    My BAD Habit

Just browsing this morning and found this. OMG! My wife must never see a scene like that. She knows I have them, but the sight of them all in one sitting might be deterimental to my health and well-being. But that's a nice collection of long guns. I typically go for handguns, but I see a disturbing pattern beginning lately--a few more long barrels are showing up around the house.
  2. I'll add my late "Thanks" as well. Looking for new muffs and this gives me great information to work with. Just on the basis of these posts I've gotten some very good ideas of what I need to look for. Thanks again.
  3. That definitely identifies the situation. As I was pulling the sheets out I noticed what I thought was fiberglass threads in the board. This was full 3/4 thickness with spacer blocks about every 12-16 inches to attach to the metal walls. The interior wall was held off the safe wall about a half inch by these spacers. The basic constuction was quite simple so I expect that with cleaning, painting, and sealing; the safe should still be just fine for it's intended purpose.

    GSG 1911 .22lr

Do you mind telling who you ordered thru? I understood the initial run was sold out. I think I'd like to order one as well. And I'd just gotten a steal on a Sig Mosquito with a threaded barrel. Oh well, at least I can afford to shoot 22.
  5. MY day didn't amount to as much as some of you guys. I got up and cleaned the house, did six loads of laundry, remade the beds and stayed out of the wife's way so she could plant her flowers for the dog to dig up. Then came here for my daily entertainment.
  6. Nope. Just plain old sheetrock. Possibly a slightly better grade than standard builders grade, but sheetrock none the less. And I can verify that. I'm refinishing mine. It was under two feet of water for 24/36 hours and I've stripped out the interior, sanding and repriming it; then will paint and seal it before building new shelves for it. The only difference I can see is that this one ( a 45 gun Stackon) has full 3/4 inch sheets used to line it. Before it's all over I may wish I'd just replaced the safe. But if it doesn't satisfy me, at least I'll have a dandy ammo box.
  7. Very nice looking EBR. I wish mine looked that good. Maybe someday...
  8. Not yet, I hope to get out this weekend to see it. I confess, at my age, I still enjoy a good sifi flick. I hope this is one of them.
  9. Only a little?

Once again..Too many toys to choose from. Too little money.
  11. Headed up this morning!
  12. Found a used g30 last year. Love it. Your wife probably will too.
  13. Sweet find. I sold one several years ago and have regretted it ever since.
  14. If you didn't like this one...just wait for the sequel.
  15. War of the Worlds--Tom Cruise
  16. Congratulations on the house. I hope all goes really well for you.
  17. Under the circumstances outlined by the OP, I'd agree completely with you. But could there be more to this story? Is it true? Seems like the sort of thing that the left would jump all over and use to the absolute limit. Just saying..
  18. As others here, have used umc for years without problems. But I did notice the shorter length when I used some in my CZ Rami 2075. And I did have feed issues with it. Rounds were all over the place--misfeeds and double feeds. Changed ammo and no more problems. But I have since used that same box in an xd9 without incident. I wouldn't distrust it for all use, just found problems that day with that particular gun.
  19. Eve so, it's still a good job. Most of us fear messing up the looks of a gun. You went for it and made the changes yourself. And they turned out right.

    SD 40

Me, too. I've got a Sigma 40 that John Wall at Eastside Gun worked on and it's pretty good. Has a smoother, lighter trigger and feels very much like my Glock 22 to me. But even so, an upgrade to the Sigma platform is a good thing.
  21. Sorry I'm a little late with this comment, but enjoy the warthog. I have a buddy with one and it's great. But as Garufa suggested...check out the CZ Rami 2075. I traded for a used one and it's a great little pistola. Shoots almost as well as my Glock 30. Just had to get a plastic gun reference in.

    Sig owners?

Currently have a 229. Great gun, accurate, reliable, and as mav said...a boat anchor. Regret selling a bi-tone 220, one of the best 45 pistols I've ever owned. Considering a 239.
  23. You know, on the surface, that's a scary thought...But after due reflection, it's just downright frightening.
  24. Eric, I will add Matt to my prayer list. God Bless.
  25. Tremors, one of the funniest movies of the genre. Let's go watch it again.
