  1. A year ago, about that anyway, I had a5 minute or so conversation with of the solicitors. He was a fairly nice guy. Listened to all I told him about the LaPierre issues. He very politely asked if I'd reconsider my stance and donate to become a Benefactor Member. I told him no. I would not donate as long as Wayne and his cronies were running the show. After a brief silence...he actually told me he understood and agreed with my comments. I hope he wasn't fired over that.
  2. Old enough to know better! Or, conversely...old enough to not give a s***!
  3. Ah com'n now! That was a great one! I thought it terribly funny! My wife however...did not have a sense of humor. Thought it in really poor taste. I just told her "It's how we roll on TGO!"
  4. A great many of us here understand and agree with your decisions and how you manage your life with your companion...the furry one, not your lady. lol. Although sometimes their are similarities in both situations. In either case, many of us, myself included will prioritize our daily lives for them. Our last, Molly, was my constant companion throughout my cancer issues and recovery. When her health issues cropped up, we took as good of care with her as with ourselves.
  5. Yes it does. But weren't there some exciting and interesting threads and posts in those days? Some of the biggest laughs I had came from them. Wish I could remember some of them. Sadly, those were the days I was on some really nasty chemo drugs and my recolections are spotty from them. The Valdemort era was wonderful though!
  6. One is none...two is one...Therefore you only have one and can buy another and have two.
  7. Thank you, sir. Been called a lot of things recently, but not "established". Old Fart most often, and "he who walks like drunken sailor" more recently. I'll text tomorrow, at a reasonable hour. I have an early morning doc visit, and late afternoon event scheduled.
  8. Makes me think of my Dad. Why? It just does.
  9. If you wish to pass it along, I would gladly take it. And just for the reason you would like. I have a few young friends that would benefit from this. Sadly, they are not in my neighborhood. I would need to go outside Nashville, to the Cookeville area where some of my young 2nd and 3rd cousins live. As you say, a good way to introduce them to shooting. Thanks for offering this. Beautiful Pup!
  10. Well...that certainly was interesting.
  11. So brilliant an analysis. Really. I wish I could have said it this well.
  12. Problems are plentyful and hard to define at times. Solutions are easily found...especially by government; they're just not easily put into place. Please take this as the scarcasm it is intended to be. Nothing in life is easy...except dying.
  13. WAG. Could the 629 be a Lew Horton? I tried to find one back in the days of Rabbi and Eastside. It sounds vaguely like what I remember of it, especially the 3" barrel.
  14. Wonder if he meant car caught up in? Possibly referring to the EV vs gas push? Just what I took it to be. Maybe wrong. Just a WAG on my part.
  15. Wifey and I were talking a few nights ago about Biden and obsession with the AR/Assault Rifle. My thought and response was this...Why does he want them gone? So the Chinese forces won't have a population that can defend themselves. That's what he's being paid to do. JMO I told her to think about the line attributed to the Japanese as to why they didn't want a land assault on the US mainland...becasue there would be aman with a gun behind every rock and tree. Biden and his controllers are trying to make that impossible with all these past and proposed firearms laws.
  16. Sorta looks like me in the 70s! Embroadied shirts and jeans were stylish then! Hair and frizzy beard abougt right, but never wore a doily on my head.
  17. I must be having vision problems! How did I miss this!??! Backup buyer position please.

    Next Glock?

Aside from the "want" factor; I think these might be an option for people like my wife. Those with small or weak hands and wrist issues. I've tried several revolvers and now on semi-autos as a best choice for her. Long trigger pulls and weight are also issues this Glock could avoid. I'd have it loaded and charged, safety off, if it had one. This way it's action ready. As I tell her, this would be, once again...my opinion, good for her. If and when it's necessary, pick it and ready to go. Finger off the trigger( and she does that well) until it's mandated you have to shoot. I tell her fire until 1 situation is over, and/or 2 until the gun is empty. I also have placed lasers on all that I've gotten for her. Just watch the dot and pull. As usual, these are just my opinions.

    Next Glock?

    Sadly, I've never kept a G17. But have a G23 and a G34. Does that count?
  20. I have very mixed feelings on "Red Flag" laws. Any law that gives police or federal agents the ability to walk into your home...take your property, and/or arrest you is extremely unsettling to me. As has been covered here and in other forums and media, I think the practice is full of misuse and prone to personal injury on both sides of the involved parties. In reality, as bersayguy mentioned, gives virtually anyone with a grudge against you the ability to cause you untold grief and potentially ruin your life forever. There needs to be a better criteria for it's use and existance than we see in place now. Mabe having it be linked to civil court proceding or an actual crime? Medical personnel with proper credentials and proof of a threat? I just don't think the current law is acceptable. And...of course the threat is being used once again by certain groups and politicians to further more and broader gun control. JMO
  21. Hope it gets some positive results for you. As I said earlier, scraping the wheels at a recycling center is a way to go; but not knowing current pricing...it could be a bust. Check for a recycling center and call for current prices on aluminium. There were "grades" when I was doing it. Building materials, some aluminum wiring, radiator cores, and 2 grades on wheels. Sorry I dont remember more, but my heyday in selling damaged wheels was 15 years ago. I did make a few dollars at it, but could be time consuming. Wheels had to be clean. No wheel weights nor excessive dirt and especially no mounted tires. If I remember correctly, around 30 cents per pound back then. I think I got 40 when there was a "shortage." Aluminium has been a very much demanded product for reuse at different times. I just happened to be in a position then to take advantage of it. Good luck with it.
  22. That's great!!
  23. Hope is what gives us the strength to go on. I pray for it daily. Hope and strength to walk thru this garden we have inherited. I come across as a dark and pessimistic person most times. I don't deny that. Sadly it's a part of my nature. I do work to change it and myself; but it is a daily challenge for me. But I still am able to see the good in people and this life. I just pray for more good, and less evil.
  24. That's a good assessment. Says more than I could cover. I guess I got caught up in looking for answers as well. As you say...broken. Terribly so. Must be to do this. My wife and I were talking about it last evening. Her take is just pure evil got into this young woman and took over. She thinks a Devine intervention is the only hope for this country now. I will not argue that thought. She may be right. I do know it's coming...just not when.
  25. Thank you, trying. Lol! Can't sleep. Every movement sets it off. Can't really pinpoint a specific thing I've done to make this happen. Doc told me this afternoon that at first he thought I might have torn some cartilage in my shoulder. Swelling had gone down enough for a good, thorough, and painful exam today. Without an MRI, really can't tell, but he thinks it's not. Whatever, it's really putting a stop to some projects for a while. GLWS
