Kitchen Knife Block Sets - Opinions/suggestions wanted.
hipower replied to tacops's topic in General Chat
Tell my wife that. It might be dangerous to your health. According to her...anything and everything but gold rim dishware goes in the dishwasher. But it is good to see someone else say this. I'll show the thread to her. -
Had both the lever Daisy models back in dawn of my youth...but never the pump. Always wanted one. Just never seemed to find one.

Would you be interested in selling the Galco OWB holster seperately? If so, how much?

LOL! The 590 is a good choice. I've had one for years. Just fire up that sweet new ride and have a fun road trip. You could stop at Outdoor World, just outside of Cookeville, on the way back. Sometimes find some hidden jems in there. -

Ditto! This is a jewel! -
Well, I don't know either. LOL! But after the thread on carry criteria, I started looking at my 365XL and the possibility of doing the Macro Grip exchange. I like the idea, and it seems easily done. But the drawback is the necessity to buy the 60 buck 17 round mags to fit it. With grip purchase and several mags, (actually 3 minimum for me) it seems like just buying the 365XL Macro complete is about a better way to go. And that's not in the picture for me at the moment. Optics ready. Better mag capacity. Almost 1911 grip angle. A rail for hanging thingies. Yeah, seems like a winner to me. Makes me regret buying that Girsan P35 Thursday.

I like the way you said this. All the items mentioned before are important...but I like the way Smith ranked them. I find that size and weight for carry tend to be my biggest criteria. I have guns I like, and guns I carry. Larger frames tend to not carry well for me. I know it's primarily attributed to my waistline and weight, but anything larger than a G19 just doesn't get taken out by me. Have been a hardcore Shield guy for years, and have gone thru the iterations of them. My current favorite is a Performance Center 2.0. Though I have a Plus Model with the 4" barrel, I don't find it working for me. Capacity enters into it as well. I've had several pistols with capacities of 5-9 rounds, and seem to feel that's not enough. So the 13 round Shield Plus and Performance Center model work for me...for now. That might change. Got a P365XL earlier this year and like the feel of it. I haven't shot it yet. Will someday, I swear. Also don't have a carry system for it yet. I favor OWB, and I don't like Kydex. That makes the choices a bit more expensive, and I'm watching pennies at this time. So, in a nutshell...for me, I'd say #1 Size/Weight #2 Comfort in carry #3 Capacity # 4 Caliber Although caliber is becoming more of a concern as I get older. Hands don't like 45ACP in these small frames.

Kitchen Knife Block Sets - Opinions/suggestions wanted.

Don't know how long there have been Rada Knives in my family. Granny, Mother, and now us. We have had them given to us. Bought at Flea Markets, and even some from a Mennonite group. It's always been in small numbers...singles, 2 and 3s. Never a large set. I've always liked them. Not a super sharp knife, but cuts all I need. My wife, bless her, cannot have a sharp knife around. She will cut herself every time. But back to the Rada knives. As I said, I like them, especially the paring knife. I'll use it for about everything. sort of a multi-purpose knife. However, the last few years, they have had a tendancy to discolor badly on the blades. Don't know why. Different materials, reactions to dishwashers and detergents? Have any of you experienced this? -
Sweet gun at a great price!!

Kitchen Knife Block Sets - Opinions/suggestions wanted.

I'm with Chucktshoes...I dislike serrated knives...intenesly. As to a kitchen knife set...I'd love to own a decent one. My wife, without my knowing, put our set in the last yard sale. I was very much not happy about it. Don't worry, she says. I got us some good knives. It was a cheap set with colored plastic handles. Not a good bread knife or steak knives in the set. I'm looking for something now. Won't be an expensive set, not enough life nor use left for that. -
Gorgeous! So sad to be cash strapped! I'd love to own this one!
-
Well spoken sir. However...I am offended by your misspelling of "Waste."
-
Well, I did find it mildly humorous. Was it intended to be offensive? I don't know.As far as Black Class Knives...just a name as far as I'm concerned. What about the Merecedes Black? Is that racist or offensive?

Again, thanks to you for this kindness. If it's still available, I could use the FREE P365 IWB Holster. I just never got around to buyin a holster for mine. Actually, I still have it unfired in the safe. lol. Just haven't been able to get out much this year to shoot. I'll send you a PM to discuss meeting. Thank you, Sir.

Thanks, Sleep profit. I appreciate the comments. Flashy? Yes, it is. I'd have to go with the Black/Gold option. But I understand there's an all black available as well. But even so, it's not as flashy as my dearly departed Taurus "Pimp Gun." A 1911 in high gloss black and all polished gold trigger, hammer, and slide release. It was awesomely beautiful. Wish I still had it. LOL.

Thanks. Just ordered 5 for backyard fun. Also got some extra CO2 cartridges and BBs while I was at it. Got it all for half price. Good deal.
-
Have you done an online search? I found one a couple years ago that way. Also, I bought a Gen 3 with and Advantage Arms 22 kit on one. Got it at a great price. So I had the lower and a 22 kit. Got a Pelican case that I put the complete pistol and the 22 kit in, so I have the best of both ready to go in one box.

for-sale 9mm Pistols for sale in Thompsons Station
hipower replied to srb0509's topic in Firearms Classifieds
Agreed! Wish I could afford it right now. I foolishly sold one I had a couple years ago. Not my brightest moment. -
Yes. And gotten higher priced as well. One of the few smart things I did was to buy all I could afford when I found them. And thankfully the mags are almost universally interchageable between the models. Sort of like Glock mags. All my mags have been OE but for a mistake I made back in the summer. I found an ad for Canik mags dirt cheap...like sub 20 bucks. Ordered a bunch. But didn't investigate the seller beforehand. Seller had bad ratings and seemed rather shady in his actions. I got scared and started overloading his email with qestions about when I'd get the mags or should I just ask for a refund. Well, I actually got 8 mags finally. But all were ProMag and not Canik manufacture. There were some who got nothing I'm told. If I can find the address, I'll post it as a warning. Since I had had little luck and love for ProMag...I tested them quickly. They seemed to function ok. Sometimes requiring a hard slap to lock in. Some didn't drop freely, almost had to pull them out. But I got 4 out of the bunch I'll trust as a last resort. But even these I really will only use for range shooting.
-
I want a Rival. But will have to wait on one. It's supposed to be superior to other models. What do you think?
-
Well...I'm on record here with my opinion of Canik and all the models therein. LOL. Been a big fan since I first bought one for sub 250 from a little distriutor just because of the price. As has been said, Great pistols. Fantastic triggers. Extremely easy to shoot and look good doing it. In the last 16-18 monts, more and more people are discovering the Canik and its quality. That's why the prices have been steadily rising. Try finding one of the early models...the T100 series. Sellers couldn't give them away. l missed out on those, but got in on the origional TP9. It shoots as well as the latest models. Few people will ever regret buying a Canik pistol, I haven't Won't tell you how many I have now. It's embarassing. Just buy it and love it. "Nuff said.

i may be the only person here who ever got something good from CTD. Granted it's been a long time ago...6/7+ years I think. Ordered some Smith 59 mags from them. Actually got them. But haven't ordered since. They have changed way to much for me to try again.

Doesn't really grab me. As much as I liked Ray Liotta, I'll pass on this one.
