  1. Update* Just got home from the range. Nice facility. Two lanes with plans to expand in the future. Targets hang up to 35 ft away. Ken (rangemaster) check my weapons when i arrived. I understand why they would do this. Since i am new there, he asked me to load a magazine and fire off a few rounds. After that he said (ok....your good to go. I will check back in every 10 mins or so.) That was it. Not much to it. Seems to be knowledgeable and very helpful. Regarding the above posts his attitude/military service; I talked with him at length about what his goals with the facility and his experience. He never once mentioned any military time. I didnt ask but he wasn't wearing it on his sleeve or bragging about it. IM me if you have any questions or want to talk further.
  2. i called yesterday and they said they were open to the public. According to Lester, the range-master can be somewhat harsh if he doesn't know you or doesn't know you have shooting experience. I think that's understandable to a point considering the liability they would face operating a firing range. I'll give ti a full review after i visit this afternoon.
  3. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/41151-new-me-indoor-range-northeast-tn.html just a FYI
  4. Well, i kinda stumbled on this one on accident today. Looks like we now have a indoor range in Gray TN. I will go tomorrow and check it out. Looks like its only 2 lanes for now with room to expand. I told the guy on the phone to become a sponsor on the TGO and he said to bring more info with me tomorrow (which i will do) and he would follow up on it. I am in no way advertising for a firing range that isnt a sponsor. Just saying its there. More info tomorrow after i check it out and talk with them about sponsorship Gray Kennels & Security
  5. agreed......if we could pass 5-6 strong pro-gun laws we would be on-line with other strong 2nd amendment states such as Texas. We gotta move while we have the momentum
  6. anyone with a HCP is welcome to carry in my restaurant....employee and customer alike. I think its crazy to own a business that isn't well defend.
  7. well...guess that isnt a option. Thanks ohshoot. Can i carry one of my grandfathers pistols (legal resident of FL) legally in FL while on this trip? What are the odds i run into issues at the airport transporting my G26? I have never flown with a pistol before so i am somewhat uneasy about the situation. Is it common practice? maybe i paranoid?
  8. thanks smith. The rainbow pride is why i made the decision to stay in key largo....in addition to the sweet marriott resort there. Key west will be a one/two day destination. I have been there before and know what to expect. If you can get past the "culture issues" the town itself has lots of history. I want her to go on some ghost tours and experience a few tequila filled nights in key west. But, i gotta figure out the best way to get a personal defense weapon in the state without issue. If no other option, i would buy a well used glock/sig in Fl on arrival and trade it in for cash or a transfer to TN before leaving. I dont want to be unarmed but i REALLY dont want problems at the airport Its the honeymoon...i dont want to sleep on the couch
  9. In august, i plan to travel to Key Largo for my honeymoon (pending oil spill situation.) My future wife and myself are both Tn HCP holders. I need to know what i need to do to be safe in FL. I still have time to submit for a out of state permit from FL if needed. I will be traveling via allegiant air. Does anyone have feedback on their handgun policy? If this was a typical vacation i would do what they said on the website and move forward but....its a HONEYMOON!!! I dont want any problems at the airport. i always have the option of buying the sig 238 while i am in the state. Then having it shipped back to my FFL here in TN. Its not the easiest way but i will consider it as a option if necessary. Thanks in advance for the feedback. It is much appreciated
  10. i'm in 145 members as of right now
  11. here's the info i found regarding when the law would come into effect: This law will go into effect upon being assigned a public chapter number by the Tennessee Secretary of State. NRA-ILA :: Gov. Bredesen
  12. just the basics...I'm driving up there to pick up a rescue dog. Chances are i wont spend more than 2 hours outside of my truck. I just wanted to make sure i didn't have to notify officers if i happen to see one in a gas station or encounter one in any other way (outside of a traffic stop, i will do so has a courtesy.) Also, what is the status of restaurant carry in VA? I know laws changed or will be changed in the next few months. I understand that you can open carry but not conceal in restaurants that serve beer/alcohol. Is that accurate?
  13. thank you......thread can be deleted now
  14. I have searched with little success for carry laws in VA. I found the laws listed on the Virginia website but they dont address all the issues i am wondering about. Can someone please tell me the link to the carry website that provides info on armed travel to Virginia. Thanks. Sorry i had no luck searching for the info
  15. Just got this one for a sweeet deal although i dont know much about it. Its a Winchester Model 94 (my first) chambered in .30 WCF. Serial number is 1527xxx. I would put this rifle at near 90% condition. No modifications, scratches, etc. I would like to know the year it was manufactured and also the typical resale value. I doubt that i will ever part with it but i am interested to know how much they go for. Thanks for the help in advance
