  1. Are you sure it wasn't the lock and stow? self service storage.
  2. This is what worked for me, when you have a good sight picture and getting ready to fire, look at your front sight (like normal) but as you fire make sure you see the muzzle flash in your peripheral vision. Sounds too simple but it worked for me!
  3. On the xd, if you have a round in the chamber you can run your finger along the top of the slide and the extractor will be raised insuring a round is chambered. The firing pin protruding is only an indicator that the weapon is cocked. I don't know what is up with his pistol, but I just checked mine and I can rack the slide without engaging the grip safety. Hope this helps. Billy
  4. if you want to do it yourself there is one of those shops in Hendersonville that you rent a stall, its up there next to O'rielly on main st. fwiw.
  5. Just wanted to toot my own horn for a minute, I just got windows 7 ultimate both 32 bit and 64 bit versions free! I won them at a windows 7 roll out party. I have bad memory on the computer I am installing it on so I have to wait a couple of days for the memory to get here and I will install the new windows. Now to just decide if I want the 32 bit or the 64 bit.
  6. Ham can get very expensive, but most guys just buy used stuff which is a lot more affordable also once you get set up you don't have to keep buying stuff. I have been a ham since 1994 and I haven't bought anything in about 10 years. good luck and keep at it, ham can be a very rewarding hobby. 73s Billy KE4PJR

  9. I am not a gun smith, but I think cartridges such as the .357 don't "headspace", but just sit on the rim so there is not "headspacing" to take care of.
  10. I used to be, I have been fairly inactive for a while now, I got started for a few weeks when I upgraded to general but haven't even turned the rig on in probably 6 months. I have an Icom 706 mk IIg with a wire dipole for hf and a 13 element beam for 2 meter, and a 3 element beam for 6 meter.
  11. What mode are you working? cw, psk, usb? or just fm and tropo? Billy KE4PJR
  12. I ripped the front sight off a glock drawing from a holster one time, I would be afraid to carry one with a sight that large, but you have my best wishes!
  13. Ok, if they all use different lumens ratings, how do you know what you are getting? Or is all just a crap shoot? Throw a lot of money at it and hope for the best?

  18. If you know the guy, I would jump on it in a heart beat!
  19. I am not a gun smith, but it would seem that if the firing pin is not binding or anything along those lines, then the problem would almost have to be a weak hammer spring.
  20. I would be careful and make sure its not stolen, remember the old adage, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  21. I drive a tractor trailer for a living and the running "joke" with my girlfriend is that I spend all day saving peoples lives by not killing them for their own stupidity.
  22. I don't have a problem with them praying there, as long as those of other faiths are allowed also.
