  1. I am so sad...that it's yours and not mine!
  2. I'm sloshing now! I actually think that I sometimes just don't drink enough for long periods of time. That doesn't help. I'm sure you know the line "I just not thirsty." Wife is on me about it constantly, As she should be.
  3. Lets not get started on the other JMB child!
  4. My pleasure Cmmdr! I have favorites among the "lesser priced" range ammo. Glad to be able to offer any ifo I can. I'm usually the last to know on any sales. Blazer Brass 124. S&B in both 115/124. Fiocchi in both weights, And CCI Lawman. As I saed earlier, don't shoot a lot of PD rounds, though I have a few acquired before the more recent pricing. Where possible, I try not to buy anything else. Had good use from them and stayed there. I did stray once into Independence Ammo, and bought near 6000 rounds from a sale. It shoots well and I like it, but found later that it was a mix of new and reman. Not long after find this out, I had several failure with it in my pistol format carbine. Several light loads leaving rounds in the barrel, and 3 case seperations on ignition. Again in a rifle. I put them aside after that. I'll use them in revolvers, but just don't feel comfortable in other 9mm vehicles. Have used other brands at times, and rarely had any bad reactions. But as I began buying in bulk to get better pricing(way back in the past). I just continued with what I knew. In the early 80s, I worked with a gentleman who offerred me some of his 45 acp. He brought in 2 full cases of S&W Competition ammo. 5 a box. Yes I took it. lol As I sit here I can't remember what it said on the box. But it shot absolutely wonderful in the big, heavy 745/645? I'd bought on a whim. still hav e few boxes left. My Colt O Model "Loves" it.
  5. My dad was responsible for my BHP inclinations. He had one that he loved. I shot it a few times and liked it. Somewhere along the years, Dad sold it, and I didn't do anything until much later. IIRC, my first was a Mkll that i later sold to my b-i-l. Like you, sir, it was early 90s before I bought another. Little gun shop owned by a Bill Harton(?) in the Antioch Sam's area. As much as I liked them, I didn't have the funds to buy multiples of it. There was always something else to attract me. Have a few now. But thinking of downsizing them. I don't carry them. Just fun collection I guess.
  6. Don't think the Detective was made in Stainless, but could be misinformed on that. Now if you want to come near the pric Grayfox54 mentioned from Gunbroker...I might let mine go. HEE HEE
  7. Just from the standpoint of most news broadcasts, it appears vital to identify race...especially if cacausian. It lends more fodder for liberals to scream over. White man with a gun responsible!! FWIW...this is out of sequence and time. I was pulled away from my initial sitdown and typing. Wife and my UTI pulled me away. Ok. I've said it. I'm an old man with UTI. Hurts to pee. Burning pain and pressure afterwards. Yes I got Meds Friday. It's better, but not by much. Another couple days before relief I think. And no for those who are thinking an STD! LOL! I ain't that kind of guy! Maybe in my 20's...but I learned.
  8. Doug, all you can do is try. I commend you for that. But some just don't want the responsibility, or the cautionary fear that should go with carrying ANY sort of weapon or safety device. It's a choice that we cannot make for them, or force upon them. Each must decide for themselves. At least your daughter seems to understand this. My wife is a retired nurse and has seen things like your daughter has. Again, all she could rely on were the guards to walk them out for protection. During once time frame at Vanderbilt(both at an on campus and off campus facilites) the guards were escorting INTO the buildings. Staff was encouraged to call when they had parked, and not exit their vehicle until security arrived. Oh, the times we live in are a changin'.
  9. Sadly, I think you've said it very well. Those standing by and not accepting the reality of our life and times are just not looking...anywhere.
  10. OK. I'll be the one. NPR and no mention of race. I just wonder about this. It's terrible that this happened. Horrible that Kids were involved and killed/injured. I feel and grieve for the loss of life...any life anywhere at anytime. I really do. All life is precious. I offer morning prayer for all involved here. But...NPR reporting. This causes me a bit of questioning.
  11. BACON, Chocolate, Bagels and Cream Cheese, and Coffee grudlingly. The 4 foods! Man can sustain life with these. lol!
  12. Mayonnaise has only a few uses. Mixer for tuna and chicken salads chief among them! AND...Perhaps sparingly on a Bacon/Lettuce/Tomato sammich!! Now as far as our brothers KahrMan and Snaveba...I will pray for your return to sanity!
  13. Mayonnaise is Richard Gere! the only good Mayo! Unless some of you guys are to young to understand this!
  14. Surely you aren't just now realizing this!
  15. Now thar's just MEAN! I had myself convinced the SA35 was the one!
  16. Very well expressed, Omega! Very well.
  17. Damn! I thought I was being a downer today! Sadly though, I think I agree very much with these comments.
  18. I must admit to surprise on the mobility chairs. The 2 I attended...Louisville/Nashville, were so crowded it was impossible to do more than a virtual cattle shute walk almost every where expect outside and the edges of the crowd. But times and conditions have changed I guess. More old codgers like me who need assistance now. As far as the closing of businesses, I'm unhappy about that, but really not surprised. The liberals, the extremeists, and the Sleepy Joe edicts have put a hurt on many, not just in the firearms and accessory lines. I agree, the current import bans, and those projected to come, may have influenced many previous attendees. The above paragraph being said, can you begin to fathom the destruction in the bussiness world, and the jobs loss if Joe and Soros and Chinese all get their way? I think hundreds of businesses and hundreds of thousands of jobs would be lost! I've given a great deal of thought to this scenerio playing out, and it truly frightens me. The number of individuals and business entities that would be lost is enormous! It might not be as large and extreme as losing all the automtive industry; but sure would be felt! Sorry, getting pessimistic as I age. And it's getting worse the older I get. You youngsters just haven't gotten there yet. I hope you don't. Or have to be this way. Thanks for your comments to me on the Convention. I enjoyed hearing from you.
  19. I just knew it! You went for the Honeys!! In my Louisville trip...there were some beautiful reps. And a lot of scruffy old codgers. Seriously though, do you think this vendor slowdown was politically related? I don't think the Covid health issue played a big part in it. I had read a few things commenting on the attendance. That's why I ask. Will it continue to downsize? In this climate... I won't speculate, but I do wonder.
  20. Especially in EAST Nashville! Ok, I want to add to and amend my above comment. Parts of East Nashville have a "reputation" and it is well deserved. This particular area, as well as the "Murder Kroger"(as it is known by around here, are in a fairly high crime portion of Inglewood and East Nashville. No, I'm notdownplaying or dispariging the area. I live nearby. Sort of the fringe between East and Madison. When we moved here, it was considered a "sketchy" area at best. That has changed over the years. The influx of out of state buyers has caused a lot of gentrification all around. Property values have skyrocketed. So also have the property taxes. This has caused/forced changes in the demographics of the area. Not always to the benefit of locals. Many older folks who bought or built home in this area have been forced out because of this. I won't go into the good/bad debate or it here. For better or worse, it's the way of things. Now this change and prosperity has also changed the makeup of the population. High(er) income, younger people move in. Usually less concerned and sometimes even less aware of what this change can, and most often does. As surrounding folks are puched away' and these are mostly older. An element sees this a rich pickings for easy money. Smash'n'grabs, backyard theft, car breakins, and more recently, daytime street crime...muggings. Publicly most of the latter are downplayed, but they do happen. Ok a wee bit off track here. But shoplifting in this area has been an issue for more than just recent months and events. Walgreens and Kroger have been the prime targets, and this has escalated in recent times. In the last year, I have seen armed security at even small stores, not just Walgreens and Kroger. Whether or not they are for more than show, I don't know. But I do know that based on appearence of some of these security persons; I'd fear them more than the shoplifters. Young, sloppy, on cell phones. Not good. Ok, gone afar here. The young man at Walgreens, I think, went too far in his perception of his job duties. Unless it's a Pharmacy breakin, and even then it's questionable, he should have stayed inside. JMO
  21. I debated for years(decades really) over a Lifetime Membership. Finally during one of the promos, I bit at 250 for the Lifetime. No freebies then, so can't say I did it for the swag anyway. After all I've said about times I did attend; I do remember Louisville the most. Trump and all the fanfare associated with him. I met a lot of nice people. Didn't win anything while there. Watched many that did. Very envious. Some nice prizes. Entered the Knife Freedom contest. Being cheap and not working, I really sweated over that one! $100 a ticket really was tough for me. But after about a year, I got a box with a very nice custom knife in it. Don't remember the maker at this time, but looked him up and found he was a well known person. I'll dig out the knife sometime and tell you who he was. All being said, I do think the NRA has been a helpful organization. But like almost every group that has great intentions; they grow and get bloated from OPM. Wayne LaPierre was a good example. I truley think he started out as a good person trying to help America's gun owners and protecting our 2nd Ammendment Rights. But like many politicos, Wayne evidently was seduced by the power and the money he accumulated over the years. So leading to his downfall. And his Suit Collection didn't help either. LOL I believe he has been the greatest factor in the weakening of the NRA. I sure hop it's not too late for the organization to fully recover. Though I fear it will not, but will continue to exist.
  22. Phil Williams is one who says he is an "Investigative Journalist." JMO, but I tend to call him a muckraker at best. The longer he has been an ''On Air" personality, it seems the more loose with the facts; not always as others see them. I will give him his due though. He is a very good "Presenter."
  23. Yes, I fully agree with you here. Since we didn't know the entirity of the situation, most people react in some specific ways; usually corresponding to their status in so many different areas of life. I never thought that 2-3 years would have made such a difference in me. Shows that the Lord does have a sense of humor. I prayed for many things for our old age. Not many of them met HIS intentions for us. I said many times over the course of my 50s...If you want to hear GOD laugh, tell HIM your plans. But we go forward as we can. Thank you sir, for being such a person as is able to stimulate me, and others, to thinking and not just automatic reaction. I reall enjoy your posts and comments...well most(lol). Be safe and vigilant, my friend.
  24. A point of clarification on my comments here. Regardless of this, whether the girls are reversed, and it's a white on black situation; NO ONE should be treated this way. My feelings won't change because of the skin color. I have, and probably you too, seen videos of teens and young people just going crazy and beating someone. For unknown reasons, this seems to be increasingly seen. I don't want to say "common" but it sure seem to happen with some regularity.
