I think MidWayUSA.com carries them.

I haven't bought it yet, but the MTAC has a bunch of good reviews. I think MolonLabeTN has used it so you might ask him about it.

Centennial Hospital in Nashville?
dariks replied to dariks's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Centennial is definitely posted, but it's not posted correctly. Their signage consists of a gun with the international circle and slash and the phrase "Weapons prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted. Since it was cold out this morning, I had on a t-shirt, sweater and light coat. Garments that lend themselves very well to concealed carry. If I had actually carried that is. -
Centennial Hospital in Nashville?
dariks replied to dariks's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Thanks Rabbi. I guess I'll leave my gun at home tomorrow then. -
I looked in the CCW Prohibited Locations section of the database and did not see Centennial Hospital in Nashville listed. Does anyone know if it is posted or not? Specifically the Womens Hospital portion. \I like the fact the we have a database, but I think it would be more useful if we could also list places that are NOT posted. For instance, the Catfish House in Springfield is not posted and they do not serve alcohol either. Just a thought.

The M&P9 was the first gun I bought as well. It's a good gun and the 9mm is a little cheaper to shoot than some other calibers. You're right. One gun is never going to be enough. After I bought the M&P I decided I wanted to get a compact .45 for carry purposes. My next purchase will likely be either a shotgun or a rifle (AR-15 probably). As far as ammo goes, Wally World usually has the 100 round value packs of WWB for around $15-$17. Bass Pro shops carries 250 round value packs of UMC, but I don't remember the price on them. Welcome and enjoy your new addiction.

My parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. still live in and around that area.

I lived about 20 miles west of Peoria in Glasford. Been in TN for about 11 years now and there's no way I'd go back to IL now. Welcome to TN and TGO.

Congratulations!

She doesn't like them, but she does know where they are and how to use them. The only one not hidden is the one on the nightstand. There is no drawer on it so I don't really have a way of concealing that one.

I'm probably a little old fashioned in my view, but that's just the way I am. I won't make excuses for it and I won't apogolize for it either. Would I want her to be able to look after her own safety? Absolutely.Does she have even the smallest desire to learn? Not really. I HAVE made some progress. The progress is slow, but it IS progress. When we first got married she absolutely hated guns and would not even touch one. Now I can occasionally get her to go to the range where I rent a little Walther .22 for her to shoot. Even that is sometimes too much for, but she does try. I won't/can't force her to do anything she doesn't want to, so all I can do is to just keep hammering away at it.

I haven't really given that a lot of thought, mainly because I've never had any trouble in my neighborhood. I do own a safe, but it is kind of a pain to use. Opening it requires you to get down on the floor, use a key and enter the combination, so I probably wouldn't use it on a daily basis. I like keeping the revolver on the nightstand, because for a sleep addled brain it would be the easiest gun to use. Getting one of those biometric safes would probably be the best solution for that.

I was born and raised in IL so you can imagine how my parents feel about me carrying. My dad hasn't really said anything about it, but my mom definitely doesn't like it to say the least. My parents are down here visiting for the week. The first night they were here I came home from work and sat in my recliner, after unholstering and setting my gun on the end table next to me, my mom looks at me and says "I hope you put all your guns up when you have kids." I don't have any kids so I keep several guns around the house that are loaded and ready to go. It is a very rare day indeed when there are kids in my house, but when there are kids in the house the guns get put either out of reach or in the safe. My parents don't understand why I carry. They think I'm being paranoid. Someone has the phrase "When seconds count, the cops are only minutes away" as their sig line. I take that to heart. The safety of me and my wife is MY responsibility. You can not depend on others to provide it. My parents just don't "get it".

Condition 1 1/2 I think. Loaded chamber, decocked, manual safety on.

I think this falls under the category of "Better safe than sorry." For the small amount a FFL transfer would cost, I would just go ahead and do it.

As long as it's not legally posted, you can carry in a bank here in TN.

That link is NSFW (Not Safe For Work) so be careful.

When I go to schools it's not to pick up or drop off anyone. I'm there to work.

Is there any case law that demonstrates this? I really don't want to be the first one. I frequently have to go to metro schools and various colleges so knowing the correct and legal answer is pretty important.

This is where I get confused. Section "b" says it's a felony to possess a handgun, but makes no mention of a vehicle. Section "c" says it's a misdemeanor, but as long as you don't handle the handgun then you are ok. So which is right? Is it legal for me to have a handgun in the glovebox (never handled on school property) or not? 39-17-1309. I'm left handed and right eye dominant. I normally shoot in a modern isosceles stance which pretty much negates the whole problem with cross eye domination.

My condolences. Welcome to TGO!

Is $200 a month for cable TV and Internet too much?
dariks replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
DVR's are the best thing since sliced bread. I absolutely hate commercials and now I don't have to watch them anymore. I rarely watch "live" tv anymore either. -
Amen.
