I just knew it! You went for the Honeys!! In my Louisville trip...there were some beautiful reps. And a lot of scruffy old codgers. Seriously though, do you think this vendor slowdown was politically related? I don't think the Covid health issue played a big part in it. I had read a few things commenting on the attendance. That's why I ask. Will it continue to downsize? In this climate... I won't speculate, but I do wonder.

Especially in EAST Nashville! Ok, I want to add to and amend my above comment. Parts of East Nashville have a "reputation" and it is well deserved. This particular area, as well as the "Murder Kroger"(as it is known by around here, are in a fairly high crime portion of Inglewood and East Nashville. No, I'm notdownplaying or dispariging the area. I live nearby. Sort of the fringe between East and Madison. When we moved here, it was considered a "sketchy" area at best. That has changed over the years. The influx of out of state buyers has caused a lot of gentrification all around. Property values have skyrocketed. So also have the property taxes. This has caused/forced changes in the demographics of the area. Not always to the benefit of locals. Many older folks who bought or built home in this area have been forced out because of this. I won't go into the good/bad debate or it here. For better or worse, it's the way of things. Now this change and prosperity has also changed the makeup of the population. High(er) income, younger people move in. Usually less concerned and sometimes even less aware of what this change can, and most often does. As surrounding folks are puched away' and these are mostly older. An element sees this a rich pickings for easy money. Smash'n'grabs, backyard theft, car breakins, and more recently, daytime street crime...muggings. Publicly most of the latter are downplayed, but they do happen. Ok a wee bit off track here. But shoplifting in this area has been an issue for more than just recent months and events. Walgreens and Kroger have been the prime targets, and this has escalated in recent times. In the last year, I have seen armed security at even small stores, not just Walgreens and Kroger. Whether or not they are for more than show, I don't know. But I do know that based on appearence of some of these security persons; I'd fear them more than the shoplifters. Young, sloppy, on cell phones. Not good. Ok, gone afar here. The young man at Walgreens, I think, went too far in his perception of his job duties. Unless it's a Pharmacy breakin, and even then it's questionable, he should have stayed inside. JMO

I debated for years(decades really) over a Lifetime Membership. Finally during one of the promos, I bit at 250 for the Lifetime. No freebies then, so can't say I did it for the swag anyway. After all I've said about times I did attend; I do remember Louisville the most. Trump and all the fanfare associated with him. I met a lot of nice people. Didn't win anything while there. Watched many that did. Very envious. Some nice prizes. Entered the Knife Freedom contest. Being cheap and not working, I really sweated over that one! $100 a ticket really was tough for me. But after about a year, I got a box with a very nice custom knife in it. Don't remember the maker at this time, but looked him up and found he was a well known person. I'll dig out the knife sometime and tell you who he was. All being said, I do think the NRA has been a helpful organization. But like almost every group that has great intentions; they grow and get bloated from OPM. Wayne LaPierre was a good example. I truley think he started out as a good person trying to help America's gun owners and protecting our 2nd Ammendment Rights. But like many politicos, Wayne evidently was seduced by the power and the money he accumulated over the years. So leading to his downfall. And his Suit Collection didn't help either. LOL I believe he has been the greatest factor in the weakening of the NRA. I sure hop it's not too late for the organization to fully recover. Though I fear it will not, but will continue to exist.

Phil Williams TFA/John Harris Hit Piece
hipower replied to Defender's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Phil Williams is one who says he is an "Investigative Journalist." JMO, but I tend to call him a muckraker at best. The longer he has been an ''On Air" personality, it seems the more loose with the facts; not always as others see them. I will give him his due though. He is a very good "Presenter." -
Wives, Daughters, Girlfriends Should Always Carry

Yes, I fully agree with you here. Since we didn't know the entirity of the situation, most people react in some specific ways; usually corresponding to their status in so many different areas of life. I never thought that 2-3 years would have made such a difference in me. Shows that the Lord does have a sense of humor. I prayed for many things for our old age. Not many of them met HIS intentions for us. I said many times over the course of my 50s...If you want to hear GOD laugh, tell HIM your plans. But we go forward as we can. Thank you sir, for being such a person as is able to stimulate me, and others, to thinking and not just automatic reaction. I reall enjoy your posts and comments...well most(lol). Be safe and vigilant, my friend. -
Wives, Daughters, Girlfriends Should Always Carry

A point of clarification on my comments here. Regardless of this, whether the girls are reversed, and it's a white on black situation; NO ONE should be treated this way. My feelings won't change because of the skin color. I have, and probably you too, seen videos of teens and young people just going crazy and beating someone. For unknown reasons, this seems to be increasingly seen. I don't want to say "common" but it sure seem to happen with some regularity. -
You got only 2 right...BACON and chocolate! These are #1 & #2!

Just saw this and ordered 2 cases. LockedLoaded.Com has some good ammo prices going today. I found this Blazer Brass 115 gr or 124gr for $219 per case of 1000. Good Price, but they will hit you on Shipping. 2 cases was 499 shipped. Not too bad for these days. Not great. But I went for it. As of now, the ad is still live and says Still In Stock. Hope this helps someone. I don't shoot a lot of PD ammo, the prices are just too much for my budget. A mag or 2 in each I think I might carry, a few more in favorite carry piece. Anyway, other brands available, both in range and PD, but I didn't really look at them. Blazer is one of about 4 favorites, so I stick with those.

Ok, another side to this from me. a worse beating, maybe. But at this point, if I physically can...one or more of the street punks is hurting with me. Bad attitude? Maybe. But with what I've seen across this county, what I've seen and experienced personally here in Nashville, I'd feel in fear of my life here and be pulling at this point. Look, I'm old, physically impaired, and can't move quickly. I don't have handicapped tag on my car because I think it puts a target on me and my wife. How easy is it for thugs to watch for a handicapped tag and see who gets into it? Someone with a cane, walker, or a wheelchair sure can look like and easy target. I'd like to know how many parking lot attack victims had a handicapped tag? It sure doesn't seem to be mentioned on the news reports. I, and my wife, use the hang tags. They are a pita. Blowing off when your door opens, and at sometimes you/me/we, forget to hang them up. I'm a good looking enough target now, I don't need more invitation. I joke around quite a bit. I know it. But I really feel this way about parking lots. And I DO NOT walk on open streets anymore. I don't care if it is my neighborhood. I am very serious when I say this next thing. I have been targeted in lots. Several times. When someone eyeballs me, and follows even when I turn to look at them, and even as I change course...I feel threatened and react so. Next action on my part is to stop. Maybe move my shirt to get to my pocket. Fake a hanky pull. Whatever. but I will espose the fact that I'm armed. Might even lay a hand on whatever is there. I've done this twice. One got to within 20 feet or so before stopping and looking hard and nasty at me. Another didn't come as close. Still to close for me. -

I did comment on that not knowing, but, at what point does walking away and then being accosted, hit and threatened, become a situation for an agressive show of force at least, and then self defense measures. -
Almost got me with this one! I had one and just didn't feel right to me. Still, you got me thinking about another try. So go sell this already!

Nothing wrong with that. You got a quality piece(s) you like and trust. Backups are good. I might have a spare of certain items myself.

Ok, we don't know what started all this. However, the young redhead is being followed, verball abused, and threatened. The first attack was, for me, the beginning of a life threatening situation. After the second attack, I'm pretty sure I'd have drawn my weapon and told them to stop. When it continued...that's the end of being nice for me. Maybe a shot into the ground first. Maybe not. But after the head banging and that young punk body slamming...someone besides me is going to be bleeding. Opinions? -
Let's wait until a model for LEO use is built and succeeds in the real world. then I might buy one.

I got an old Single Six at a gun shop I stopped at one day. Finish reall bad, and rear sight almost look like it was beaten with a hammer. Hammer and trigger were good, and the cyclinder was tight. It just looked like crap. Since the guy had several nice Rugers there, I said you need to get that one out. It makes the others look bad. He laughed at that and said make me an offer. Well, I just threw out a low offer, and to my surprise he said yes. 150 OTD. I walked away happy. Still have it somewhere around here. It was so smooth I gave it to my wife. She hid it for emergency use. Haven't seen it since!

This is one sweet pistol! I've fired them and like it, but...not enough to buy it. My first move would be to put a CT Lasergrip on it! Someone take this! Please?
-
Perhaps it is a laudable idea. But for now, the only places that guns like this work are in the movies or in books. Mostly SyFy at that. I think we'd see a rash of fingers and hands removed to get prints and rings that make it function. Maybe hackers getting proficient in blocking the signals to the gun. Disable it and you got a club again. Much needs to be overcome before I would trust my life to such a weapon.

Lying on a 4473? NO. Never have I. Except for that weight question. LOL I did have a copy of the newest 4473, but can't locate it at the moment; so I'm just spitballin' from memory here. I saw a new question about our purchase and purpose for the item. Do you intend to keep it or resell it? That throws a whole 'nother monkey into the barrel. Can we be gotten for lying on the form if we don't like the purchase and then sell it. Seems like Question 22a or 23a. I was taalking to Phil at Bellshire and he showed it to me.

Changed my comment on this. Re-read several times and I really like what you say and how you said it. A good. concise statetment on what's happening today. I usuall comment to my wife about how they/police know how and when something is purchased. Isn't it strange?
-
Ditto! I missed the ad and don't have a clue here. Normal for me.
-
Yep! The appearance of doing something. The key to a long, successful political career! Uncle Joe has done this all his life...and look where it got him!
-
LOL. So would I. My wife asked last month if I was going this year. She can be so cruel sometimes. I'm a bit of a lone wolf, have been all my life. Regretting it more and more these days. Perhaps when I get a few things done...we can get together. Right now, got a major UTI...again. And a kidney stone that gives a few pains. Blessedly, it is captured in the folds of the kidney. It causes a bit of bleeding sometimes, but hasn't and can't move without something like a bad hit on the kidney. Doc says the only options are leave it alone or surgical removal of part or all of the kidney. I voted to leave it alone.

Phil Williams TFA/John Harris Hit Piece
hipower replied to Defender's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I caught the promo on 5 with Phil talking about the interview. I was a bit agitatted over it. So I decided that I knew enough about Phil Williams that I'd not watch the full interview. Your description of PW is accurate, btw. John Harris and the TFA are know to us. Need I say more?
