 100%. -
Run the list of University Officials that are HCP holders or who have some sort of police or bodyguard protection and out them for hypocrisy. People love to out hypocrites. And the educators often hate to have their names in the media when it makes them look like fools, which they often are. Hammer them, hammer them, hammer them. They are not your friends and never will be. Students usually don't like them, and if they've put political pressure on legislators, a lot of the legislators won't like the University Officials either. At the very least, you find out who their protectors are, and then target them. It can't be the entire legislature. I'm not saying that wiser heads would not disagree with points such as these, just that options are explored or explained why they're not options. I really don't mind getting shot down with the facts at the disposal of WorriedMan and others. I'm just looking for an "over, around or thru".
QuiteDan, bring it on my friend! Was not intending to say we should not attempt everything, and, I appreciate your suggestions. I am simply an old Contractor, been in the concrete business my whole life in one form or another. I have a house full of grand babies, and the present aroma surrounding the state of firearms ownership scare me pretty bad. Anything I know I have dug up regarding these issues was done because it interested me, along with the fact that the government wants us all ignorant. Please do not ever take a statement of mine regarding the TCA Codes as being dismissive, I have more than likely made every argument and had them shoved down my throat before. If I come off as a know-it-it-all that is not my intention, simply is a result of my less than sweet normal disposition. I intend for these discussions to be brain-storming sessions, I absolutely HATE to argue. If I am acting less than reasonable, let me know, I have pretty broad shoulders.
Stage a legislative attack on that aspect of the law and roll the university system.
I would love it if that were possible, but it is not. MTAS and CTAS are well ensconced in policy making in TN, and UT has a strangle hold on the State especially at the current time, (even though I feel their control of our Cities and Counties is a crime under the Official Oppression clause, but then who cares what I or the Constitution say?)
If the school parking lots are excluded from the law, make the schools responsible for the safety of those parking there and on their commute to and from the parking lot. Leave the schools open to unlimited liability for death, injury or rape, as well as pain and suffering. Then, tell them to pick: guns in the parking lots, or unlimited liability.
Would have to repeal Tennessee Governmental Liability Act, (Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 29-20-101 - 29-20-407). Our Legislature, on the string to dance for the University system and all other governmental agencies has made sure that none of them are responsible for anything but cashing their checks. .
Okay, maybe Ramsey is a little schizoid on the issue, but I'll take it, right now. What politician is not in campaign mode? That probably had a lot to do with it, last time, and it will probably be there again. The bill shouldn't exclude any college parking lot, though.
The last face to face I had with him led me to believe that he did not intend to allow exclusions. Just what he intends to use to get Speaker Harwell to agree escapes me at the moment, as she has already said she would NOT allow this to come to the floor, but we shall see. -

http://blogs.knoxnew...guns-in-ca.html From the Lt. Gov. in the article:
"There has been zero problem with these people across the state. ...If the whole population was as responsible as the people who carry these little cards here, we could literally shut down our prisons. ...You should be able to keep a firearm locked in your glove compartment. ...If we passed this bill tomorrow, you wouldn't know the difference the next day. We may exempt out schools, that's fine, but even then we're talking about public parking lots. ...There's got to be a way to keep it in a car legally. "
