  1. Any closer to actual production? Or decisions on caliber? I'd be interested as well.
  2. Sweeet!!!
  3. Congrats! I have a TRP and a Loaded Operator, both great. Would someday like to add the V10 to the family.

    S&W 686 SSR

It's worse than I thought!!! I was in Eastside today and looked at Rabbi's 686 SSR--it feels better than it looks!! Almost makes me want to trade my Model 66 in on it.
  5. Please keep us posted on the project. I've got a 30 with scratches and wear marks that I had considered refinishing. This looks interesting.
  6. Although we've never met, I'd say you are most definitely a fine example of a "Southern Gentleman"...and I take that from your reputation and your posts. But...we do seem to agree on a lot of things and your perspective matches mine somewhat. So therefore, if we share any resembleance at all..you most certainly are a crumudgeon, if not a curious old relic of days and times gone bye. Just like me!!
  7. Thanks, Lester. I just got off the Kahr site and read the info you posted. Paraphrasing, I'd say the only diff between the two is a miniscule size diff and a weight diff from the stainless frame. Still a really good gun,but as you imply, the pm9 series is probably the better pocket gun. Still the k in a iwb or a small belt slide is comfortable for me. Anyway, thanks again.
  8. I know...multiple posts on the same topic. But that's one beautiful springer! kruncknick knows how to pick'em!
  9. Excellent choice! Love mine, but it's still not broken in well.Tight as a....well, you supply your own metaphor here. But it's a great example of the 1911.
  10. Absolutely Great!!!
  11. I haven't checked the Kahr site for dimensions, but the K series seem to have a longer grip and have, I believe, a 6/7 round mag. I know I have trouble with the 7th round as the mag length would seem to hold more but comfortably holds six and functions well with six. It is quite comfortable to shoot and as accurate as I can be with it. Meaning it shoots better than I do. All in all, I like it, but would like to try the polymer series as well.
  12. I'm about to go off on a slight tangent here, so I got this Kahr K9 stainless a while back. Love the trigger on it. I think it's on a par with the SR9c, maybe even a little better...or softer anyway. But haven't had much range time with it yet, so how do you Kahr guys compare the PM9 to it? I'd welcome any comments. Thanks.
  13. Great! Another 1911 to drool over! I never thought I'd get addicted to them, but it's happened. I guess all these good reports will have me looking again. Congrats on a great buy.

    S&W 686 SSR

Great looking piece! I'm envious. Seems like I want them all these days.
  15. Great job. You reminded me I need to do someting similar.
  16. Congrats, Johnny. God Bless.
  17. Congratulations, Pop! Just wait til' they're all up and running around, it'll be great fun. I still fondly remember being attacked by seven Husky puppies every time I came thru the door. It was awesome.
  18. If you have access to Sam's, check out the Vizio line. Good quality and the LCD priciing is dropping rapidly as the LED and 3D technology cones in.
  19. although I didn't take advantage of the posting offer this weekend; I really appreciate the event. David, this was a great thing for you to do for the forun members. Many thanks for it. I hope to be better prepared should you offer this again.
  20. Same here. Bought a PT1911 from a tgo'er in Murfreesboro, and it's been really good. But I didn't sell it when I got my TRP. I just hate to part with a good weapon when I get it.
  21. Had trouble with them as well...tried to order a knife for my brotheri-n-law and ran into the same issue--Can't ship into TN. And don't even get me started on the "free shipping" issue. I pretty much gave up on SG several years ago, and was really surprised when I got a new catalog the other day.
  22. I've not heard anything like this before, so I'm very interested as well. I have some inlaws with life memberships; so I'll be checking in with them to find out. Thanks, David for posting your question. This could be a great deal for a lot of us who would like to become life members.

Yeah, I like the Jericho as well. Bought the 941 kit some years back and really liked it. But it has become somewhat of a safe queen of late.
  24. Lately, my Mod 66 S&W, glock 30, and my k22 Masterpeice in 22mag.
  25. For whatever reason, Bud Adams seems solidy entrenched behind VY. Vince being Bud's hand-picked QB says quite a bit about the possible future of Fisher as head coach. Adams has fallen on the VY side of pretty much everything that has happened to bring questions about the maturity and ability of Young. Fisher pointed out tonight that he has one year remaining on his contract and hopes to finish his career here. But, and these are my thoughts, not Fisher's, Bud Adams is very fond of Young and Jeff Fisher has not been a great advocate of Young, especially since being told that Young was THE choice for his (Adams') team right at draft time these many years ago.
