  1. You need to hook up with Handsome Rob. I think he's from your part of the world also. Temptations everywhere! I know. I caved in to many of them when I first found TGO. But I had a good job and income back then. lol. Now older, retired and no source of money to feed my habits.
  2. Good for you! That's a good deal! LOL. A friend of mine loves them. TripleGGG is a very nice person. Only met once and was impressed with his friendly manner, knowledge, and just generally being a nice person to be around and listen/chat with.
  3. Welcome, sir. But be forewarned...The Legion posts lots of tempting items! He really is a good guy, just makes life hard on us old broke people!
  4. Retiring Marine? You've paid your dues, Sir. Welcome to TGO!! Thank you for your Service.
  5. Welcome back! I understand your concerns with aging. We really didn't plan it this way(ON A LOT of THINGS...lol) but we are within 5 miles of the majority of our Docs. Firehall and EMS 2 miles away. We used the EMS services. So this location worked out well, just by accident.
  6. Welcome. Dalles? Don't know it.
  7. Welcome to the forum.
  8. Welcome Darren. Do you mind telling what area you are in? Might be where I sometimes shoot.
  9. Welcome. But what's this "best behavior" you speak of?
  10. Well, that might have influenced me on the PPK/s. But don't know that I really noticed what was in Pierce's hands. Too busy watching my drool over him! I know of a couple guys working in gun shops who just swear the P99 is the best ever handgun. Just for my wife(LOL), I did buy a PPK in 22. Haven't shot it. Realized how much I had in it and decided to keep MINT so I could sell it someday!
  11. I dislike many people too! Most are *****, but a few are ok. Most of the good ones are here! Welcome, drdirtnap!
  12. I gots one of those! It's a neat organizer! But it sure gets tough with top shelves!
  13. Welcome to the good country, Rick. I think you'll like it here. Walmart issues aside.
  14. I do agree with Defender and the moral code of the deal online being a "Gentleman's Agreement." I'm pretty sure we all adhere to that form of dealing with people here and in "real" life as my wife says. (Once accused me of living in a sort of virtual reality because of all the time I've spent here.) I've been a prolific buyer. Far to much in fact. Tried to be direct in communications about pricing and meeting locations. I have, in fact, asked to be released from that buying obligation I think 2, maybe three times here. Explained the situation fully and offered to complete the buy if the seller wasn't satisified with my explanation and request. Never had an unhappy incident with anyone here because of it. In almost 13(?) years here, I must say there have been 2 cases where the seller has made a deal with me and then refused to meet or complete the sale. One in particular was extremely bad. Details aren't necessary, but if you want the story, PM me and I'll tell you. Anyway the situation was resolved. I never got the item, and due to really bad things happening in the background, the seller was banned. I will say I enjoyed that part. But my point is that there are cases that may happen with buyers and sellers that result in a non-sale after the initial aggrement is made. They are rare, but it does happen. But this should occur with an honest apology to the offended/hurt party and all be resolved like Gentlemen. Most, probably 99%+ here can be called this. It's one of the reasons I've stayed here and bought so much.
  15. Only in print ads. I'm afraid I might like it. After all the years of hearing and reading about them,, I've actually never even held one.
  16. You, Sir, are implying heresy with such a comment! GLOCKS Forever! Or at least as long as I own one, then we go to Walther!
  17. One tiny foote and a bigger foote?
  18. You mean "Essa niieeceee." But I agree. Like the all stainless version too. Had one several years ago. Sold it for a bit of a profit from my purchase. But not a greedy one. LOL. Actually, I try to like Berettas, but I just can't get pas the size and chunkiness of them. Yes they are awesom firearms, just not for me.
  19. At 71 now, its "Generations" below me. Multiple gens, by all sorts of names. Our young are losing sight of about everything but selfpleasure and the "get it free...I'm owed it viewpoint. Lack of respect for tradition and education. The past is of no use to them, and many don't know even basic history anymore. Lack of work ethic...heck lack of ethics at all in so many of them now. So sad. I see the FB line "I miss the America I grew up in" a lot. And I do.
  20. DAMN! I hate logic at times! May, and does, sound extremist. But not many have lost on betting on the idiocy and undeniable power...of whatever we want to call this current ruling body. I really don't like thinking this way. But Greed has taken this country by storm in recent years! Whether it be for money or power, and there's precious little difference between the two anymore; the evil that is greed and love of accumulating money by any means is my take on the cause of all our problems. Maybe I'm oversimplifiny. but my take on it all.
  21. Don't know which of them to be more afraid of. It's a damnable choice!
