There is no left or right ejection, it ejects the spent casings out of the front next to the piston adjustment. -
Keltec RFB 16" 7.62x51/ .308 Like new, One box of 7.62 shot then put in safe at 47% humidity. Gas piston operated with front ejection. CQB without worrying about an illegal buttstock. Aimpoint Pro w/qd, and Aimpoint 3X Magnifier/twist release. Added grip tape made for the RFB, and a new muzzle brake. Ambidextrous, can switch charging handle to left or right for preference. It's time to buy my grandson a dirtbike, otherwise I'd keep it. One neat rifle. Asking $1700 obo. With Aimpoints. $1000 without optics. charlesyoung87@icloud.com In Hendersonville.

No longer for sale. Like new Kimber Super Carry Ultra in .45acp. I had the slide Cerakoted for a better finish. Installed Crimson Trace front activation laser grips. Has tritium night sights. Approximately 200 rounds sent downrange. Very well cared for. $1000. will buy it. I can be reached at 630-200-five-six-zero-eight, or charlesatist@gmail.com Hendersonville, TN will meet within reason. -
The only responses from Sigtalk are custom order barrels or a gunsmith making one. There was, in another thread a mention of Sig making a 716 Precision model available to LEO which has an 18" barrel.
-
I don't mind the recoil, I don't want to throw off the shot of my neighbor. "Never listen to RSO's, except when the say Cold or Hot and other range orders. They apparently are worse than gun store people." Well Said, I guess they don't know the difference between a brake and a piston either.

I think I'll switch over to a flash hider, but I do like blowing my buddies hat off though. I don't like to disturb the shooter next to me excessively. It doesn't seem like the piston would be any louder for anything I can think of. The gas is either escaping from the handguard or the ejection port.
-
Is a gas piston AR louder than do? I was at a range and the range officer showed up thinking I was shooting a .50. I was shooting a Sig 716 which is a piston .308. I have the AAC brake on it. He said the pistons were much louder than DI rifles. Any input on this?

I'm wanting to switch to a 20" barrel on my 716. These dang AR10's are just to specific. Everything does not just interchange like the AR15's where you can use 20 different manufactures to build one rifle. There's Armalite pattern, DPMS pattern, and sig doesn't know what pattern they are. Even mags don't interchange. I know I can use any trigger group, buffer tube, and obvious stuff like stocks and brakes/flash hiders, but not rails. These .308s are a definate learning curve. I have had the DPMS also, so I got to play with switching some things around to test. So,,,Does anyone know about the 716? Is there any 20" carbine length barrel I can get for it? If I sell my barrel to recoup some of the cost, would I list it as a DPMS pattern or is it Sig specific? Any AR10 interchangeability knowledge would be nice. And no, I can't just go buy the SCAR or REPR. Thanks for any help. PS: if you want to shoot it, just get me a place close to Hendersonville to shoot, and you can wear it out.

I don't know how to add a pic with a phone yet. I'll work on it.

I got my 716 a few months ago and love it. I actually bought it for the piston. I don't like cleaning very much. It did have a little wiggle between the upper/lower but it has a set screw adjustment to fix it. It doesn't work very well so I threw an accu-wedge in there instead, now she's tight. I went with a Trij. TR-22 on Larue, offset 45 deg. backups, AAC 18T, and currently looking for a UBR to replace the CTR. Nice and accurate, almost runs with my buddies Accuracy International 700. This piston system is wierd though, the bolt has gas rings! Sig says it runs fine with or without.
