  1. ok. fair enough. all cops display a badge and never wear black pants/boots/shirts in public
  2. maybe he was a cop...i did you verify...
  3. good luck.....its a experience. My girlfriend and i used it as something to do on valentines day. best v-day i have had (and cheapest)
  4. Carry.....be prepared. No one HAS to know. If its a private party then no one will be chillin at the entrance with a medal detector. If it hits the fan i would doubt anyone would file charges for saving their life. This isn't legal advice and dont take it as such....just sayin what i would do in you situation
  5. i wonder if that guy knows which end of the gun to point at the BG
  6. finally, one i can afford

Well....its a little late now but i purchased a G26 this week. I havent got it to the range yet so i am wondering what to expect. I wanted a .40/.45 carry gun but after holding the compact glocks i assumed that might be too much power for a gun that small. I feel VERY conferable with the 9mm and most of my guns match that caliber. Also, if you have any OWB holster suggestions i would appreciate it. I want to carry OWB with a jacket/sweater. Any suggestions would be appreciated UMM>>>TO CLARIFY THE TITLE>>>>I PURCHASED A 26 NOT a 23
  10. agreed.....if you can shoot a BB gun you can pass with a .22
  11. Thanks for all the help. I am gonna pick up one more piece of plastic (and i dont mean credit card) then make a point to shot one of these.
  12. not at all worried about shooting one. I have just never had the chance. I have owned glocks, taurus, s/w and keltec. Its not that i am unfamiliar with the 45. I just haven't shot one in the 1911 platform. I am wondering about the advantages of the 1911.....
  13. agreed...congrats! sounds to me like you have a good excuse to buy a new gun while you wait
  14. Well....its embarrassing but i have never fired a 1911. Although i feel my age and lack of military training might be the reason, i dont think this is a valid excuse. Personally, i know very little outside of the history of the gun. Can anyone fill me in on the basics so WHEN i get to fire one i have a idea of what i am doing. Again, rookie question of the decade. I just grew up with tubberware. I have never had the extra coin to get a 1911 for range use. I cant carry one cause' i dont know ***** about it. So therefor i never owned one.
  15. sweeet
  16. I am pretty sure it is posted. I remember there was a debate on here about it in the past. I am about 90% sure but i havent been there in a long time ...damn college budget
  17. I had a 2nd gen. I like it. Not something you want to take to the range and shoot a lot. It will damn near kill your hand i found that a hollow point in the chamber and ball points in the mag was the way to go!
  18. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/8209-carry-tva-lake.html start here....see if you can get some useful info out of this thread
  19. welcome
  20. Thanks for all the help guys Keep the suggestions going. I am researching everything that comes across
  21. might want to check out the thread i started last night. It seems we are looking for about the same thing http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/29207-well-i-need-some-help.html
  22. Alright guys, its almost time for me to buy myself a early Christmas present. I pretty much think i am looking for a gun that doesnt exist but.....humor me with any suggestions you might have. -9mm, .40 or .45 -manual safety -Double action -I would prefer single stack. This is why; i want to find something i can carry OWB without wearing "guy with gun "clothes. -Under $800 (well.....if you think of something that might work i could MAYBE go a little more ) Thanks for the help. Ben
  23. thanks
  24. might want to try this; it seemed to help me a lot go buy a "fake round" (not sure of the technical name but they are avalible at most shooting stores.) Mix 2 or 3 of these guys in your magazine while you are at the range. It WILL expose any issues you have. If you are pushing/pulling/etc you will be able to tell because you will still be anticipating the recoil.
