Did not get to watch the video, and can not get it to pull up now, but, HB 042 went the way of SB 250, down the tubes. Guess this will make it easier for The Feds to allow us to have the Obamacare money for Medicaid (Tenn-care) Expansion for the next 3 years, now that we are being good little boys and girls.

Looks like Magpul will be moving

Well, ask Madam Speaker why she would not allow debate on SJR2 (election of judges). They are not listening to anything that the People have to say, only that which is best (in their opinion) for the Republican caucus. Every one of them thinks only of partisanship and the advancement of their power. Duty and obligation to their constituents is a thing of the past, it died with the penny post card evidently... -
County 2nd Amendment Resolutions
Worriedman replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I do, but then what do I know? -
Madison County was the first of Tennessee Counties to pass a 2nd and 10th Amendment supportive Resolution. (reproduced in full below) It is my understanding that McNairy County, which arguably has the most 2nd Amendment supportive Sheriff in the State, tabled their version of this same Resolution. From attendees who watched this laid on the table unanimously, there was no public comment allowed, it is being bandied about that the commissioners are concerned about the Sheriff having too much power if said Resolution is passed, along with the statement that the TN State's Attorney General has declared the resolution "Unconstitutional". Shades of Brian Kelsey, Doug Overby, John Stevens and Lowe Finney. We are getting as bad as Colorado and our US legislature.

HB118/SB142: Current "parking lot" legislation
Worriedman replied to GKar's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Will never clear the Senate, the bill as written would preclude legislators from purchasing the list and mailing lies to permit holders about how 2nd Amendment friendly they are. -

Yeah, dressing the children in burkas, is simply teaching them to emulate those new styled heros designated as such by our government, tweeted by this person so designated by John Kerry as a "Woman of Courage": http://www.humanevents.com/2013/03/07/john-kerrys-woman-of-courage-celebrates-bus-bombings-embassy-attacks-hitler/ -

Friend bought his son a .22 bolt action for Christmas, and a box of cartridges. I let him have two 325 Value packs till he can replace them so the boy can shoot some with his new rifle. Have not shot any of my Wolf since the run started, afraid I will not be able to replace it and I have squirrels to harvest... -

I think Oh Shoot was saying that the employers can access the information through the Commercial Appeal's web site, that they do not need to go to TDOS for information, therefore there is no way you can track to see if they are looking up the information. -
Private Sales May Be Next 2A Infringement

6.8, the legislators could give a large rats hinney about what their constituents want, we do not provide enough of the "mother's milk" of politics, MONEY to justify them taking notice or consideration of what "We" as the People might consider important. When we start dropping $5,000.00 checks twice each election cycle then they will become aware, till that happens we are simply flies to be whisked away... -

There you go being kind again, I sense it more as a flat footed, bold faced expression of BS. The House sponsor is out and about, spreading the lie that the Republican caucus has passed 22 "good gun bills" in the last 4 years. I get nearly nauseated at the low esteem that these so called servants of the People display when addressing their constituents. -
Firearms Freedom Bills and the Constitution
Worriedman replied to enfield's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I know Mr. Rounds well, he is certainly versed in the issue postulated. This article speaks numerous truths, but was penned prior to the Tennessee Legislature denying its responsibility to the Citizens. We are bereft of Leadership in the General Assembly, where allegiance to Corporate dogma takes precedence over Statesmanship and Service to the Citizens, lust for power and longevity to accrue it by virtue of "time in the saddle" being far more important than adherence to a sworn oath "that as a member of this General Assembly, I will, in all appointments, vote without favor, affection, partiality, or prejudice; and that I will not propose or assent to any bill, vote or resolution, which shall appear to me injurious to the people, or consent to any act or thing, whatever, that shall have a tendency to lessen or abridge their rights and privileges, as declared by the Constitution of this Stateâ€. -
The West TN Regional Chapter of the TFA is pleased to announce that our March 14, 2013 speaker will be Dr. Alexander Alperovich. Dr. Alperovich brings a unique perspective to the discussion of firearms issues, having a personal view of European/Soviet gun control models. The meeting will be held at Brooks Shaw and Sons Old Country Store, located in the Casey Jones Village, Jackson, TN. Our room will be available for those who wish to share a meal and fellowship at 5:30 P.M. There will be a short Legislative update at 6:30 and the meeting proper will start at 7:00 P.M. Membership is not a requirement to attend, all are welcome. Please come and witness a more worldly view of the dangers of "gun control" by one who has seen the actual aspects of it.

Worriedman replied to GKar's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Freudian slip there? [owed v. owned] Would suspect you want to keep the language at managed or leased, not owned, or most large corporations would not be able to enforce policies? They mostly exist in leased buildings on County owned property. -

This way, the Establicans can tell their masters that nothing changed and that they stayed as obstructionist as possible, plus Ramsey has poked Haslam in the eye over allowing firearms in the parking lots of UT. He is grinning from ear to ear at the moment. Fed Ex will keep writing him checks, he will proclaim for all to hear that he has once again been the savior of the 2nd Amendment, win/win for the Lt. Gov. -
NY Judge issues injunction against SAFE Act
Worriedman replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I would think that US v. Miller or Aymette v. State of Tennessee will stop the ban on semi-auto weapons then, as they are in fact commonly used by the Military, and that was the benchmark in Miller and Aymette. -
The amendment that Sen. Beavers put on the bill reduced the fiscal note to the extent it would not require the bill to go to Finance. Kelsey's comment that this was not about 2nd Amendment issues, (he said if it were, the NRA would have been "up here"). As it was not an NRA written bill, I would not expect to see them, in fact, I have not seen the NRA present at the legislature a time this year, for any reason, but I digress. Kelsey is correct, the treatment of the sponsor has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment, it has to do with bowing to the Behemoth Federal Government, worship of the Gods of Legal by a group of lawyers. Kelsey, Overby, Finney and Stephens are all lawyers, not statesmen.
-
Kelsey managed to force a vote on the bill, supporters tried to roll it. Bill was amended to take down the penalty to a Class A misdemeanor but he, Overby, Stephens and Finney stuck a knife in the bill. 4-4, it is on life support, and fading fast.

CSCOPE is the Texas version of Common Core, (Federal curriculum for Race to the Top) it is in fact, the tax payer funded downfall of the United States. While we are watching the budget battle and gun control they are taking over the minds of our children by using our tax dollars to indoctrinate our kids against private land ownership and Capitalism. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Stop-Common-Core-in-Tennessee/322248557894269?ref=ts&fref=ts -

Publish the telephone number or the web site for the background check, let any person avail themselves of the use of it, (pay their $10.00 via credit card) and there is no reason to not do a back ground check. Just make sure it runs the background on the person, and not the weapon. Potential purchaser could run a check on the seller if he wanted to, would go a long way to making sure the seller was not a felon as well. Attach the report to the sales receipt for those instances where the seller and the buyer were not well acquainted (I never sell one without a sales receipt, requiring a DL, and keep that on file as well). -
Bless Megan's Heart, she gets it backwards, 10th Circuit Court in Colorado says no, 7th Circuit Court in Chicago says yes. (I can understand why she would presuppose the alternate due to spatial arrangement of the rulings).

You are correct. Our Legislature made sure of that when they passed the Sheriff's Protection Act, which took away the ability for anyone to run for the office, (which is in fact a political office), and required that a candidate has to be a Post Certified Officer of the County prior to throwing a hat in the ring. Used to if an individual won the race, they had 6 months or so to get through the Academy. You think the Robertson Boys have a Dynasty...
