    Colt Defender .45

^^Great advice! All too often, we are overly influenced by other people and their stories of gun issues. Although there are exceptions, not all guns of a particular type or model will have the same troubles. When you get it, check it out, clean it well, and go shooting. Find out for yourself!
  2. Good to have you here, Jerry. Welcome and Thanks for your Service to our Country. And you're not old--just experienced.

  4. I found these at the local Harbor Freight outlet for $2.99, not the $21.95+s&h here. It's fun to use, but no better than a tennis racket or a 2x4. The battery power does put out a pretty stong tingle for a short time, so don't pat the wife or girlfriend on the butt with it;...or maybe do.
  5. My bil has an orginal Coonan and it's great. I'd like to see the new product up close and personal, but I'd definitely be interested. Seems that we moved slightly off track there. But everyone's right; the 1911 bug bites without warning and doesn't let loose. But at least the bite isn't fatal, just expensive to treat.
  6. +1. My sincerest hope.
  7. Wonder what the "official" attendence was at all these gatherings? Must have been at least "hundreds."
  8. You're right. Just enough correct information to be worrisome. I really dislike having anything out there I didn't want. But I guess 1984 has finally come to pass.
  9. Georgeous Springer! Sorry I didn't find it first.
  10. tax refund coming!
  11. Ditto. I'd love to get my hands on that for a shooting session!
  12. I have an XD in 357sig. Great pistol--accurate, a little snappier than a 45 round, but not unmanagable. It has a little harsher muzzle blast with almost any load and is quite loud. I also just acquired a Glock 30 and much prefer it to the 357. Just my preference. My only complaint with the little glock is that I get the occasional finger pinch from the gap with the grip and magazine. Just have to watch my hold and it's fine. Either should be a good choice, just pick the most comfortable for you and go.
  13. Congratulations. You've raised an intelligent and right-thinking daughter who knows the value of protective skills. I don't have a daughter, but do have a young cousin moving to Nashville to intern with Nissan and plan to send her to HCP class as soon as she's settled.
  14. M&P...for all the above reasons, plus it just looks better.
  15. Bil has one and really likes it. I've run a few rounds thru it and find it acceptable. The trench site takes a little getting used to. Personally, for the cost, there are other small-frame guns I'd get. Don't know about all the particulars, but there have been several recall notes on them so far.
  16. Brrrrrrr. I hate snakes. Glad you're ok. Good shooting and reaction. Watch out for a mate to this one.
  17. As others have said already...Thank you. Stay safe. we look forward to your return.
  18. Well guess how I feel about the Browning Hipower? My Belgian model was the third pistol I bought, right after a Browning BDA 380. My first purchase was a pos German Police trade-in, the HK4. Anybody have or had one? It was so bad, I took it back to the seller and traded it in on the BDA. Anyway, really love the feel of the hipower in my hand. Fits perfectly. Just as comfortable as a 1911. JMB was a genius with designs!

    Brother

Thank him for us. I will pray for him as well as all our service members.
  20. My wife and I watched it last week. Very good, thought-provoking movie. Much better than Gamer. Wife was drop-jawed at the end twists. Definitely will try to watch again.
  21. I hope some of you watched the segement "I'm a Good Ole' Americam" Wonderfully done.

    My New Colt

Absolutely Georgeous!! The jeweling on hammer and backstap are beautiful. Did you consider on the trigger too? And the grips are aces.
  23. All of the above. I'm a Taurus fan and I woulndn't do this trade. In a nutshell, you're giving a good carry gun for an oversize piece of questionable worth. Althougth, I'd like a judge, there have been too many unresolve issues with them yet to purchase one. And for you to give money between them is just not even right. If you want one, save and buy it outright. You will be much better off and a lot happier in the long run.
  24. I know, like me, you took one on a trade and can't get rid of it.
  25. Still, I'd check with Sig Customer Service Center. Shouldn't have ramp issues on something this new and they can take care of the mag problem at the same time. I'm not the most experienced guy here, but those are two issues I wouldn't want in a carry gun. And check with your seller, maybe he can furnish information or posssibly sales reciept for the pistol. But I still think Sig would stand behind a broken feed ramp. I know the mag problems are getting resolved for people.
