I like the looks of it. Know several people who own and like them. It's down on my "someday" list; way too many toys ahead of it. But I do like the .22 Mag. One of the most fun guns I own to just go out and shoot is an old SW K-frame Combat Masterpiece in .22 Magnum. Deadly accurate and a blast to shoot. My dad used to use it for head shots on squirrels and wild turkeys in the woods. A real keeper.

The discussion over brand reliability will go on forever. I personally believe the quality of workmanship on each individual gun is more important than brand or caliber. I have a keltec 32 that functions reliabliy and didn't ''require" an extended breakin period. The first session I put 100 rounds downrange and try to do that once a month with it just to keep familiar with it. Round count should be in the 2000+ now. I have had three PT145's and had no problems with either of them The same with a Milpro PT140. But I have friends who have had issues with the same pistols. One of the best shooting guns I own is a SW Performance Center 945 Micro Pistol. The most I've ever paid for a gun in my life. But I just had to have a "dependable, high priced 45." It's probably the worst functioning pistols ever--FTF's,FTE's, slide lock issues, magazine problems (just try to find mags for them--almost 6 months from Smith @ 49.00 each). And this out of the Performance center! Yet I have other Smiths I won't part with-59/model 41/revolvers galore. Two Berettas--one great, one a problem child. Several Springfields, Glocks, Colts, etc. But my point is this...workmanship and quality parts make quality, dependable products. I don't really think high round breakin periods should be necessary; but it seems to be a give these days with the majority of autoloaders. Just one of the things we have to put up with. Looks like a really good job. How durable do you think the finish is? Will be? Yeah, I know, dumb questions. But I have no experience with refinishing products. I have a buddy with an old police trade-in, SW model 10, that needs major help. When cleaning it the first time with Nitro 9, the entire finish just wiped off. Leaving him with a kind of cool looking gun, but totally unprotected. I'm just guessing that it had a poor refinish job to begin with.

Don't know for certain, but the CZ Rami 9 is the smallest I've run into.

Bronker, I got the alloy version, 9mm. Considerably smaller than the xd9sc. Smaller hands like mine will find that the little finger will rest comfortably under the mag. At least mine does. Holds great. Shoots really well and very accurate. Seems to have a little more snap to it than the xd9, really closer to a full size 40 to me. I was using S&B fmj and winchester slivertips, with a few Prvi Partisan fmj. About 75 rounds and no problems with the 10 round mags. Had a 18 rounder that gave a few FTF's. Possible weak spring, tried to retension it, but haven't taken it back out yet.

Yeah, I know how it feels too. Both my trucks were hit a couple of years ago. Bold little neighborhood deliquents hit them even with floods on the house. Since then, I use motion sensor units and hit the floor when the lights come on. I try to set them so that it takes something larger than the neighbors dogs/cats set them off.

Sort of Ferris Bueler meets the orginal Night of the Living Dead. Bill Murrary almost stole it. But I got to say that Woody Harrelson made the movie.

Recently bought a CZ Rami Compact. So far, I really like it. This one is the SA/Da version, which isn't my favorite of the compacts; but it is growing on me.

Love the Cocobolo grips! I like to see those on my SA Operator.

With the stated budget, Check out the SW Sigma 9mm/40 series. I bought a Sigma 40 dirt cheap from a kid last year with the intention of trading or making a few dollars on it. After shooting it I decided to keep it as an all-purpose house backup. Shoots really good, really accurate, and have had no FTF/FTE issues at all. It's not my favorite gun by a long shot, but it's cheap and serviceable, and goes Bang! every time so far. And I can't say that about some of the more expensive and finicky guns I've got. JMO.
