Have seen two postulations from "experts" that the explosive used was smokeless powder.  That should make reloading easier...

I recognize Libertarian thought, as I generally can be found swathed in it.  Let the chips fall where they may, keep government out of the issues that they are not vested in dealing with by the Constitution.   Specifically then, is the unalienable Right to keep and bear arms upheld in that document, and in its path to ratification.  Any vestige of disbelief of that point is in fact, turning a blind eye to the intent and specific wording of the 2nd Amendment, and by no means could it be construed as a Libertarian approach. To deny the individual right is to follow collectivism in its most pure form.

I will take one, will use it to house my .25 X .223 upper.

If that question is asked with a straight face, then I have nothing else to say, or to hear from the author.   From our TN Supreme Court in Andrews v. State:  

  My children are in their 30s and 40s. They understand, both education and government.  They teach in private schools, their children go there, and I get my licks in when I can.  I instruct in hunting, weapons and tools, and methods of food production and saving.   Regarding fear of the government, if you have spent as much time on the front lines of that fight as I have, and are not afraid, you are lacking in rational thinking skills.  If a grizzly comes at you, and you are not afraid, you are again lacking coping skills with reality. Just because a person is afraid, does not make them a coward or a slave.  Fear can stimulate adrenalin, and that can increase a persons strength and mobility.  How a person reacts to facts may instill fear, if they are wise enough to recognize danger, acting to resist it is in my mind, an act of bravery.

Could be the same kind of endorsement that the NSSF gave for "Universal Background Checks", it never happened but the press made it up.  Seems to be a lot of that going around.

If Haslam wants it killed or passed with respect to firearms issues, the legislature will concur, that has been proved time and again.  Haslam and Harwell are in concert, (both Liberal Democrats wearing Republican clothing), and they have Ramsey in a choke hold, so they control all caucus funds.  Nothing that displeases them gets out of the legislature.

  They scare me to death, not just for myself, but for my grand children.  I was raised and educated by people who knew what the Constitutions said and meant. (A majority of my peers voted for the current President)  My grandkids will be educated by socialist who think government is the answer to every thing.

Manchin-Toomey IS the bill being considered, all the rest will be amendments.

Dave, did you watch Sen. Brian Kelsey during the Judiciary debate on SB 250?  Our State will absolutely cave to the Feds stepping in, he said that the Supremacy Clause renders even the Bill of Rights subservient to the whim of the feds.  Get real, if the Feds want it, Haslam and crew will line up to suck it down, afraid they might loose their place at the trough.

Does require that only nursing mothers with babies on the teat under 12 months old can transfer to them a firearm, if the mom is a transferee and the baby is to be transfered to...on a Tribal Reservation, after a consortium of 12 people which may not be consisted of more than 6 from each party and one has to be from mass media has decided they are not veterans or suffer from (and not enjoy) mental coruption...

Shame on all of us for allowing it to get this far out of bounds.

  The federal government does not have the power to regulate arms, their only Constitutional charge is to "not infringe" the people's Right to keep and bear them. That is all, nothing else. Debate it in the State, where it belongs.

I got a call from Corker's Chief Council this afternoon.  I reckon they are getting the drift that they may have stepped in it this time.  He tried the same old, "We feel the Senate is where issues should be debated" scam on me.  I told him first, in my mind the debate on the 2nd was done in the early 1700's between us and England, and, between the Citizens of the US during the years it took to ratify the Constitution, which required the Bill of Rights to get that done.   Secondly, I told him the whole thing reminded me of having a cottonmouth tied up in a tote sack, and taking that bag into my grandkid's Sunday School class and cutting the tie and dumping it on the floor.  I assure him that the class teacher and the kids could debate what to do, but that I was pretty sure that they were not better off by having that discussion, when it could have been avoided in the first fricken place.

Corker is like Alexander, Haslam, and Harwell, they have plenty of money and an organization, and the Democrats are sooo bad here that they just can not imagine anyone voting for the other side, so they have us, in their opinion.    Debra Maggart told me the same thing, who else is a conservative going to deal with?  They no longer need those who might be of a conservative bent.

How prophetic on the Senate side, and you are correct on the House side as well.    Guns sales and gifting firearms to your children as we have know it is now a thing of the past.

  Will make no difference, once they get to Washington, they get "Life" and how passing legislation is like making sausage explained to them, and each is just like the other.

    Really good actually. I think the fix is in, Boehner will gather his RINOS and vote with the Democrats just like happened for cloture in the Senate, and before we know it, it will all be law.

Alexander and Corker both vote "AYE" on cloture for gun bill. It gote enough votes to proceed.

Received this from the NSSF today:     Somehow the statement that they (NSSF) supports the background checks rings hollow, either shows a lack of effort on the part of the writer to vet facts, or a decided effort to push an agenda.

Received this today as an "Alert" from the NSSF:     Funny, does not seem that the NSSF is supporting "Universal Background Check".

I have no idea why having a permit would preclude one from being charged for apparent terminal dumb a**ness.
