I gotta add my "got pulled over while carrying story." I was in a new vehicle with temporary tags. Not to mention, i didn't have a insurance card because it wasn't received in the mail at that time. I was speeding....kinda bad. 53 in a 35. The limit changed when i came into a very small community. I apparently missed the sign. Not a area i travel often. When he hit the blue lights i pulled over into a church parking lot against a brick retaining wall (to show i wasn't going anywhere.) Officer approached and ask if i knew how fast i was going. I told him i wasn't 100% sure but it was around 50mph. He asked for the ID. This is when i told him i had a carry permit and my weapon was at 4 o'clock IWB. He was cool about it but the ride along that walked up to the passenger side during the traffic stop quickly ran back to the passenger side of the patrol car . He said to retrive my DL and HCP. No issues to that point.....he asked for a proof of insurance: no dice. Asked about the tag; told him i haven't received it yet. He then ask the last time i had a ticket. Told him it had been five yrs but i got two in that same day (dont ask.) Told me to hang tight. He didnt seem nervous about my sidearm at all. He came back to the car and ask about my address. My permit and Dl dont match because i moved after being issued the HCP. They updated my DL but not the permit. I explained the situation and he said he understood. Told me to slow down and stay vigilant. I deserved a ticket without a doubt and would have taken what i had coming without argument. I'm glad to see some professional officers like this in the field. I wounldnt post this story but i get tierd of reading all the posts about cops that were rude to HCP holders. Very respectable officer....even if he would have issued a ticket

could the guy in the background of this picture use deadly force?

what if the teller happened to be your wife? -
asked the branch manager (personal friend) today about branches posting she knew nothing of it. I told her to fight hard if she was told to post. It will cost her a lot of commercial accounts in the area. Regions (unlike credit unions and some other banks) are VERY driven by numbers and "sales." If they think it will hurt their numbers i doubt there will ever be widespread posting requirements.
-
hmmm......i do all my personal and commercial banking with regions. I know as of friday afternoon my local branch wasn't posted. Although i get along very well with all the employees of this branch i WILL move my business to another bank if they post. Again, i am very happy with them but i am not about to walk into that bank daily with thousands of dollars cash without some protection.

thanks for the info....that's how i imagined things would pan out.

Lets say you were in an auto accident (no other passengers)while carrying. Where would the weapon go if you were knocked unconscious? Would the responding officer take it?

i'd like every TGO member in kingsport to use that branch. That way....she will have some protection since she cant arm herself.

update for any Eastman credit union users......my fiance was transfered to the new Stone Dr branch this week. It is NOT posted (yet.) I didn't say a word.
-
and how do you conceal it? Is this something you could carry iwb with light cover without getting too much unwanted attention? Thanks for the help. Typically carry a G26 but i'm thinking about adding a 1911
-
well...guess i wont be taking her lunch anymore

Eastman credit union has been posted for a while (3-6 months.) My fiance works there and also has her permit so she noticed right away. I know they are not "legal" postings in accordance with the old law. I dont really understand the guidelines on the revived bill.

Hope for getting rid of Redlight Cameras in TN?
Parrothead replied to aquaman67's topic in General Chat
Kingsport cameras click on 2,047 red light violations in two weeks - Kingsport Times-News Online 2000 tickets in 2 weeks. $10,000 in a two week period. I dont know what percentage goes to the operating company but it seems to be a money making thing to me. According to the local new, there was problems with the cameras in Johnson City last week. Not sure of the details. Cant find the report on the web -
on I-26 and 81 they seem to be a "pace car." They hit the on ramp and everyone gets in a line behind them and does the limit until they exit. Then its green flag racing again

we shall see. I'll hang a target next time were out for ****s and giggles. He wouldn't be interested in the bet but i am sure he would give it a go for fun.

he was hitting the ball itself. I was hitting the jug...sometimes
-
i did....he said practice and get a rid of that plastic thing haha Seriously, i wont have a chance to match his ability. Not in his lifetime. It really showed me what dedication and practice can produce. I can only hope to learn from him.

i plan to bring some basketballs just in case the golf ball idea doesn't work haha
-
well i get another shot at it.....he said to get back to him in a few weeks

My employer is a retired LAPD officer and also a Green Beret. He is in his mid 60's while i am only 23. We joke around about shooting from time to time. I made the mistake of saying " you probably cant even see a target at 25 ft anymore." Boy was i wrong. He ask me today if i had my carry gun with me. I said i did so he suggested we head out to the rod and gun club. He sets up 4 milk jugs and put golf balls on the top (35-45 yrds.) Then he pulls out the S&W department issue .38 he carried in the PD. This is when i got a little worried. He suggested we both take 12 shots and see how many golf balls we can hit. I got first. Hit 2 in 12 shots. I figured that would be respectable.......til' he shot. 4 shots....4 hits. Damn. We went through this prob 10 times and i didn't manage to take one match. I thought "maybe its because i am shooting a sub compact." Nope he takes my G26 and goes 4 for 4 on the first attempt. So......back to the range for me everyday this week--possibly this entire month. I have to get some redemption. I'm tired of hearing the ***** talking already. Any suggestions? I am a fairly new shooter just based on my age. In addition, the range i use is only 35 ft long. How do i get ready for this friendly challenge? I seemed to miss high the majority of the time.

I'm looking to keep it around $700. I would like to spend more but that's what the current budget allows for. I will check with safe house but i dont think they have anything in my price range. I would prefer to stay away from something from a big box retailer.....although this might be the only way to stay in my price range. I would love to find a quality used safe but i am getting somewhat impatient. Thanks in advance

i carry this one everyday. It fits me well Commerce Storefront B2C
