  1. How does being worried about a potential assault weapon ban mean I must be wearing a tin foil hat??? I think some people are too quick to play the "he must be wearing a tin foil hat" card when they see something that they don't agree with.
  2. I'm probably going to swing by Guns and Leather this week and pick up a DPMS lower. I have absolutely no desire to build my own but I just can't afford to buy one that is already built right now. Assuming that any new AWB is going to be similar to the old one, is there anything else I need to purchase before it is banned?
  3. I have no problem respecting their no tobacco policy while on their campus and in fact I followed their policy. It's their property and they can make whatever rules they want to. My problem is that they are trying to enforce the policy where they do not have the right to. It's verges on the edge of insanity to try and force patients who have recently had major surgery to walk an additional block to smoke. I called Metro Public Works today and spoke with Bonnie (862-8781). According to her Murphy Avenue between 23rd and 22nd is a public street. Since the road is open to the public CMC's ownership ends at the sidewalk. They have no right to try and enforce their rules on anyone who is on public property.
  4. Yeah, he did tell me and my wife (the patient) that we couldn't smoke there. He told us we had to walk down to 22nd Ave to smoke.
  5. No trouble. Just a difference of opinion with their rent-a-cops. Centennial is a tobacco free campus. Their security guard told me I couldn't smoke on the sidewalk so I stepped into the street and he said they owned the streets as well. I'm pretty darn sure he is either lying or mis-informed. The street has regular signage like you'd see on any other street and the street is open to the public. If Centennial doesn't own the street and/or sidewalk then he can't tell me to not smoke there.
  6. I'm trying to find out if the roads that go through the Centennial campus are owned by Centennial or by Metro Nashville. Specifically Murphy Ave. If anybody knows of a link I would greatly appreciate it.
  7. He could start be pardoning Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,244441,00.html
  8. The two people I'm talking about are 35'ish and 50'ish. And yes....it's very sad
  9. I haven't posted in a while, but I just had to post this. This is not a joke. I asked the 2 people in my office how many states there were. A pretty simple question right? The first person answered 52 and the second person answered 51. Both of them also said that there were over 50 because Alaska is now a state.
  10. I third or fourth the thermite idea. [ame] [/ame]

NM, the problem was on my end. The video works just fine.

That's odd. I get an error message from YouTube saying the video is no longer available.
  13. It's definitely possible. As a matter of fact it's already happened in some places. Supreme Court Article Local Nashville Business Owner Fights Eminent Domain
  14. Forums don't usually make me actually lol, but that picture was hilarious Punisher. New keyboard....
  15. The potential for going to jail just for shooting your firearm in your own backyard is one of the reasons I left Davidson County.
  16. I'm trying to find a 12x16 shed/workshop for the backyard. The last shed that I bought was a "kit" from 84 Lumber. The problem is that they closed their store in Springfield. Can anyone tell me where I can find a shed kit that includes all the wood, fasteners, plans. I'm trying to keep the price <= $2000.
  17. Ever noticed the wire mesh in a microwave door before? That's one example of a faraday cage.
  18. It always makes me mad when I hear about stuff like this. It's not right or fair that someones life can be ruined by a simple accusation with no supporting evidence. It seems the whole "Innocent until proven guilty" thing is well and truly dead. If she doesn't drop the OP can you not file an OP against her?
  19. I've been out of IL for 11 years myself and the only reason I go back is to visit family.
  20. You also mentioned you were on your way to dinner. I'm hoping that your instructor covered the part of the law that says you can not carry where alcohol is server for on-site consumption. (assuming the restaurant you were headed to serves alcohol)
  21. I've had a goatee for about 13 or 14 years now and the only thing that's changed is the amount of grey in it. To tell the truth, I'm kind of scared to shave it off and see what I look like. The last time I did that was shortly after I got married and the wife told me to grow it back, because she felt like she was molesting a 17 year old. I'm older now so it probably won't be as bad now.
  22. I just know I'm gonna get in trouble for this.... but what about this mars? http://www.touchofgray.com/index.asp

    S&W- M&P .40

I can definitely attest to those two problems on my M&P 9. Since Guns and Leather now has a gunsmith on site I think I might take it over to him and see if he can fix those problems. Overall though I think it's a pretty good gun.
  24. So I guess you wouldn't like shooting my M&P 9 then since I switched the mag release to the right hand???
