  1. Why are you all making fun of this? I've had one of these on my truck for years and never had any sort of trouble. It sits right next to the Superman emblem I have on my back windshield. That way all the good guys will know that I am one of them. I've also got a new wallet with one of those flip-out identification windows so I can flash my HCP badge if they doubt my credentials.
  2. For me it's pretty simple. Q: Can I search your vehicle? A: No. If he searches anyway there's not a thing I can do about it. If I feel my rights were violated then the side of the road is not where I'm going to argue my case. I love watching REAL reality shows...and if theres one thing I've learned it's Don't Resist and Don't Argue...it won't do you a bit of good.
  3. That is probably a big part of it. I have always worn my belt and shoes tied rather tight.
  4. It's a M&P9 full size and the barrel length is 4.25". This seems to help quit a bit. It's still a little tight on the draw stroke, but now it's completely doable 1 handed.
  5. The kydex is even with the top of my pants and is at a slight cant forward.
  6. Ok, I've loosened the screws as much as possible (to the point of almost coming out) and I tried loosening my belt. It's a little bit easier to draw but is still rather tight. I've got it to where I can draw one handed but it still tends to pull my pants up. When the holster is off body there is absolutely no trouble removing the gun from the holster. I'm kind of a big guy so I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
  7. Thanks for the link mdlave. I didn't see that thread earlier.
  8. I ordered the MTAC on 6/1/08 and had it in my hands by 6/7/08. Very fast turn around and I was very pleased by that. The holster itself is comfortable to wear and the level of concealment that it offers is excellent. My issue is that I can't draw my gun without using both hands. If I am sitting the retention is absolutely perfect. Not too much and not too little. When I am standing though, it won't come free of the holster without one hand to hold the holster and the other to draw my gun. I don't think the problem is my belt and I already have the belt as tight as I can comfortably tolerate. I noticed that there are 4 screws holding the kydex body to the leather. Can I just loosen those a little to improve performance?
  9. I noticed that all of Voldemort's posts have disappeared, but his account is still active. In fact his latest activity shows as sometime early this morning. So what happened?
  10. That makes sense. If you're receiving money for doing surveillance or investigative work then you are running a business. To run a business you have to be licensed.
  11. True but when I say "off the radar" I am more referring to the fact that there is no paper trail anywhere of my purchase. And if my refusal to use a FTF means that you won't sell to me that is absolutely your right. If I want the gun badly enough or if the deal is that great and you require me to fill out a FTF form then I guess I don't have much choice.
  12. The FTF form would make me think twice about buying a gun from an individual, but I have no problem w/a sales receipt. I dislike giving out my personal information especially when it is not required by law. I also like the idea of having guns that are off the radar.
  13. I call bovine scatology on this. Exactly what city in the United States has used this program before?
  14. 1) The implication that since he didn't serve in the military his opinion is somehow of less importance than your own and he is somehow a second class citizen. And That since you did serve you automatically know what is best. 2) Why do you assume that he would be making it hard on the officer? Is is not equally true that the officer is making it hard on him for no apparent reason?
  15. There's something wrong with this statement, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
  16. Been to the ER lately?
  17. The least they can do is send her a bill for the man hours wasted due to her stupidity. /not joking
  18. You sir, owe me the proverbial new keyboard.
  19. The South is not the only place that rednecks live. A cousins wedding reception several years ago involved shouting, fighting, a disconnected 911 call, the police and arrest of the brother of the bride. Fun times.

If you buy from a local store you're not only helping the local economy but if you have any questions or problems you can always call or go back to the store. Not so much with a gun show bought one though.
  21. I don't know anything about this company, but the first results after googling "desert eagle holster" was this link. Holsters
  22. Are you profiling me? :tinfoil: I tried to do a little more digging into who actually said it and so far all I can come up with is a guy named John Connor. No, not the kid from Terminator. . Apparently this guy writes for American Handgunner, but I haven't found any biography information on him so I have no idea what his background or qualifications are. Sorry Mars.
  23. Usually a 9mm, but I'll sometimes switch it up and carry my .45 instead.
