Yes, Interesting is a good choice of words here. We've been watching the market pricing in our area lately. Looks great until we factor in the cost of moving and buying someplace else. Payments would be just short of astronomical for us now. But property taxes in Metro Nashville are almost as bad. So watching the situation. Living on social security and our retirement funds doesn't really allow for much hope of a location change. Although a family member who is a realtor has been watching for a place for us. She has ran across a couple of nice, surprisingly low priced homes recently. They are out there. Just have to be willing to search and be patient. And be ready to move FAST if it appears. She found us one in our desired location. It sold before we could even get a call in on it.

Plus 1 for the Louisville Show. Always meant to go, but just never got around to it. Now the drive and all the walking would about kill me. But have been told by attendees that it's one of the better shows in the South. YMMV It would bother me not to be able to buy/sell there not being a KY resident. So that sorta takes the rush to go away.

Was in Bellshire talking with Phil yesterday and saw the poster for next weekend. Considering going. Any comments from the gallery? Never been to one there. Should I? Thought about walking around a couple and see if I could move them.

Got one of the later models(Guess I should check the production date.). It came to me from my late brother-in-law just before he passed. Had it with a Springer EMP4. Wanted to sell as a package deal. Didn't really want the R51, but he need the money, so I bought them both. Put them both in the safe and haven't touched since. Really should take them out and test them. Not really concerned by the EMP4, but worry about the R51. After all the horror stories about them, I had pretty much decided it would be a safe queen forever. Now, seeing all these comments, I'm tempted to try. It just feels good, and it is a good looking pistol. Maybe I will. Or not.

Yeah...it was sort of purty. In a weird way. LOL. Thay actually didn't look too bad.

Got a mid 70s(?) that shoots great. Don't think you'd go wrong with choosing one.

AGREED! I like to take it out for new shooters. Especially the cocky ones. I'll load it up for them with 158 grain wadcutters and stand back. When they complain...I say let me try it. That's when I drop in the light 38 special and shoot. Turn back and say it seem ok to me.

Short and not so sweet story. First one was a j-frame Smith from my Dad. Bought an HK4. Dumped it and bought a Browning BDA 380. Used it for years. Later tried many smaller semi autos that I didn't keep. Lorcins, Khars( sorry Bill!) Tried a 4'' K-frame for a while. But it was too big for me. Went back to Smith snubbies. Had 637 and the like for a time. Carried a Model 19 snub for a while. Found the Springfield Compact 9 and was in love! Carried it mostly until I discovered the Shield. Been there ever since. There have been some dalliances with G26/27, G43x, Hellcat, and a 365XL. Still have the Sig 365, but I always come back to the Shield. I think we're mated for life.

I actually think it's a still from a late 40s early 50s movie. I have some vague remembrance of seeing this before.
