  1. I married a industrial engineer and i plan/oversee projects daily. Processes and procedures are getting normal. She might have a flowchart in here car--let me check in the morning
  2. I like that this link pictured a glock Woman Charged With Taking Gun to 9/11 Memorial Also Had Cocaine, Cops Say - DNAinfo.com the gun was a .32? ? Not a Glock. I love the media.
  3. Maybe my delivery is off-- Would you be more likely to get a traffic ticket or find yourself in a self defense situation? My point is, i think about both and plan for both. Hopefully, neither will occur.
  4. I have a procedure for carrying/deploying a handgun. Statistically, i am MUCH more likely to get pulled over for a traffic violation. Why would i not plan for that also? i've been stopped twice since having a permit. I have not received a ticket or written warning in either case. I got rid of all the "fun" cars and don't worry too much in my truck. (knock on wood)
  5. I didn't want to hijack the traffic stop procedure thread ........How do you guys handle a traffic stop? I will list my thoughts below. I would love some feedback from the LEO community. Personally, i activate my hazard lights when a officer hits the blue lights. Then I pull as far off the road has possible. I typically look for a well lit area where i can park facing a wall or pole (to me, this means I'm not going anywhere quick.) I also cut the tires in the direction away from the roadway. I then roll down all my windows due to the tint (legal)......to me...this shows i have nothing to hide. I keep my hands on the wheel until approached by the officer. At that point, i tell him/her that i am armed and offer to produce a HCP. From there, its all up to him. So far so good. We have some great officers in NE TN. Up to this point, i have found no one to be disrespectful to myself or my wife (also a HCP'er) As a side note, i typically don't disclose HCP info in a DUI roadblock. I have done nothing to warrant suspension so i don't go out of my way to share additional information. Please share any suggestions you might have on making it through a standard traffic stop without issue.
  6. different strokes for different folks. I respect your creativity............
  7. personally, i would consider renting if you wont use this trailer on a regular basis. I have owned utility trailers in the past but i cant justify the cost now. I can rent a 12ft trailer with or without sides for around $15 a day. I
  8. very nice!!!
  9. I purchased up a Ruger SR40 today. I have not caught a lot of reviews about this particular gun but i cannot wait to get it to the range. Personally, i think it looks damn good.........for a polymer gun. It fits my hand well and has a capacity of 15+1. In .40 cal, i would feel very safe carrying this guy (after proving it to be reliable)...especially with a spare magazine (31 rounds) I will post a range report on Sunday after i put a few hundred rounds through the SR40. Until then, i will leave you with my best effort when it comes to cell phone photography...................
  10. With all due respect--its $35 a year--pretty much a dime a day. I seriously doubt folks without $35 dollars in discretionary income would post quality guns for sale. You can buy and trade without being a benefactor. Personally, i am happy with the price--i wouldn't raise too much hell if it went to $50 a year. I'm sure it takes a lot to keep this place running. IMHO, the TGO is a asset to the TN firearm owner.
  11. i use the ratio has an excuse to buy two handguns at a time
  12. i'm thinking about picking one of these up for Christmas. It would throw off my ratio of auto's vs. revolvers.................
  13. What a can of worms.....this has been discussed in the past. Look around and dig up some old threads
  14. nc star? why? this is a nice rifle. If your gonna drop 7 bills on a rifle you need to put some money in the sights. I'd rather shoot iron sights than nc star (just off my experience with their products--fine for a .22 or air-soft)
  15. you're welcome to park at my house and ride with me.
  16. I'm in! I'd be willing to help transport a few from Kingsport to the site since i have been there in the past. You are welcome to leave vehicles at my house. I have a Silverado w/ext cab....it might be snug but its only 30mins to the destination. I'm not sure this has been mentioned but 4wd may be required given substantial rainfall prior to the event. I don't know if a fwd car can make it to Jeff's place (assuming this is the same location i have visited in the past)
  17. I want one!
  18. nine times out of ten i carry a .45 (smith m&p .45c). I used to carry a PF-9 when the .45 wasn't practical. Now i carry a 642 w/.38 +P. Personally, i like this round and my ability to hide the j-frame damn near anywhere. I will pick up another compact 9mm in the near future (more than likely a chief's special) but i can carry the .45 most places i carried the kel tec with no issues. The 642 bails me out in areas where a service size weapon isn't practical (i.e. church). I don't feel underpowered but i think the accuracy (or my ability) at a longer range might be a issue in a active shooter situation. Hiding til' i could smell the guys breath would be my only option when armed with a j-frame. I know others may be able to deploy this weapon effectively under stress at 25+ yrds........sadly....thats not me.
  19. any of these date except the 14th would work for me. I'm in.....
  20. Hmmmm---just wait til he gets a 2nd term. Then he can really screw us without worrying about re-election
  21. VERY nice!!

    New Pistol

Wow....3 pages of bitching.....what wa accomplished here?
  23. I love the m&p .45c. I think it' a bit larger than a g26..... Similar to a g19. Very easy to conceal in the winter
  24. Very nice
