  1. In a word....NO.
  2. Rails or no rail. Really don't bother me. If it shoots...I like it!
  3. Not sure anything is here.
  4. My friend, if you could get a good answer, I'd be surprised. To me, the gist of all the anti arguments boil down to the "I don't like guns. So you can't have any." All sorts of add-ons to that, but that's my take on the whole thing. A bit off-track, maybe, but my wife and I were watching the 6 PM, Channel 5 News as Lee's Red Flag was being discussed. She still doesn't seem to understand why I'm so vehemently opposed to it. Summed it up this way. Liberal, MoM's Demand Action, nerighbor calls and says "My neighbor has a gun. I'm scared. He shouldn't have it." Police come and take gun(s) without any notice. I can't stop it. Why should neighbor be able to do this?
  5. That 24 looks fantastic! The others aren't too bad either! LOL
  6. Hard to tell with the grainy photo, but is that Mick Rooney with the Thompson?
  7. Well, we just finished binging the Anson Mount saga of Hell on Wheels. I think this is the 4th time for me. The wife...???? Many I know. Says Anson has great eyes. She used to say that about me! Oh well, he is good-looking guy. Anyway, this time around I was watching Cullen's pistols and his gun handling. I loved the rifles too, but those pistols were awesome. Two really caught my eye this time around...the Colt 1860 Army, and the Remington 1858 New Army. The Remington especially intrigued me a bit more. Why? Not sure, it just did. Watching the gunfighting and the cyclinder swapping out for reloads got me to wondering about the idea of owning one. Just for S****& Grins, of course. But wouldn't it be a blast on a range! So what would be your opinion? Pros and Cons of buying one. Won't be real soon, but it has me thinking about it. I'd appreciate anything you might tell me about either one actually. Thanks.
  8. We compromised on 64. LOL. She's just fine in jammies and a throw at this temp. I, on the other hand, crawl under a flannel sheet, a quilt from my Granny, and a cheap throw to keep comfy. I get cold these days. Just the reverse of when we first got together.
  9. Josey Wales, I believe.
  10. Wish I'd kept the 336 I got from my b-i-l. Bought it on a whim when he needed some cash. Had been worked over pretty well witha new bead sight, barrel shortened to minimum, and large loop. It looked really sharp! Alas, he wanted it back afterwards. Wife got in the middle and said it's not worth a fuss. So it went back to Tad.
  11. Your wook looks really good. But...I'm the oddball. I liked the finger groves on it. Why? Because I got small hands and it fit me. Now up front, I haven't shot that particular revolver; only held it and wiped the drool off before handing it back. I haven't shot any 44 mag in years. Doubt it would be fun for me these days, but i did love it for a while. 6.5 inch 644 Dirty Harry and a Desert Eagle 44 were enough for me. Don't laugh, but I have a Taurus 4" 44 right now. That's the last one I've shot. It wasn't bad.
  12. I agree. But...2 words...Biden wants. That's the danger point. I know, not Old Joe actually; but those who prop him up. The man thinks he's Superman and is looking to prove it!
  13. I know there's a lot of gearheads here, and wondering if anyone might have an interest in framed/matted Dale Klee prints. bought a few over the years, but in preparation for a possible move soon...thought I'd ask.
  14. I think I'll stick with my Streamlight. Not fancy, and it's old, but it works,
  15. Sounds interesting. Maybe like a BBQ Vienna sausage sandwich?
  16. I like your thinking. But you're only 40?!?! Way too young to be this fatalistic. I got quite a few years on you, and have begun to think your way. I've accumulated a modest collection, nothing really rare, but things I've liked. No kids, and few of my family have an interest if buying me out. So I as I get prepared...many will leave me. Like you, a few sentimental pieces and favorites, but most need to leave. Suprisingly, the favs tend to be 45 and 22. That's strange for an old coot who didn't buy a 1911 until I was 40.
  17. A big yes for me! Love fried bologna anyway. The garlic just makes it better! Eggs and fried bologna make a great meal! Might send BP upa few points though.
  18. Called Gov. Lee's office. Had to leave a message. Then cut off midstream and told I was running out of time. Ended with my disagreement with Red Flag Laws being totally fraught with trouble. Gives anyone the opportunity to cause "temporary" confiscation. Think I'll get a reply? I don't. Think I'll try again this morning and try to get a human and more than 30 seconds.
  19. Thanks. I thought that might clarify and get people interested. I still want to get with you. Maybe someday we can get together. LOL.
  20. Yo're right. We all want the details of what occurred. Curiosity...yes. Morbid...no, I don't think so. Any thinking person wants to know the how and if possible, the why of such acts. Maybe we think it will give us a better insight into the psyche of these disturbed shooters/killers. As firearms owners, we all want to know what the shooters use. It's just a part of our makeup. Well, now that I say this...perhaps it is a bit on the morbid side; but we are not going about gleefully knowing what a particular weapon/caliber can do to a human body and celebrating it because we might just happen to own a similar weapon. Curiosity is a strange and wonderous think. It gives us the ability to think and learn. Some of us just seem to need to kill to satisfy that need. Not well spoken here, but hope it makes sense to you as you read.
  21. Not that I have the balance necessay to ride one these days, but do have a question. You say it was bought for a woman. Could it be a gentleman's bike?
  22. Yeah, my experience with hot chicken had me eating ice cream when I got home. I think I went thru a gallon that afternoon. My wife just laughed and laughed. She can be cruel sometimes.
  23. You tempt me buddy! I do have one of these, but just because it was the first of the poly Canik line, to my knowledge anyway; it doesn't mean it's old or out of date. This model was the first Canik I bought, and thru all the different models, it is still very much a relavent pistol. It's not outdated. It's still quite like the current models. Minor changes have come, but this is the one that started the Canik buying for me, and many others. This is quite a fair price on thi pistol! If I weren't squeezing pennies right now...I would have it! And I still might...unless one of you guys goes for it! You won't go wrong here!!
  24. Yes! What Nick said! That's a beauty! I am both happy and sad that you are in Johnson City!
  25. That could well have been me a few decades ago. Guess which one! LOL!!!
