Wish I'd listened more closely to mine. I'd be a better person today.

Methinks Collin might be a tad suspect.

Permitless carry will affect those with a permit....
hipower replied to chances R's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Good clear and concise. I like it. So my 2 day, supposedly 16 hour class with the late, great, Buford Tune got me what is now an Enhanced Carry Permit? Name on the card might change when my renewal comes up in 2025? -
Good SHTF Survival Fiction Books
hipower replied to plank white's topic in Survival and Preparedness
That seems to be the usual case with book-to-movie adaptations. The current movie MONSTERS is a great example. I absolutely cannot believe how bad it was. Larry Correia's books in this series are great. Also one of the all-time stinkers for me...Raise the Titanic. Such a wonderful book. Read and re-read many times. Some of Clive Cussler's best work. The movie was one of the worst I've ever seen. ADD I agree about WWZ as well. No relation to the novel. Well not enough to make it any good. -
Good SHTF Survival Fiction Books

Thanks for the commentary on the "Crisis" books. I have seen them and been intrigued, just haven't bought any yet. Have far too many lying around now that I'll probably never have enough time to read before I'm gone. Plus, I just started re-reading some of my older stuff. William W. Johnstone's Ashes series, and Jerry Ahern's Survivalist books. Also have A. American's Going Home, and Joe Nobody's books in line. Both are quite dated now, but still enjoyable for me. If you want some sheer trashy fun, try Mack Maloney's Wingman series. I can't believe I actually once bought the Wingman stuff. lol. -

PRODUCT WARNING AND RECALL NOTICE WINCHESTER® 9mm Luger 115 grain

Blind those days I guess. -
Where can I find a smaller than 55 gal drum to use as a burn barrel? Would prefer something about half that size. Just to use for mail and some old documents.

PRODUCT WARNING AND RECALL NOTICE WINCHESTER® 9mm Luger 115 grain

Would have been nice to have some information on production dates on this though. Would save some of us a lot of trouble in digging thru boxes! -
That would be fantastic! A new gun store and a possible range! I'm all for it! Nothing against GlockStore, but the lack of a traditional range disappoints me greatly. I'll be watching as well.

As I read all these comments and wishes and prayers offered, I am reminded once again why I spend so much time here. So many very good people! I thank you one and all for your prayers. Now to update the situation. Molly is much better, not perfect; but gaining a little strength everyday. Has begun to eat a bit more and is drinking water well. The lasting concern is her weight loss. Has been a solid 36/39 pounds for the last 5/6 years. She has dropped to 32 in the last few weeks. Fears of the C word and some elevated liver enzymes are here. I refuse to be pessimistic. But I understand her age and condition. Whatever comes our way, I know such a beautiful and loving spirit as she has will be waiting for us if she leaves before us to join her other friends gone before. God does not give such gifts as these to simply remove them forever from us. So again brothers...we thank you for all the prayers and beautiful messages. I will keep information coming as I get something to tell.

Susan would beat us all in going after anyone hurting Molly or any other animal.

Thanking God and you all for prayers! We see some improvement this morning. Molly has actually stood and walked out to potty. Drank some water nibbled on a few chopped bits a greenie. Not much, but first in 24 hours. Not saying all is perfect, but Molly is much better this morning.

Thank you all. Molly is still holding on tonight. I believe your prayers are helping. ER Vet has no idea other than age or possibly a med reaction from liver pills. We declined the idea of leaving her, and brought her home where she an be more comfortable and familiar surroundings. Did get her to drink a little water, so that's a good sign I think. She is quiet and dreaming right now. Whatever comes, my thanks. We are still praying for a healing and more time with her.

Thank you my friend. Appreciated.

Thank you. More later.

Some will say I'm being foolish...but I don't care. I know there are lovers of all God's wonderful creations here, and though it may be too late; I ask for a small prayer for the life of my very best friend and companion of 12 years...Molly. She's been having a few problems lately, and I won't go into them now. Let's just say we've devoted a lot of time and funds on her over the years, and I fear that her release from all this is near. It's been rough on her with injuries before. But the little trooper has never whined or cried out from her pain. Always a bright eye and a wagging tail for me at every moment. Well that's changed today. Molly hasn't moved unless absolutely forced to and has refused all forms of food, water, even her favorite...Greenies. That in and of itself doesn't sound all that bad, but coupled with the things I'm not saying...I'm extremely worried and fearful this afternoon. So if you could spare a moment for a prayer for her. Thank you brothers.

Not really being a real knowledgeable person on knives, I just have to say I like the looks of GT's knives. I think I have bought 10 since i first saw his postings. No real use for them. I don't carry a fixed blade. Why??? Just like them. lol That, and a fondness for Damascus gets me into trouble with GT products. I also have been mumbling about asking for a custom Bowie. Just haven't really do it yet. And for your liking peejman...the upper one in the pic is absolutely gorgeous! Wish I'd gotten to it before you.

The Holosun Store -- buyer beware
hipower replied to Whisper's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
That I did not know. Very interesting. I have a friend who convinced me to go with Holosun because his Romeo 5 died on its first range session. I have 4 Holosun units now and am exceedingly happy with them. Have bought from Amazon and Optics Planet without any trouble from either. But that could always change. Online ordering is so very easy, but I just miss walking into a brick&morter store and actually seeing and handling things before buying. But that kind of shopping is rapidly disappearing. -
The dipped version didn't look too bad except for the way too short stock.
