  1. They both voted for cloture on the bill this year, and had it gone the way of most other things in the Senate, (along purley partisan lines), we would be in line to turn our mags in now, and probably worse.   As we have said here before, Alexander is the only Repulican Senator to vote agaisnt the Coburn Amendment to H.R 627 (2009) which granted Permit carrieres the ability to be armed in federal parks.  The Lib twins Collins and Snowe even voted for that one, if you chose to be to the left of them on a firearms issue, the NRA hs every need to work agaisnt Lamar.
  2. Truely, the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with Tennessee Legislators, they cannot affect it on the federal level, and the feds are not supposed to affect any of our Rights here in Tennessee.   Let them lie about their support of Article 1 Section 26 of our State Constitution would be more appropriate if no more honest.
  3. From years past, when they palled around with us...
  4. Reason is they are ticked at the TFA for calling them out on their method of killing legislation, using the Naifeh committee gambit, never put anything on the floor and take a vote, whack it under direction of leadership, as the Chamber does not like the thought of more armed Citizens.   If you see all "No" votes, they did not return the survey.  Holt posted his on Facebook all shot up.  The complete transformation of the Republicans who used the TFA as a cudgel to get rid of Naifeh, promising Nirvana for gun rights should they ascend to the throne, turned against the mere mention of the word once they had the Supermajority.
  5. You got the money honey, I got the time...
  6. Come on Oh Shoot, you know how that "legislative intent" works.  Lt. Gov Ramsey pointed it out for all of us on the "Parking Lot" bill, as long as the legislature means for a bill to do something, that is what it does...
  7. And is anybody surprised that an individual, or gaggle of, politicians would attempt to get their name on a bill and then try to change what it does?
  8. You have it from the TFA now, get the NRA to join up.
  9. Re SB1612/HB1399 Actually, it was transmitted to the Governor for action on 4/16 so he would have 10 days to act, but that should be up by now...
  10. Isn't she now in the business of handing out money?  Seems someone told me that she had gone over to the Dark Side, working as a paid lobbyist these days.  I did see her this session, strolling LP with a black bag and grin...
  11. I learned not to trust reporters, any of them several years ago.  They are on the payroll of an industry with an agenda, and their main thrust is to further that agenda.   The usual hack job... http://www.nashvillescene.com/pitw/archives/2013/09/02/et-tu-brute-even-gun-freaks-out-to-beat-lamar   Now, Nick Carey with Reuters did quote me correctly and in context, refreshing...   http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/18/us-usa-politics-tennessee-idUSBRE84H0UD20120518
  12. Believe it was a shotgun, not an "assault rifle" as reported in the above NBC news feed.   http://abcnews.go.com/US/fedex-shooting-results-multiple-injuries/story?id=23511924
  13. Castle Doctrine does not extend to lockers, it does to vehicles.
  14. Dang it, I looked but since neither of us ran "dirty" with it, I did not pick up the other thread.  Just like normal, a little slow on the trigger...
  15. Wonder if it will pass his "sniff" test?
  16. Sometimes you have to make choices in your life for the benefit of family members.  To let 20 years of seniority go, with the subsequent loss of benefits, accrued sick leave and vacation, including loosing health insurance at the age of 60 when you have a spouse who is very ill, well, I think the State should take the permit of someone who would make that choice for being too stupid to carry a firearm. But as long as you keep your precious presumed "Private Property Rights", (which actually do not exist in the State of TN, all your "peers" have to do is want your stuff, and they can legally take it, see Articles 1 Section 8 and 21 of the TN Constitution). By the way did you see where TVA is going to condemn and take a bunch of private property around Memphis under imminent domain, you need to trundle right down there and demand they no do such a heinous thing...   Just what is the government's job?
  17. You will not have to worry about finding out, for at least 4 more years.  With the Leadership we have in the House and Senate, and the occupant of the governor's mansion, no chance either will make it to Public chapter status.
  18. http://www.wsfa.com/story/25324781/police-teenager   From the article: "Oh gosh," Souther, 70, told The Smoking Gun after learning where his gun was found. He said the gun would need a "bath in bleach."
  19. Was never put on "Notice" by the sponsor, died from lack of support.   Session is over by the way.
  20. Well, for those who have the mental capacity to truly engage in such a discussion, the ability to actually physically hold a weapon up might be a qualifier as far as intent of the Founders regarding age is concerned.  I believe they intended for the People to have all types of weapons that a standing army could employ against the general population, so that a tyrannical government could not out of hand force acceptance of mores that were unacceptable.  That march to Lexington and Concord was to confiscate all manner of weapons and munitions.  It did not work out well for the Crown (legal constituted government at the time), as the rebels took umbrage and fought back.  The participants on the side of what became the United States were not a Nation, it was not a government, it was a collection of individuals who shot, hacked apart and burned their enemies to the point of being left alone to manage their own affairs.  Bet there were some less than what we consider adults involved in that fracas, what do you think?
  21. See post #155, put those individuals away from society.
  22. My grand daughter at 5 years old could shoot my CZ .22 lights out, and she was smart enough to keep her booger hook off the trigger till she was ready to fire.  If we are going to be asking ridiculous question, why not make that a 2 year old, or six month old?  Why not ask if I trust the gleam in my eye to have a gun...
