I have a Taurus/Rossi Circuit Judge Model SCJ 4510 carbine. For those unfamiliar, this is a 45 Colt/.410 carbine, with a cylinder like a revolver. Some have composite furniture, but mine has wood. First problem is that mine developed cracks in the forward area, where the buttstock joins the frame/receiver. Second problem is that it developed these cracks with less than 75 rounds through it, due to inferior wood. I called Rossi and they agreed it was a problem with the wood buttstocks, and a customer service lady got permission to order me a new buttstock. That was in October of last year!   Third problem is that I have been given the run-around ever since. I've talked to at least eight customer service reps since then, all of which were nice, but blowing the smoke their boss has given them. They claim to have shifted from the wood and buttstocks that were made in Brazil, to supposedly a better company that uses better wood. I was told this a few months ago. When questioned about where my replacement buttstock is, they now say that the buttstocks are in production, but they're trying to build up inventory, so they can mail them to everyone, without showing favoritism.    I feel they are slinging BS my way to put me off indefinitely. The gun is like new, with the box, paperwork, and all accessories. But, I can't do anything with it... I can't use it, sell it, or trade it, in it's current condition. Does anyone have any idea how I can get some help, in forcing them to stand behind their promise to send me a new buttstock? I like the gun. It's a lot of fun to shoot, and is a very handy gun to have around. But... Rossi's customer service is pathetic at best, and dishonest at worse.   I appreciate all suggestions on how I could get them to keep their promise to me of sending me a replacement buttstock. Ehull20000, I hate that you guys weren't able to get one to come in. Hopefully, next time. I'd be interested, and I imagine others would be too, if you'd tell us some details about your coyote hunts...like what kinds of guns, ammo, calls, camo, stands particulars, layout of land in front of your stands, did you hear coyotes in the area, what time did you get on the stand, and how long do you stay on a stand? Us wannabe newbs can appreciate every single morsel of tips and information we can get to improve our coyote hunting skills. Thanks.

There are some good utube videos of coyotes taking down various game animals. In addition, they take lots of calves during the calving season, and pets from subdivisions with woods nearby. Someone posted earlier that it's a form of game management to take out coyotes. I'd love to learn how to coyote hunt in the Murfreesboro/middle Tennessee area.

Oh Shoot, they're pretty pricey, but "Toth Tools" builds a special tool for pulling and reinstalling the barrel. They also build a special tool for driving the rivets... and special jaws for the 24" bolt cutter to drive the trunnion rivets. I'm looking for these... to buy, rent or pay for help with your Toth Tool fixtures.

Leafinthewind, did you find any help with your AK? Do you know of anyone that has the "Toth Tool" rivet driving tools? I have a Romy "G" that I'm using a Nodak Spud receiver on. Any help would be appreciated.

I thank everyone for their replies. I went to the last Murfreesboro gun show and was disappointed David wasn't there with lots of reloading stuff. Only two there and they had limited loading supplies. What I'm trying to do, is load as close as I can to factory bullets. Most of the ones I have in soft point or hollow point are 45 grain.

Anyone on here an expert on loading 22 Hornet? I'm pretty much covered on all components except hollow point and soft point bullets. I'm new to reloading this round and appreciate any advice. I've read that because of the lower velocity, 22 Hornet bullets need thinner jackets to aid in expansion. Anyone familiar with this? How do you identify these bullets, especially if they're in bulk, like at gun shows. Where can I get some of these? If anyone knows of a dealer that handles them in the Murfreesboro area, please let me know. Any information is appreciated.

Hey Dolomite, just curious about the difference in todays WASRs, from those of 10 to 15 years ago? Are the current made ones single or double stack mags? Obviously, I've been out of the AK loop for a few years. Thanks.

Dolomite, you are truly a blessed man to own three of these babies! I have a Romanian parts kit that I've had for years.... from back when the only cut was made to the receiver. All it needs is to have the rivets driven and the barrel reinstalled. I have procrastinated, because I couldn't find anyone with the tools to drive the rivets so they look like factory rivets. Did you build yours or buy them already assembled? My kit has all matching numbers with a factory built Noduk Spud receiver. Do you know anyone with the proper tools and skill, in middle Tennessee, that would possibly help me finish my project? I don't expect them to help for free. I'd be glad to pay them for their time and the use of their tools. All I ask is that the rivets are factory quality when we're done. I could "bubba" it up by myself! Thanks.

I wouldn't mind having a Romanian AK myself...a kit gun built with rivets, not screws, and a Nodak Spud receiver.

Nice gun Deerbnb. The Brownings are a favorite of mine, especially the mid 60s, Belgium light 20s.

I have launched my little Otter Stealth duck boat at that ramp a few times in the past. Don't think I'll be going back. Just to have your vehicle broken into takes all of the enjoyment out of a fishing trip... or the worry that it might be broken into while you're in the river fishing. Sympathy to the family.

Gregintenn, I like that lever action Savage (99?). What caliber is it? I've liked Savages all my life, and have a few. Good looking gun.

Thanks for posting the fishing pics (memories), Gregintenn. Memories that your sons will tell their sons about, oneday. For sure, you can't get fish in a restsurant any fresher than that. Looks like you guys had a gteat vacation.

Great find & what's also worthy is the time you get to spend in the woods with your 10 year old grandson hunting. He'll cherish those hunts the rest of his life. My granddad let me tag along, when I was too young to have a gun and taught me how to hunt. He was born in 1882 and passed in 1970, but I still remember and cherish those hunts. Hope you both get lots of enjoyment and put lots of squirrels in the pot, with this rifle.

Bersa, you should take them up on some of those invites. Just being afield, with a loaded shotgun, listening to the sounds and smelling the countryside, is therapudic for sure. You could pace yourself, and just enjoy the freedom of open field hunting. You could probably still bring home a good mess of rabbits. Just do it after a couple of hard freezes, to avoid the parasites! Have fun.

That's a good lookin' line up of shootin' hardware,Sidinman. You should be able to pretty much handle anything Madison County sends your way. Some good open country huntin' around there for sure. I realize we're mostly talking deer huntin' here, but I'm just curious if there are still any quail left around there?

TNWNGR, I'll probably migrate to my Rock Chucker, as soon as I get the feel of loading that thin brass. But, I like the "portability" of the hand press, in case I want to try different loads while outside killing dots on paper.

Thanks for that tip, Roverboy. I'm a big chicken, so I always like to start on the low side of a "published" load...and ease up to the optimum load slowly.

I saw some "Dove Loads" tonight at Walley World, Old Ft. Pky. In the Boro for $4.95 a box. I'm not sure I can reload them for that!

Roverboy, I have some Lil' Gun and some 2400 that I plan to use on the .22 Hornet. Seems that I remember about 11.0 to 12.0 grains of Lil' Gun fills the case. I thought I read somewhere that the 2400 was designed for the .22 Hornet. I think it was named 2400 because it brought the .22 Hornet up to 2400 FPS. Anyway, checking through some of my brass of unknown history and found a lot of it had split walls. Most had multiple cracks running perpendicular to the case. They were tiny cracks, but visable with mu magnifying glass. I also noticed some of the primers were backed out a bit and flattened. I'm thinking maybe some hot loads and possibly some worn (loose) chambers. The rest was ok, for at least one more reload. Thanks for your reply.

Anybody on here that reloads .22 Hornet? I'm about to start...and noticed that the brass is "thin". Thinking I might be too ham fisted on my Rock Chucker, I bought a Lee Hand Press. I'm hoping I'll be able to avoid some crushed brass. Having never loaded any .22 Hornet before, I'd appreciate any tips on reloading this tiny round. I would also be interested in hearing about your "specialized" loads for different game...squirrel, rabbits, racoons, bobcats, coyotes etc. Have any of you been casting your own bullets? If so, what weight and style. Finally, I'm particuraly interested in your success in using this little round for hunting. Right now, I'll be shooting mine from break barrel guns...Contender with rifle and pistol barrels and a Springfield Arms M6 Scout. I'm looking for a Savage 24V-D in .22 Hornet over a 20 gauge, and have been for sometime. So, if you know someone that would sell theirs, send them my way.
