  1. Sorry for you, GG. Had mine done about 10 yeas ago. If you're not overweight, you shouldn't have any real problems. I was packing around some extra poundage and was sore when bending or getting in and out of a car for a while. But it really isn't too bad nowadays.
  2. A four foot tall lamp made from the petrifed husk of a saguaro cactus.
  3. Mark, really glad to see the M37 survived. My wife had a similar occurance several years ago. She was sitting at a light waiting to make a left turn from the marked turn lane. While waiting, a 16-yr old girl decided the my wife wasn't moving fast enough to suit her. The teen drove her new Nissan Sentra around the left side of my old lifted Chevy Blazer 4X4; the kind with real steel bumpers; to make a Right turn. See where this is headed? About the time said teenage driver in low plastic Nissan pulls around the big, tall hunk of metal Blazer--the left turn arrow comes on. The result--some brown paint on the right front bumper end of the Chevy. The Nissan didn't fare so well. The right side of the Sentra hung the bumper end at the top of the fender, peeled it back, raked both passenger side doors and breaking windows, gashed the rear quarter panel, hooked the rear tire and bent the axle, and finally ripped thr rear cover almost totally off the car. During this my wife is terrified she's going to run over the top of the Sentra and just locks the brake after moving a coulpe of feet...Needless to say Metro officer arrives at the scene and asks my wife to move out of the traffic, and and where is the other vehicle involved. As Susan tells the story, the officer is shaking his head and trying not to laugh. About this time I roll up(I got called real quickly, Susan was worried that my toy was hurt) look for damage and can't find anything, look at her face, look at the Sentra, and try to figure out how to tell my insurance agent about this. No one will believe it. Anyway after the paperwork is done the young girl says her dad will really be upset. This is the second new car in about three months. So I guess this just shows the idiot driving gene is everywhere.
  4. Congraatulations to vandutton! He may have just caused an unbelievable event on TGO. A unanimous vote. BTW, van. I agree that's a very poor trade for you. I like my keltec, but the springer is much better.
  5. Hey, but at least she can enunciate the lyrics and be understood. Unlike some of the screaming banshee styles of today where the lyrics are so foul you have to drown them out with noise...uh music, that is. Yeah, I know I'm just old and don't like the kid's music today. But that's okay, you'll be there someday too.
  6. Man, I like George, But that outfit hurt my eyes even back then.
  7. Tactically disaproved response: For GGP2JZ Steelharp > Ppphhhhhhfffftttttt!!!! Capbyrd For tntnixon, I know what you mean brother.
  8. Yes. Or a PT1911 can be had in the 500 range.
  9. Like Jamie, I have too many to list. But usually on the top of the pile will be found some of these; in no particular order. Brad Paisley/Garth Brooks/Jethro Tull/Al Stewart/Sugarland/Jimmy Buffet/Matt Murphy/SRV/BB King/Marty Robbins/Johnny Horton/Marc Cohn/Mark Knoffler/Blues Brothers/Meatloaf/and did I mention Jennifer Nettles and Sugarland..really like her...and her voice too.

  11. Doh!!
  12. I found this thread just in time for breakfast menu planning.
  13. What Garufa said. I really regret selling a beautiful 39 some years back when the hicap phase hit us all.
  14. I have an XD40 Tactical and ended up trading for a Glock 22 last year. Personally, I don't think there's enough difference between the two to fuss over. Both shoot very well. Both are comfortable in my hand and I have a most agreeably low cost in each. The only thing I really can say is that I prefer the grip safety on the XD now that I've shot both enough to break them in. But to confuse the issue, I prefer my Glock 30 to the XD45.
  15. Ok, some really great ideas here guys. And for what it's worth, here are my picks: Babylon 5, Space Above And Beyond, FIREFLY, Moonlight, Flashforward, Surface--but only for Lake Bell, Invasion, Dinosaurs, ALF, and very surprised no one mentioned The Tick.
  16. I agree, David Lynch is one seriously strange dude.
  17. Thank you for awnsering and proving that my impression and assesment was correct. I can be a smartass too,at times; so I'll not hold it against you. But I will say you'd make a lot less of a negative and irritating impression here by dropping the fumbling, uneducated immigrant act.
  18. This question has plagued me, and I dare say others here for long enough. Is strel for real? and I mean that in a literal sense. Reminds me too much of an agitator. The broken grammer and syntax. The spelling and broken English. The misuse of of words and bad spelling. Upper and lower case letters randomly used. The roughly formed phrases. Then...a perfectly formed sentence with no ambiguities, no question of the meaning or intent of the wording. I really am beginning to feel like there's a rat in the woodpile here. This guy reminds me entirely too much of kwikernu. All bs and enough knowledge to do real damage to others. Does anyone here know strel? Personally? So I ask again...Strel, are you for real? You just don't add up to me. If I'm wrong here, I humbly apologize and will take my chastisement and deservedly so. But I really question all this. From your first posting and comments; I've felt like you were silently laughing at us all. I've worked with immigrants both legal and otherwise. Those who spoke English and some who didn't. My former job had me in contact daily with shops and businesses operated by both legal and illegal. From all the usual countries and the different nationalities we find in middle Tennessee. And I'm still puzzled as I read the threads you post in. You really do puzzle me. As an immigrant, you don't really come across as one who appreciates where you are and the opportunities you have here. If you disagree so much with the way things are here...Like has been suggested...try California or someplace else. And if this gets me kicked out...it's been fun.
  19. This is a little off-track, so please pardon me. I have no long term experience withe the PC wheel guns, but I own 2 autos--a 945Micro and a 4013TSW. Both are accurate and fun to shoot, but a little finiky with ammo and need to be well lubed and fanatically clean to function properly. My brothe-in-law has a PC952 that is a dream and doesn't require quite the care mine do. I have handled and shot several PC revolvers, among them several Thunder Ranch variants, and a couple of 44's and a 41 mag. The revolvers in my opinion, are much better and I would, money permitting, would like to have one...or two... Anyway, I'd put them in a class with the best of the Colt Pythons, and maybe even better. If you've got the bucks, go for it.
  20. +1 on the LEO trade in's. I've had a couple as well and except for some holster wear, they have been great. And for what it's worth, I have a G22 and find it great. However, my favorite at this time is the G30--a great little powehouse in 45. Light, accurate, and not a problem since I got it here from a fellow member.
  21. Doesn't matter, too many witness still alive to deny any of it.
  22. The only speed issues I have with the site are because of an old computer system and an even older non-computer-literate dinosaur on the keyboard. Wel I do have one other speed issue...but that's for another thread.
  23. Maybe Steven Brust? His books' cover art is fantastic.
