I guess I'm blessed on the dryer venting. It has a hole cut into the wall and vents directly outside. I do have to clean and duct tape the vent every year, but easy to do.

Lots of new pistols recently. Being a longtime RIA fan; I am, like MacGyver, very much interested in seeing and shooting one. Not outrageously priced, but at hovering around 1K, it will not be a likely addition anytime soon for me. Also like the fact that it's made in the continental USA and not an import; but that's not a buying issue for most of us. I see the Canik Rival S being a competitor for this RIA. Sounds like booth are going to be very popular with range and competition shooters. Simply because I'm so vested in the Canik line, I would probably go for the Rival S first. But if money were no object...The RIA 5.0 would go into the number one position for me. Either would be an awesome addition to any shooter's safe though.

Very much appreciate your comments on the FN HiPower. I'm really wanting the Springfield version, the SA35, at this point; but being the person that I am...I wouldn't rule out trying to acquire the FN as well. Funds a little tight at the moment, but I did foolishly buy the Girsan version last week. I haven't gotten the opportunity to fire it yet, but hope to very soon. I'll pass along my impressions when I do. BTW, I got the FDE model as well. Purchased from CDNN. Then they serve up the really nice looking version with better sights and VZ grips! Always something better AFTER you make a buy!

Then buy it!!! LOL! Seriously, that's a great price for a peach of a carry pistol. If my arthritic hands could handle the 45...I'd have already bought this! And speaking of buying...let me tell you from multiple experiences with tercel89; you won't find a better man to deal with...with the possible exception of me! Really, I've made several purchases from him over our years here and always been extremely happy with them. And you'll get to meet of of the most upstanding members of this group when you do.

Not that I work at anything like you, but I understand that comment. Especially the part of life getting busier and more complicated and oftimes frustrating.

True. That's why with my limited abilities, I really wouldn't change this one over(myself). But do admit to a flattop version without the sight post being more favorable to me.

Late night bump for a good package deal.

Yeah...and so am I! LOL!!

Not a bad number. LOL. Back in the early days of GT selling, I was able to grab just about any one I wanted. More recently, I'm like Erik88. I can't snag one for spit! But if I could get GT to post his wares later in the evenings... Oh, BTW Smith, I got 6..wait...that's not right. It's more like 9. But I did buy a couple as gifts.

Well. A straight up honest answer! Good for you!

Or just be old school and leave it the way it is. I think I would.

Well, here it is 1:14 AM on Christmas Eve morning and my wife just came into my little hideout to check on me. She does that often these days. Why am I up so late? What am I doing? Does your wife, or yourself for that matter, think you spend too much time here/online? Just curious. My answer is Yes. I probably do. However, in my defense, we are both retired, not real active in anything, and don't have to get up early. I've sort of given over the TV remote to my wife since she retired. I'd say that 95% of the time, we watch whatever she chooses. Sometimes I agre with it. Sometimes not. But since she absolutely loves the Lifetime Movie Networks, sometimes I just have to get away and do my own thing, as it were. I can only take so much of them. I do like some of them, really, but not all the time. Not one after another. This sort of infringes on my time to watch my hero...Arnold, shoot guns and blow up things. At least that's what wifey says I watch all the time. Might be a little truth to that, as between my collection of movies and on demand availability, I can pull up everything from Pumping Iron to Terminator Genysis. So this is my playspace. My point of contact with the outside world. Isn't that sad? But the reality is that my own personal abilities to get out and roam about, doing Lord knows what; is limited by these things... 1) funds and 2) mobility. And the timeframe that I do this in is pretty much dictated by having what few outside activities we have are involed in, is during the mid-day to evening hours. So I can usually be found here with a book in hands, an unhealthy snack and a coke one the desk. I know I spend too much time here because I typically have swollen ankles and calfs when I leave. Not really a great scenerio for a 71 year old fat man. So now that I've bared my soul, what's your answer? Do you spend too much time here? Or does your wife/significant other think so? Yep, lame topic. but I'm up, not sleepy, and bored.

Well, I just now looked at the Poll results. We sure are a strange bunch. 90% of us think wild, gun blazing violence is suitable to be called a Christmas movie. I feel right at home with that. LOL! Actually, we all know there are a multitude of reasons for and against this choice. Music. Timing of release. Good actors. Good effects. Some comedic elements, and some really memorable actors and lines. I did vote yes...for the reasons above. It's a decent movie with an almost original idea, and it's entertaining. The actors are good. One of the better Bruce Willis movies. As for me though, I'm a big fan of the late Alan Rickman. His performance was just amazing! Loved everything I've seen him in. So that's my longwinded reasoning for voting Yes.

I'll have you know I resemble that remark! Literally! Have Grinch ties (4), Grinch sweatshirt, tee, and big Grinch head mask! I actually identify with that poor misunderstood critter. Ok...I like the Grinch. Maybe too much. Sort of had that rep for a few years. But I just watched my favorite Grinch moive. The Jim Carey version. The man is total jerk, but he is a very talented actor.

So sad. Yet you cannot make them see the lack of logic in their thinking. Told this tale before but here it is again. A younger married lady up the street called one night asking me to come look around her house. She thought someone was looking in the windows and try to get inside. Being an all American, red-blooded male...I go to check it out. It's a Friday night about 10PM and her husband is out of town. I trot up the street(I was younger then and could do that.). Flashlight in one hand. Something else in the other. I walk around the house, look in the yard, and around their tool shed. Find nothing. I call her from the front yard and she comes out. Thanks me and hugs me for coming up. All is good. Then she saw the 45 I'd stuck in my belt. Starts yelling about guns. Didn't know I had one. Why did I have one? Didn't think I was that sort of person. That last line was the exact words she used. It scared her to think there was one nearby. All the normal reactions of a very liberal anti gunner. I ask her what she thought I'd do coming out at night checking around the house for her. Don't really remember much of what she said after that. All I cans say is that's been at least 15 years ago, and she and her husband are still rather cold towards me. I guess she/they think a long rational conversation with an intruder is the answer. Found out later that the young lady is a member of the Nashville Chapter of Moms Against Guns. Well...I don't think their soultion is the right answer. So not invited to any of their events anymore. I'm just heartbroken over it.

Have always preferred leather...getcher minds outta tha gutter...but can say I see a kydex or 2 in my holster collection. Trying one out now. An OWB model for a Shield. Pehaps just my shape, or lack of one, but not finding it very comfy. Plus, it really seems too wide for my taste. Prints more than I like.

Wonder if he still has a job there?

Wifey and I did 3 of the cold weather games during the ONE good season the Titans had. Father in law had a limo drive us in for the Cowboys game and we were so bundled up that it was really hard to get in and out of the limo. Had so many layers on that my already wide butt almost couldn't get into the seat. I think I spent most of the game running for the hot chocolate we drank all night. It was still brutal.

I vaguely heard the brown out mentioned last night and really didn't think much about it this morning around 10:30 or so when our power went down. I was on the phone so I really didn't time it, but power came back up as I was still talking. So I guess we were a part of it here in East Nashville/Inglewood area.

Thank you. And a very Merry Christmas wish for you and your family as well!
