    1911 Gun PoRn

Absolutely Beautiful!!! When I sell some stuff, I'd sure like to get one; or a Kimber Raptor.
  2. Totally agree!
  3. Please include the cheap, broke old guy (me) in you kind act.
  4. The first four were pretty good. Missed the 5th, and thought the last was only fair. And if you've seen the movies, don't waste time reading Robert Parker's books; the movies are much better.
  5. Tom Selleck Penelope Cruz
  6. Don't be ashamed to say it! There are a lot of good, even great Taurus products out there that are reliably carried and used for edc and home defense; some guys are just possibly too brainwashed to admit it. My first full-time edc was a Milpro in .45 and was an excellent weapon. Granted, I bought for the low price then, and have graduated to more expensive guns in later years, but I still feel safe in taking it out anywhere.
  7. Good Luck and God Bless you. I know what you are going thru. Wife and I were rudely awakened by noise from the garage Sunday morning about 7:30 to find the fridge floating in 3 feet of water and the house surrounded by 4-5 feet. Dressed quickly, grabbed the dog and cat and went out the back door, wading around the garage to get to a place to climb up the hill beside us. Couldn't get past the corner because of swift water and had to wait for the neighbors who had been trying to get to us out. They could only hold on to our hands while waiting for the Fire Dept. to get there. Then a 24 ft. ladder was placed on the bank by the FD and we climbed up it. So we got out ok, but lost the cat in the water. Molly, the Austrialian Shepherd is great. She thought the water was playtime. Anyway, God really blessed us. We got out. The house has some floor damage. The heat pump is fried and the duct work will need replacing. The garage, my work shop and wifes craft room were pretty well totalled. Unfortunately, the gun safe wasn't safe. Two feet of water in it and it sat for 2days before we could get back in. I'm getting a lot of help from a wonderful brother-in-law whos is cleaning all the pistols and rifles for me while I try to salvage what I can from the rest. Looks like a couple of stocks will need refinishing and some long hours detailing the rest. But we weren't hurt, and we have a home still; unlike others around us. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, just relating a story. My heartfelt thanks to neighbors and Metro Fire Dept. for all their help.
  8. After last week's thread on the Avatar release, I wondered what movie everyone would most like to see that hadn't been released on BR. One of my favorites was just released this week. I'd been wanting Armageddon for a long time. The sound is unreal on it and the clarity is tremendous. Even the dated effects and CGI work come across really well. What have you been wanting to see re-released in BR?
  9. Lets go back to fondling and drooling over guns. At least I can understand that.
  10. WTH!!??? I feel old and confused.
  11. Thanks. Will try to get down in next few weeks.
  12. And run around yelling "Armageddon, Armageddon!"
  13. Sweet!! Do mind telling the features and mods to it? Rough pricing? I'm looking into a full-size 1911 next.

    The Big Cheese!

    Make that Extra Sharp Cheddar!!
  15. God Bless You and Keep You and your Family. You will be remembered in my prayers.
  16. Welcome to Glockitis. Just recently got my second--a G30. Really like it better than the G22. Have been pretty much been a Springfield fan and still am, but...
  17. Foolishly sold both of them, but the prettiest guns I've ever owned have to be the beautiful blue 4" Python and the SS 629 44Mag.
  18. May god Bless and keep you and your buddies. Thanks for your Service!

    New .45

No bad choices there. Got a Springer and a Glock. Would like a DW. Pick your favorite and go shooting!
  20. Point 1--The review is right on point for me. A very pretentious movie full of allegorical story and commentary...meant to further the cause of those wanting a non-technological society and lifestyle to "save mother earth from the evil human population." Point 2--As entertainent, if that's what Cameron accidently did while furthering the liberal agenda and propaganda of the movie, it was only moderatly good. It was full of vibrant imagery and color and wonderful CGI work. Probably the best ever. So it was fun to watch for some of us. Point 3--As a message piece, I felt like I was being beat over the head with the terrible way we have treated native peoples and destroying our poor, poor world. Can't we just have meaningless escapism in our movies again? Do we really have to be berated even when trying to remove ourselves from real world problems and just have a little relaxation?
  21. Not to change the subject from Avatar, but I agree ...BR gives the absloute best picture in today's market. Personal opinion. The BR player enhances standard dvd play as well, as most know. My first home BR movie was "50 First Dates" and we were blown away with the colors and scenery. I bought Avatar yesterday and am waiting for a time this weekend to watch, probably Sunday afternoon after meeting Erik88 for a little firearms business.
  22. Glad to see the fine arts of communication skills are alive and well in you young whipper-snappers.
  23. Well said, Murg. Welcome to TGO. Welcome to the fun.
  24. Ditto. I've sold a few of my firearms lately and usually tell them up front that I'd like a Bill of Sale or transfer form of a sort for my records. I've not had anyone object to this so far. It just seems wise to have documentation on your personal property to me. And when I've bought from an individual lately, almost every one has wanted to do the same.
  25. I'm sure it's pretty obvious. It was the first really good pistol I bought. Then I took it to a bowling pin match one weekend and learned why most of the guys were using 45's. After the humiliation was over, one of the guys said something to the effect of "Hey Hipower, get a bigger gun." So I kinda liked it and used it when registering on the forum.
