I have a local dealer want to trade with me out an older Smith. He offered me a choice of either the FN or the HK you mention and pictured above. Of the 2, I would have to take the HK. I'm renowned for not have a good "trigger sense" but the difference on these was very noticable, even to me. The HK not only felt good in my hand, the trigger was similar to my Caniks. so that would rule out the FN for me. I own an older FN I got from a member in a trade, but it has a much better trigger, to me, than the new Ledge model. I did not trade on either of them though. I felt I was getting a very bad deal for my pistol on either.

Prayers from a poor sinner that you be healed.

Nice Pistol. Can't buy, but I do like it. And that background sure resembles my "office/hideout."
-
You do that too!?!? LOL!

Looks great, I think. Have you plans to do the forend like the rear? Yeah, I'm a nit-picker. lol It would truly look fantastic.
-
Would have to dig it out, but as I remember...no. Just super tight clearances, and the powder residue gums it quickly.

Yep your 2 cents vs my 2 cents. I disagree with you as well. A timed auction is an opportunity to bid within the stated time frame. If I wish to bid an amount for that item, I can do so. Bid high from the beginning if you think it will work. Or don't bid. We each have an equal opportunity to place a bid we think is appropriate on that item. The time of placement is the key. Early or late. But bid in good faith. If I bid and have a high bid at the stated end time...I should win. Adding 15 minutes after that end is not the way I play the game. As for sniping, the same thing applies. You or I have the opportunity to bid. High bids are shown, so bid higher if you want it. Waiting until the end to bid is not a crime. You, or I, can see the highest bid and decide whether or not to go further. I doubt you will agree, but's my 2 cents on the subject. And for what it's worth. I have been sniped in bidding. And I have been the sniper as well.

Well...being a ch...er...patient man myself. I agree with you. And if you beleive what I just typed...well I have some property to sell you on the desert riverbanks.

I do similar maintenance on it ever time it's shot. It seems to drag a bit at the back of the cyclinder more than anywhere else. But as long as I keep it clean...all is good.

Lost a few on GB as well. I really, really hate that dang 15 minute rule of theirs! I know it's to "give everybody a fair chance." Bull! Just to aid the site and get higher sale prices.

Yep, me too! Been a fan of the 22Magnum for a bunch of years. lol! Started buying the ammo more frequently when the PMR 30 came out. Another safe queen for the most part, but fun range gun. I'd like to use it on the crows around here, but neighbors and Metro PD might frown on it. Actually since my Dad showed up with a S&W one weekend. He'd gotten it in a trade at the local swap meet area in Algood(remember those days?) Said he just wanted to sell it to make a few bucks. When I expressed interest, he tried to give it to me. I had to refuse. It was during his battle with lung cance and he was scrounging every penny he could. I waited a week and called up. Told him my father-in-law wanted to buy. He set a price and I paid on the next trip up. I'm sure he knew what was going on, but both of us too stubborn for our own good. Rather nice pistol. A bit fussy about being kept clean though. Cyclinder tends to drag after about a dozen rounds. Sent it to Smith with not much positive result. Still does it. Probably one of the last I would ever sell.

This is a rather stupid observation, but from the picks, that bumper sure looks like a Ford F150. But I guess a couple hits like you gave it will change the looks of about anything. As with others. so glad you are safe and back. And a big God Bless for your adoptions. You are a good man.

Article reads like this will be a good buy. Had I waited one week, I'd be after this one! I just received the Barkeep and Magnum cyclinder I ordered for it, For what I have in it, the Barkeep seems like it will be good, but I sure would like the double action of the Diamonback instead.

So you thought the lines a little rehearsed as well? Not that I disagreed with anything that was said, but there was that slick, polished prhasing at times; then the aw shucks kid would come thru. But seemed to be a well done interview. I think it cemented his place in the story as a good kid who just had to protect himself in a bad situation. I actually don't know how he held off empting the mag in those three. Doubt that I would or could have stopped shooting until then. Very glad it's over...for now at least. However, I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell the kid will ever live a quiet, normal life like he says he wants.

You got me at 'Cuda! Liked the show, but not enough time on that gorgeous car.

Hey...the Rabbi did sell me a very nice Taurus 1911 in 38 super that would have gone well with magic's hipower! Glossy bue/black and all the controls were gold colored. I walked in one day and he told me that he'd been saving it just for me. LOL! Said it was something he thought would accesorize well with my other Taurus pistols.

Very few things that come from the secondary market that I didn't buy here. A few referrals from people or a lead I'd hear of, even an offer from friends and family. Bought several(maybe more than several...lol) while I was a route salesman. After a couple of Armslist and the other one (name escapes me now) that was available; I have pretty much made it a rule to only buy from TGO...for all the reasons already listed above. Better people. Safer. Like minded people. Go on and on, but just like dealing within a community that I get a good feeling from. Only had one actual BAD buy/experience here and that was very early on. Have had several "no-shows" and a few that were obviously just trolling for one reason or another, but we can usually spot them. Did have one seller that ran me around for a couple of weeks and he was a real pain in the ass. But that is rare. AND those that I suspect were an "entrapment" sort. Out of state, underage, "might not pass a background check. Just to see if I would not follow the legalaties of selling face to face sans FFl.

Christine? That would make me think about it. LOL! Excellent book and darn good movie as well. I built a lot of models in my early teens, then discovered I wasn't really good at it. That began my fondness for diecast pieces. Never really cared for the Hot Wheels, etc sizes. I liked the detail on the 1/18 scale pieces. Back then the price was around 15 bucks. As the years went on, the quality of these metal diecast got a great deal better! So did the prices. 75-100 became the norm. Then the "limiteds" and specials for groups/clubs/events came into the picture. Not unusual to see 150+ on some. That was 10+ years ago. There are some really awesome diecast replicas on the market for those of us with little ability and paticence. But some unbelievealy high prices as well. Corvettes and the 60s/70s muscle cares were my favorites. Got a bunch on disply in our den. A BUNCH more still in boxes in the attic. Got some really nice pieces, if I say so myself. Need to have a big sale.

Sitting here going thru the ton of daily email crap I get every day, and saw the news on the 10mm M&P. I have to admit it is interesting. Still not sure I want to get into another hard hitting caliber at this stage of my life...blame goes to arthritic hands; but this and the Rock Island 10mm sure do get tempting. However, just about anything tempts me when it comes to firearms. Why couldn't I just win a great bunch of money and just buy them all?
-
Yeah, those "safe Queens" do make life interesting. lol! I sold a 624 last year. I really hated to, but pretty looks just weren't enough. I found it difficult to absorb the ammo cost of the 44 mag vs the 44 special. And availability entered the picture as well.

Too much time...and money on his hands!

With the reputation I have in my family...I doubt anyone would even give her a second look!

Not qite what the OP suggested that he wanted, but a favorite of mine is the Model 19. S&W Perfection! But then there's a lot to be said for the 686 too!

Hey...give him a break! My oldest friend, best man at my wedding, and general pain in the butt...was a shyster of a personal injury sort...and a pure, dyed in the wool, flaming liberal dem! But a nice guy and I miss him.

Anyone doing anything for the inflation that is coming?
hipower replied to 45guy's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Funny? Yes. Too far off? Nope. I buy a lot of meats from Sam's Club. ( I try to keep ourselves a fair supply of both, and buy for another family member. Freeze what I can, but running out of freezer space. Have given thought to another freezer lately.) But to get back on point, the overall changes seems to be on the order of 20-30% in the chicken and beef products. With farms on the decline for years, chicken and beef production has sufferred. I don't see it improving very quickly.
