Ok. I'll go with 25 and blue Loc-tite. I have red also, but I'd never be able to remove it again. I imagine the low torque value with Loc-tite is to releave stress. Thanks for the help.

Ae-35, Check out olyarms.com. 10mm carbine.

Installing a Brake with 5/8"X24 threads using a jam nut. What should I torque it to in Ft.Lbs. Thanks.

I respect you old farts. It seems to me like the older I get, I learn how little I know. I wish that I knew what I know now when I was younger. That made me tired.

So true. How about Ted Nugent for President? I hope this starts something here! Come on Ted think about it. It aparently dosen't even matter if you were born in the US or not.

Check out Olympic Arms. .45 AR if your getting a .45 supressor. You can get the entire AR or just the upper. The upper comes with a magazine thru Midway with a good price. I really like the pistol caliber carbines. I started with the BerettaCX4. Yea it's plastic (like a Glock) but compact like a bullpup and I share ammo with my 1911. Just a thunk. Mech-tech? Use two guns to make one? I must be missing something.

Just one. A 1916 Remington semi-auto rifle. This thing is little. Loads on the side of the stock. Handed down from my grandfather to my dad to me to my daughter.

Does anyone close to Hendersonville have a 5/8"X24 die, die handle and thread alignment tool I can borrow or rent for a day? I will replace anything I mess up with new. I need to thread 1 barrel. Thanks. Charles.

Never did take any pics. They look just like they did. Just rubber. I've been carrying it in by back pocket. Sitting on it. Moving around. Still holding up just like when I sprayed them. I decided to touch up my Aimpoint today, so you guessed it, it's rubber now too. Don't know if anyone else has tried it yet. I've gotten several compliments on the grips feeling much better.

Your gonna be looking at around $200 start to finish. The class first- $50-$100. Then a trip to the drivers liscence testing center- $115.00. Then fingerprinted-$included somewhere in there. Then the wait begins, mine was less than 2 weeks. Then in Tennessee you can wear a cowboy holster if you want to. It's not a concealed-carry permit here. It's a handgun carry permit. Concealment isn't necessary. The Armory in Lebanon recommends Eddie Barnes-800-311-9399 or 615-210-9768. At least he's on the back of their business card.

5/8" X 24 threads on a .45 barrel?
flyanything replied to flyanything's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
According to 922® I will have to substitute two American made items. The trigger and hammer are replaced. So, I can thread and add a removable device. -
Ok. I found with the parts count, if I replace the hammer and trigger, I can thread the barrel and add a brake. Thats just silly. But rules are rules.

5/8" X 24 threads on a .45 barrel?
flyanything replied to flyanything's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
It may seem so. However, I'm still reducing the material at the attachment point. -
I've been cruisin' the Beretta forums about threading my CX4 barrel. There is a lot of talk of it not being 922r complient if the muzzle device is removable. I want to put a brake on my barrel. The barrel is 16.6". Are the regs. for imported rifles different once they are in the US? I'm not understanding the 922r. Never dealt with class 3 or other regs. Just looking for a simple answer. Thanks.

I have a Beretta CX4 .45. The O.D. of the barrel is 5/8 or .625. I want to add a muzzle brake. I know that .625 is used to cut 5/8" threads, but will there be enough material left on the barrel for the pressures of a brake firing a .45ACP? If I thread the barrel, I will thread so I can use a jam nut to tighten against. The barrel is cold hammer forged steel and chrome lined. I was a machinist in the Navy and I can cut the threads, I just wanted some opinions on this application. Thanks for your time.

The website does give the impression that it's members only. Upon talking to them while in the place, they told me $15 for a day. I'm going to hold off for a Guns and Leather membership. They've always done me right and will be closer for me.

$15 for the day.

I've got an XD. I just wanted to try a Glock and didn't like it. I gave it my best effort to like it because it would be a new toy to play with. There are a lot of discussion forums on Glock vs. 1911 is why I started the post with questions about a Glock. Don't want another pissin contest about the two. There are enough of those. I tried it, Been there done that. not for me.

Las Palmos? I'm trying to think where that is. Two Mile pky?

Any suggestions on a lighter, crisper trigger?

Shot it today to sight in the Aimpoint. About 50 rounds. It shoots nice. I'm gonna work on the trigger a little.

Went by there this morning. Decent range but hardly any guns and no gear and accessories. Super nice people. I know my brother in law will get a membership there sinve he lives 1/2 mile away. Open 8-8. Membership is $250 with $100 off right now which gets you 10% off anything you buy during your membership. Good deal.

Shot the 21 today. Side by side with my 1911. 30 rounds thru each. The Glock is not for me.

That's neat. What range around White House?
