I have an Encore stubbed barrel in .25 X .307, the barrel is a Pac Nor, it is a very accurate piece. L to R, .307 case, fire formed .25 X .307, . 243 case for comparison.

Grand Pa used it to make concrete tools, wood floats lasted a loooong time.

You must have lived in a tough neighborhood, we got to keep our shotguns in the back windows of our pickup trucks in the 70's.

Well, for some reason they had an armed deputy at the Colorado school, who was able to confront the shooter in less than two minutes. That brought about a quick resolution. Don't know if they had armed deputies as resource officers in Colorado prior to sandy Hook, but it sure goes to support a good guy with a gun on hand to oppose a bad guy with a gun as THE answer.

Reminds me of the old Hee-Haw skit: Jr.- "Dr., Dr., I broke my leg in three places..." Dr.- "Keep your a** our of them three places..."

Using the same metrics, Jackson is as, if not more so, dangerous than Memphis or Nashville. Of course our Madison County Sheriff is embroiled in scandal, the focus being now on how to stay in office instead of limiting crime. One must remember that LE is simply charged with arresting criminals after the fact, not in preventing crime or providing security. That responsibility is up to the individual.

Have not seen a thread on this one, may have missed it, if so apologies... http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/watchdogreports/atf-uses-rogue-tactics-in-storefront-stings-across-the-nation-b99146765z1-234916641.html The ATF seems to be willing to violate any standard to promote their existence. This article will make you proud... A few of the better points from the article: With a government like this, who needs enemies?

Reason to vote for Judd Matheney
Worriedman replied to Caster's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Rep. Matheny has been kicked to the curb by the Republican Elite of TN, Harwell forced him out of his Speaker Pro Tempore position. He is, by the far the best person in the House, relentless in his pursuit of Constitutional issues, and as such is treated with a great deal of disrespect by the Super Majority. The few others who agree with his stance are by and large afraid to say so... -
They changed our company Policy last year to match up with the ACA, deductible is $3K per person before insurance pays a dime, of course the premium went up as well getting ready, (been on this a year). Can I go back to my old Plan and rate now?
-
Nope, don't believe in it/can't afford it. Had the same Boss for 41 years, she is just now at the point of saying "Whatever" and meaning it, no desire to break in a new one...

The government is so all about protecting alternate lifestyles, why do they hate the snake handlers so much? If the church members marry the snakes would it be OK then?

About as far from Elizabethton as possible and still in the State, over in Weakly County for the hunts, live in Madison Co.

If you shoot them with a bow during bow season, they don't mind as much. (last Sunday) Got this one the first week of bow season.

You will not get Constitutional Carry in Tennessee until the current Republican leadership finds somewhere else to be. The Progressive triad that is Haslam, Harwell and Ramsey deem ANY firearm related issue as bad for the business of garnering large donations from Big Business and the Chamber, (including Farm Bureau and AGC) by doing their will. It is a power and control thing on their part, the more they can control us, the more they can collect, the more power they can hold.

DHS raiding store for counterfeit Coach bags? DHS? Really?
Worriedman replied to TerryW's topic in General Chat
Why, they are all dressed up and no place to go. They can't pull over anyone they could visually inspect and suspect of being criminal or illegal, got to get their hours in and turn over the engines of their rides... -
You will notice a graduation in effort. The rabbit was the first target we built, when it went over, it was hard to get the paddle and face of target back up due to the angle once knocked over. I started adding the blocks to hold the paddle and target face at 90 degree angle to the base, makes the reset much easier. I added a couple of drilled holes to the top of those blocks and inserted cut pieces of weed eater line to act as shock absorbers to take out any "bounce". I did crows and doves and other animal shapes the kids wanted to build. Oldest ones are 5 years old, and they get a new coat of paint from time to time, but they have lived through 4 grandkids and are still very functional.

The circles are hard washers, painted. The actual target area is plate steel, that acts as a sear as well. I can not find my original file on this, but here is a close rendition, and I suspect it is copied directly from the "How To" I originally found years ago. http://www.ehow.com/how_7741002_build-field-targets-air-rifles.html

DLM was kind enough to get me hooked up, I am off and running on setting up the wildcat loads.
-
If you hit the bullseye, they fall over, Tie a string to the lanyard you see on the front, and you can pull them back "up" and reset them.

Want to get a youngster interested in the shooting sports? Get a decent air rifle, and make some "reactive' targets. Beats shooting paper all to pieces for keeping up interest. Grandkids helped build them and have worn them out shooting over the years.
